Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 |OT| Go Ninja Go Ninja Go

campaign mode in this game is fucked :(

run 2 secs, loading screen, run another 2 secs, loading screen, run another 2 secs, "cut scene" (but not really since its just characters standing around talking), rinse and repeat. maybe a fight somewhere in there and too rarely a proper boss battle.

maybe it would be more interesting if I didn't know what happens, but NUNS2 didn't have that problem >_>

Honestly I love the game but it would be soooo much better with an advanced tutorial mode. I will learn this stuff but it would still make it easier.

Trying to do a Sakura move. It says tilting O, then O. Tilting where? i tilted in every direction possible and the move is still the standard O.

This game seems a lot more focused on the Main Plot, with less la la video game filler than either of the previous games. To that end: I just finished the Five Kage Summit, and about 80% of that time was spent watching people talk. I mean I can appreciate a video game not just paying the plot lip service and really committing to telling the story, but they just KEEP TALKING. The fights are so short, then MAYBE I'll run in the world map for a minute, then ten more minutes of talking.

I'm tempted to skip it, but it feels like what's the point in buying a game if you're gonna skip chunks. I am not a cutscene-skipper, never have been. With how familiar I am with the source material, though, it's rough. I already know what everyone's gonna say. If I only played the fights, though, I'd miss out on the really awesome cinematics where they use some great effects and choreography and whatnot. Unfortunately these are bookended by vast swaths of interminable dialog from talking heads.

DEFINITELY not for anyone who isn't already up to speed on their Naruto plot. You'd be completely and utterly lost. But at the same time, it's maybe not great for people like me who are REALLY up to speed on their Naruto plot, since it's so much retread and so little playing. So far, at least. The Five Kage Summit always had a ton of exposition, maybe it'll even out a bit as I keep going.

Forward, up or down.

To be fair, the Kage summit's pacing is exactly like the manga's. Which was INSUFFERABLE. I hope it gets better as we move along.

What really got me is the lack of side quests. I really enjoyed doing that chain letter side quest in Storm 2 and reading all the funny responses characters would give you.

Is the move supposed to be different, because nothing is coming out.

These cutscenes go on forever. Literally.
I actually like it though.
I'm just mad Ay has his arm still and the Kage Summit just ended.

Curious there's a violence setting in the options.

I keep going "HEY they aren't supposed to fight now!!!" Naruto vs Raikage, Naruto vs Madara, all before the summit. Nonsense!!!!!

I think the violence thing removes blood, like was on Sandaime's face vs the Nine Tails. I can't imagine they'll keep anything with limb-loss or impalement, though. I wonder how they'll change the sealing of the Ninetails, in that regard. Assuming they actually show it at all, considering they cut right before that whole scene at the start of the game.

yeah what does that even do? the game is so tame already lol.

I'm assuming it controls whether or not the almost unnoticeable blood spatter effect is active as well as blood in a few of the cutscenes.

As in "Heathcliff"
I wouldn't be surprised that we will see (MANGA SPOILER)
Young 1st Hokage, Young 2nd Hokage, Young Madara
instead of other characters that missed the chance to be playable in Storm 3. I am betting on Generation 2.5.

Yep, no Raikage beheading Zetsu makes me sad too. When I saw that option I thought there would be these scenes at least. :(

i got my hand to play this game and i have to say to be honest i am disappointed

first i will say the good things about the game

+ the graphics in the cut scene vidoes are very impressive.
+ the Music, the story telling is very well implemented
+ the fights are as good as usual

now the bad things

- The loading, is seriously horrible. i am playing the game off the disk because i have lots of games on my HDD but seriously this is very annoying. if you move from one area to another it loads. when you want to start a fight it takes forever to load. when you finish the fight it takes forever to load. i know its not my xbox because other games run fine from the DVD.

- the expolring part of the game is very useless and annoying. you basically move from point A where you are right now to the arrow. and u do nothing. you can waste your time talking to people and being useless since it doesnt add anything to the story. even the side missions are horrible.

