Probably won't come out until halfway through PS4 lifecycle though.

Halfway through the PS4 lifecylce would be around 2017. Whilst I'm sure you'll see a FF game around that time, it certainly won't be "Versus XIII" nor will it be the first FF to show up on next generation hardware.

If they really renamed Versus XIII to XV I have to say I am really disappointed in SE and I think this is stupid.

So if they continue sucking it'll be renamed FFXV and moved to PS4, and people will buy PS4 in anticipation of it, but then it'll be delayed and eventually moved to PS5.

what do you mean? agnii's philosophy is just a technical demo not a game.
Versus XIII was already taking in parts of the luminous studio engine before, its not too hard to imagine they move it to the engine and next generation.

If this is true then I'm very surprised. I mean, the goddess Etro plays a big role in the story right? And that's all part of the FFXIII mythos...

Considering its a Square Enix game they'll probably go with Final Fantasy XVersus as the title. Shrug.
What do you mean? Agni is just a tech demo. They're going to unveil a next-gen FF at E3.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this is reliable or not. I also don't really seeing them moving the game to PS4.

If Versus really does become XV, that's like the ultimate admission of failure. "Here's FFXV. It's a game we revealed to you several years before you first saw FFXIV. Please look forward to it."

The whole "Fabula Chrysatal Whatevia" thing's fallen apart. Splitting it off and making Versus its own thing makes sense.

That doesnt make sense.. who cares if the game was already announced under a different name, people still want that game more than 13 or 14..they wont care if its 15.
It would be very easy to do that.. but it wouldnt really be necessary.

Makes no difference. Call it Final Fantasy 100. As long as I get it, I'm happy. But yeah the further away from the XIII name the better off it will be for branding.
