guys there are too many console games coming to Steam I dont know how I feel about this its weird I want PC games

I'm personally really fucking happy about it.

I would be really happy if Rising came to PC. I don't want to play consoles anymore. I seriously put in RDR in the 360 the other day and stopped playing after 5 minutes.

Death Prophet
how come you stopped?

I don't know, I'm so used to playing on PC now... I haven't played a console game since summer. Honestly, a large part of it was graphics. I've been so spoiled by my PC. I was playing on my monitor so I was really close to the screen and I could see all the imperfections. It just feels weird to go back to that now.

I'm sure I'll go back and play it, but anytime I try to play my consoles, I would just rather play games on my PC.

Ah, I had no idea about Castlevania so, damn, I wasn't expecting it!

And, yeah, that other series should come. And the Silent Hill games. Oh, and how about Gradius V? Zone of the Enders? Don't tell me you people wouldn't want Z.O.E. on PC! (I know, I know, PS2 emu.)

Oh ya! ZOE on PC? Would be a perfect fit.

not the first game

it was barely hinted at

As far as I know the first game still hasn't been fully confirmed, correct?

IDK how interested I am in these Castlevanias though, I prefer the Metroidvania formula rather than a linear action game.

I just got done playing Aria of Sorrow on the GBA, probably one of the best iterations in the series.

I know what you mean. I watched some gameplay of MGR and I couldn't get past the textures.

Well this isn't proof of anything

http://steamdb.info/sub/26167/

There is only one entry so we should just assume that is for what has already been announced.

Marking this as LoS1 confirmed is quite a leap.

how is it quite a leap when there hasnt been a case of an entry having anything other than the full name?

if it was 2 it would say Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Early Access Comp

either way, what I meant by the best confirmation we're gonna get is the fact that I doubt they'll announce it, it'll just pop up, like this

If I could get the Platinum games on Steam I'd honestly only need a PC and Nintendo consoles.

Given how late the port is, it'd be nice if it doubled as a pre-purchase incentive for the sequel.

That would be nice. I wonder how they're going to price it though. 15-20$ would be the sweet spot where it's not too cheap but also cheap enough to get some sales. I think.

Afaik LoS2 seems to follow the Metroidvania formula a bit closer than the original which was pretty linear. 90% or so of the game is supposed to take place in a castle.

Anyone have any ideas as to why nearly no Ubisoft title will work on my computer. None of the Assassin Creed games, Far Cry 2, Hawx 1 and 2, Anno, Splinter Cell Conviction... to name a few.

Specs are:

-Intel i7 980x (6 core)
-24gb of Ram
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 590
-Windows 7 64-Bit
-Latest Directx and Drivers

I've tried all the usual hacks like running in various Windows compatibility modes, tried different drivers, turned on anti virus and firewall software, etc and none of it works. All the games start up then immediately close and seemingly only Ubisoft games. All other games seem to work. Any ideas?

You know your computer has gotten too old when a new game, in this case Arma 3, runs like shit at the lowest possible graphical settings.

I think a new PC is overdue. Maybe later this year...

Wow at those specs.

ARMA 3 is apparently very unoptimized, as games usually are when they are in beta. Optimization is usually the last part in creating a game.

Also keep in mind ARMA II was always very poorly optimized to this day.

I remember there were a couple very good ini tweaks to get it running properly. Disabling the tree/bush/grass anti aliasing helped tremendously, especially with AMD cards.
I don't remember the particular kind of AA unfortunately.

Uplay issue possibly?

What is it spitting out when you run the game?

Are you running dual monitors? Some games for me fail to launch when my second monitor is on.

Also, other games would refuse to work when my OS wasn't on my C: drive, but I know that's maybe not your case.

I am running the games on my HDTV. I think it's using a DVI-HDMI cable through the back of the NVIDIA card (no monitor hooked up at all).

As for error messages, I don't get any at all which is what's making this hard to diagnose. I've spent hours across forums trying to find solutions and nobody has had any.