- what the fuck is up when the items you win after you win a fight ? why the fuck i have to press A botton like 20 times ? every time showing me i got a new " item " how fucking hard is it to list them all in pop up window ? "

i wont give this game more than a 7 out of 10. this game wont take from you more than 3 days rental. i would say 9 hours to finish ? i am around the end right now and i am on chapter 7 i think or 8. and thats like 6 hours of game play " if you want to add the loading time "

Man, I just did Kisame VS Bee fight in the beginning of chapter 2.

What the fuck CC2? That was cheap as hell, not only this fight could have been boss-fight worthy, but they totally fucked up how it went and how Bee got
Kisame's sword
.

Storm 2, while it was missing some parts too, felt miles better story-wise so far.

EDIT:
That Sasuke vs Naruto boss fight was insane though.
I'll wait till war before drawing any harsh judgements.

yeah i just did that fight too before i stopped playing for the day. so far it seems like the most effort went into the opening of the game.

this. i liked Storm 2 much better story wise and presentation. i mean, they crammed so much into this game the details of the story started missing.

i didnt want to walk around like an idiot from A TO B and do nothing. just give me the fights and boss fights. this is a fighting game after all. i dont want to " investigate " a stupid pile of wood . the fuck i am about to finish the game and i didnt buy shit from the store " is there even a store ? "

Damn, I wasn't expecting this reception at all.

I just watched the Gametrailers review, it's really brutal.

But since I haven't purchased any of the games in the series, and I'm avid fan of the Manga / show, I felt I that needed to pick this one up.

Even if the stories lacking, I can still enjoy free battles / versing people.

So how strong is Naruto in the anime now? I thought it was a cool show but stopped after the first hundred episodes.

Is he like the Goku of his own universe now? Lol.

I caved and watched the boss fights on youtube. Overall am glad I did that as most of them were disapppointing. Personally I felt like CC2 made a much better job with storm 2, there is simply to many fights that was wasted in storm 3
. Sasuke vs Naruto was good, but were the hell was Gai vs Kisame, Sasuke vs Danzou, and Nagato and Itachi vs Naruto and Bee?
I'll skip this and wait for the inevitable nextgen iteration.

Wow that game looks like a massive clusterfuck of disappointment.

Does anyone have the 360 version and if so, does it have framerate issues liek the PS3 version?

I think I'll wait for a price drop.

They would have been better off ditching the exploration mode, it's totally pointless and just adds an extra layer of loading to everything you do.

So, after playing for about an hour, I've gotta say that the loading is definitely a downgrade for the series.
It seriously is bad. Moving from area to area, there's a ~10 second loading screen. After cutscenes? Same.
It really takes me out of the experience, honestly.. especially since the last few games were pretty smooth in that regard. At least, from what I can remember.

Other than that, I'm enjoying it. CyberConnect2 still holds the crown for cel-shaded graphics. Man, does the game look good.

Shippuden might have some awful pacing, but the OST is still top-notch in it. For some reason, I am not too bother with the structure of the anime. It brings back a wealth of feelings simply watching Naruto.

Though, my brain will probably turn into muck by the time I catch up. At least then I can play through the Ultimate Storm games (well 2 and 3 anyway, since I played the first game during my freshman year of college).

Does anyone know how to do the yellow dash after an enemy substitutes?

I see people do it to me all the time in multiplayer when I chakdra dash during a combo my character has to completely stop attacking first before he will dash, and even then it's a normal blue dash, not the instant yellow one that other people are using.

Is the command different from the chakra dash?

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I'm just going to shelf this game after finishing the single player.

Exactly, I would rather to epic tracks like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Madvj-K5yQE&list=PLBCA4DE7D87CD9DFD&index=27 instead of the Storm OST

He's like Krillin, and everyone else are the other normal earthlings. Not really destroying the planet, but changing up landscapes with attacks.

And this is pretty much what I was afraid of.

so I need 3 more World Timeline Scrolls to finish it:

1st one of Boyhood Section.

1st and 7th of Shippuden - First Half.

Any1 have any clue on where to find these 3?

Ugh, Sasuke, Sasuke, Sasuke, SO MANY SASUKES ONLINE!

I've seen about 23 Sasukes, and only 1 Naruto so far. Ridiculous. Equally across Player matches and Ranked matches.

They all seem to employ the same exact strategies too. It's like fighting the same player over and over, but there were 23 different PSN names.
