Some people are hyped beyond sanity but most of the gifs and avatars are not blind fanboy worship for kaz but rather people hyped for new hardware after 7 years. Others just roll with the fun. Kaz is one of the Sony Ceo's with alot of pics and expressions so he is good for gifs.

It's clear that the other camp gets grumpy when some of the gifs are specially making fun "against" Ninty/MS. That these people hope that the meeting will be failure and want a backfire is understandable.

There is no way they can put stuff like Netflix behind a paywall, they offer it for free on their own TVs and Blu-ray players and so do the likes of Samsung and Panasonic. Seriously they can't gimp PS4 in that manner as they would have to gimp their TVs to match, and then they would lose even more market share in that area to Samsung who wouldn't put Netflix behind a paywall.

Yeah, I'm not seeing a lot of sarcasm in here. I'm sure there's more of a "let's roll with it" vibe in the original thread. At least I hope. I've taken part in a couple avatar fads myself, but they were always game-related.

Even if that is the plan, i wouldn't expect sony to announce that tonight, they may announce the service but not the price.

Still i expect the online play to remain free, however the PS+ service will greatly expand probably involving Home and Gaikai

It was as question, perhaps you feel like you can offer an opinion on the matter rather going to a generic stock answer you've been saving for awhile.

I just don't understand why people are having genuine fun making other members of the community laugh with over the top gif animations to celebrate the hype behind a new console is something anyone would find bothersome or a sign of "console warzzzz".

I was nodding my head in agreement until your second paragraph.

To dislike something doesn't automatically put that person in the other camp as you put it. I find the Kaz gifs to be annoying and serving no purpose, this doesn't automatically mean I am not looking forward to the press event nor does it mean I am hoping it will be a failure.

I think it's wrong to only look at this. Same as some get attacked/downplayed when they state their unpopular opinion in threads and have a Helghast, Masterchief or Yoshi avatar and people automaticly put them into the "fanboy" drawer. A good chunk of gaf has more than one console + PC but just likes some specific characters as their avatar.
Same with Members downplaying Juniors.

I really hope we get a gen with a agressive, competitive Sony against a well placed,self confident Microsoft. People should be happy with this battle as a one console future would be the worst you can hope for everyone. Regardless if it would be Microsoft or Sony.

Will Gaikkai BC and Youtube instant uploads be part of PS+? It's possible, but that isn't really like Microsoft. Gaikkai cost a lot to purchase, and costs money to maintain.

I know its too early to say for certain but how are people not realising that this post should be exactly what’s going to happen?

When the article states ‘most things behind a paywall’ its relative to what the PS4 offers as a whole, not in comparison to PS3. I would bet money that online gaming, messaging, chat, non PS apps ect will all still be free. What will likely be charged for is any new service that is part of the network such as video uploading/sharing, instant streaming of games/demos, access to other new social services ect.

I understand its easy to get scared that Sony will go the way of Microsoft and decide to charge for everything but I really think that isn’t a concern, they know what an advantage this things can be when people decide to buy a console.

People just need to calm down, stop the hyperbole and use some ‘common’ sense before throwing a fit.

Sorry, english is not my first language so i can't articulate everything like it's floating in my head. I agree that "other camp" paragraph is wrongly expressed (although there surely are some who think like this). There are many people who don't have a preference for Sony/MS/Nintendo but would just like to see a backfire just for the fun.

Are you kidding? Kaz has played a significant part in the success of PS1/2. Also none of this is KAZ love. Everyone is excited about a new announcement finally. There will be gifs for MS just as there were for Nintendo and Sony.