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.

Your computer is apparently too badass for Ubisoft's catalogue.

I'm grasping at straws here, but does the Application log in Event Viewer mention any crashes?
I also have to wonder if your HDTV is a weird resolution and Ubisoft's games just choke on it...but it'd be a waste to hook that rig up to something that isn't at least 1080p so probably not.

Interesting.

Both Bioshcok Infinite and Defiance went up by 20% today despite both dropping lower on the Top Sellers chart.

We might have a definitive answer whether the pre order rewards are rigged.

Well generally there would be two separate registry entries.

One for Lords of Shadow 2, and one for the first game.

Unless they plan to release both games as one single product. This is possible, but I can think of several likely arguments that this wouldn't be the case.
Of course if Konami wants to break into PC gaming and show some good will, that would be the way to do it.

Are all of those Uplay games running through Steam?

Dammit I hate it when I just stare at my library and think "ok, what am I gonna play tonight?"

You have a legit library that you haven't touched or barely played at all.

FTL
Mark of the Ninja
Stalker
Chivalry
Psychonauts
Orcs Must Die 2

These are seriously some of my favorite games, get moving.

pick out 3 (or 4) games and dedicate yourself to beating them. then post in this thread:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=517413

And read my thread, I posted some helpful tool to get you going.

Damn, I may jump on that Farcry 3 sale, even though I still don't have a great PC I could still probably at least make it playable. After the possible Castlevania existence on Steam it's going to provoke me even more to get a proper gaming machine.

Dammit I hate it when I just stare at my library and think "ok, what am I gonna play tonight?"

I organise my library into:

"Want to play"
"Maybe one day"
"Unlikely to play"
"Junk" (shit steam puts in my games list)

And then once played?

"played"
"No good"
"keep around" (for games like SF4AE that I'll play every now and then).

To decide? I simply go through my "want to play" list and play a game. If I decide I don't want to play the game even if it is in the list? Well I move it out because it really shouldn't be there. Once it is clear I'll move games up from "maybe one day" (in theory)

Keeps it all pretty easy.

Channeling my soothsayer powers here:

this working on modern machines would be pretty swell.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Is there a fix for Stranger's Wrath HD that has the game show the actual buttons/button names instead of "Joy1", "Joy2", and so on? I'm using a wireless X360 controller and the layout menu shows it just fine, but in-game the button identifiers are generic.

Edit:

I knew I should have paid attention in Giberish class.

Its not weird, these developers are finding they can make a significant amount of their revenue, or the majority of their revenue, from the PC market.

The amount of growth we have had in the last couple years has been unprecedented. I'm liking the health of the platform as we roll into the next generation.

The only thing I'm worried about is the PS4 is so under powered compared to PCs right now. We could have a situation where middle-range PCs are significantly ahead of next generation consoles before they are even released.

That isn't good for the lifetime of the consoles.

Castlevania has been known for a little while now, I'm hoping its a sign of things to come from Konami.

MGS series

I would die a happy man if I saw Snake on my PC via non emulation

They must be rigged. There is no way they would prevent pre-orders from getting rewards. It's just a marketing gimmick.

Think about it guys. It's the hats.

I had no intention of pre-purchasing Infinate until the hats were unlocked and that took forever, imo. Now that hats have been finally unlocked, everyone is pre-purchasing because hats! The jump is hardly surprising if you think about how strong the hat-conomy is.

or, you know, they wanna release the first game before the second one :p

Except if you look at the overall sales revenue generated from the top sellers chart it went down from yesterday comparatively.

And yet it made its largest jump ever.

Meanwhile, Defiance made the exact same jump.

Hats have also been unlocked for a couple days, why such a jump today? Even though it was lower sales overall?

Rayman Origins is an awesome game and it's super cheap right now. I'm sure most of you have it by now but I'll gift it to the first 5 people who PM me.

Update - all done for now.
