Eurogamer: Lego City could blow the franchise wide open/save the WiiU [Dont port beg]

first review 8.5 from the ranting robots they got there review copies

Good to see Game Informer with a good score, though. Not sure Nintendo could afford this to suck.
Their UK Facebook page is pedalling this game like mad. Maybe they invested more in it that we'd expected.

Watched the main trailer with German voices now... um, could be better, could be worse. But mostly better. Much better actually. Will probably play in English.

I have yet to see an ad for this, I fear for stuff like The wonderful 101 when not even this is getting a proper place under the spotlight.

It's Nintendo marketing. When was the last time they didn't use word of mouth?

As stated, the TV commercials have started to air already

If so they won't be where some are watching then. Kids channels like said. I wish they would expand out from that but they don't seem to. Which is why it looks like at times they don't advertise at all. That's only true in some cases I think but not all.

I can see why they'd be hesitant to market the thing when we don't even know the specific day it'll be on shelves

LEGO City Undercover looks very promising and could really become the spiritual successor to the LEGO Island series I've waited for so long!

It's a Lego game. Airing commercials on MTV, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon is absolutely the correct strategy for this release.

Maybe

and Gamestop lists it as the date but not an actual Street Date

Nintendo's eShop has a banner across the top announcing a midnight release March 18th. I understand the skepticism that Wii U will ever release games and the year 2014 will arrive with no additional releases due to project cancellation, but cut the Wii U some slack.

Um, it's more because Fire Emblem's retail release is fucked up and had the same notice on Amazon. You really jumped to some conclusions there.

This is not a retailer claiming a March 18th release date, this is Nintendo stating directly on their Wii U eShop. If the game was being delayed or cancelled I'm pretty sure we would know by now.

Is there a previous precedence for Wii U games cancelling with 10 days of release?

Well, Edge uses the whole scale.

Meaning that this is an average game, and half as good as Skyward Sword.

Can't say it's ever a good idea to be overly hyped about anything. However, need more review scores. Remember ZombiU?

Ah, a low score in Edge.

Have to see the review text before figuring out what they're thinking; very unpredictable with scores, actually.

5/10?

Great. The drought continues.

Edge scores are all over the place. In some ways it means less than a 5 from IGN. Need the text to see what they gripe about.

Seems that Edge have given this game a 5/10.

What is your shitty language, if you don't me asking? I assumed you were native English... if not then very good work on learning it!

Ouch. Will be interesting to see what the other outlets make of this. There seems to be a real desire from people for this game to turn out great (understandably). Will be quite a big let down if it turns out to be pretty average.

lol its zombiu all over again(with the review scores) , that being said, hmmmmmm

that frank trailer was pretty funny though and the game looked great there. might have to bite the bullet and buy, i need a new wii u game

Good review: who cares

Bad review: I'll go with this

own opinion: what is this

Yeah, it's silly to latch onto great scores like a reflex but why is it when one score is low, people discount a game's worth???

I remember when ZombiU got that 4.5, several were like "so the game's shit, not surprising" or something to that effect.

This game will probably have more good scores than non-good scores.

With all that said.....AN 8 FOR LUIGI'S MANSION, AN UNDISTIPUTEDLY GREAT GAME:D

I've been gaming for a very long time, and in my old and jaded ways I've learned when a game gets fluctuating scores its never a good sign and the lower scores are usually closer to accutrate.

Regardless, this does not appear to be the AAA title I was hoping for.

lol 5 year olds play call of duty 21 year old plays lego city undercover :D :D seeing all the port begging tells me alof of people want this game

Good review, footage looks very fun even if they maybe should have put more content in the form of side missions, etc...

I can't tell if the vehicles control poorly or not, I get the sense of how they control and that it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue like its intentional and not bad mechanics.

Overall, while maybe not right away, still seems a game worth picking up for sure.
