I need to stay out of that EDM thread. Sentences like "Finally an official thread for dance music!" and "EDM is gaining a lot popularity." make me want to pull my hair out... but that's okay, I guess that's just what game people are like when they say "Hey, this DmC game is great! They should've done this sort of game YEARS ago".

Regulars in here, just make sure anything you post over there you post here too. Don't want to miss good shit!

Dntel - (This Is) The Dream Of Evan And Chan (Superpitcher Kompakt Remix)
(It's old, but it's new to me... and it's damn good. Seeing Superpitcher this Easter Sunday :D)

Edit: Fuck, it's old as HELL. 2002? Superpitcher's been a busy boy.

Haha I have the same feeling, was already typing a ''witty'' reply but then thought ''fuck this and let them be''

And not going to post anything over there, Kaskade/Avicii/SHM/Armin fans don't like my kind of EDM anyway.

Yeah, same. I'm not going to mention it over here anymore either, it's just not productive. Instead, I'm going to try and post stuff that they may like, fully knowing that they know I'm one of "those" people from this thread ;)

I'm not sure if I posted this here, but I think I might have after I saw him play live. Hell of a fucking track:
Maxxi Soundsystem - Regrets We Have No Use For
2012 was a hell of a fucking year for him. Just kept releasing rad shit, one of which was "Best Indie Dance Track" at WMC just gone.

That made it as a radio hit? I've always loved that song! Always = about 6-8 months ;) Heard a mate play it out, loved it, promptly forgot about it until the start of this year :/

I prefer this video, though. Just makes me wish I lived in a place where those sort of parties could happen that I'd get invited to!

Yep!

Maybe I should set aside my principles and produce something with loops only as well.

Nah... ;)

On another note, Spongebob saves the day:

AHAHAHA, oh YES. Another reason why laptop DJing is stupid. Majority of guest DJs I see now are using USB sticks anyway, so there's no need anymore to wank it up with a laptop set (unless you're 2manydjs or

Alternative response: The dubstep ruined that DJ's set long before Spongebob did.

Somehow, this came into my head. You might've been familiar with the D. Ramirez remix of Yeah Yeah by Bodyrox (aka Full Intention) but I'd be willing to bet that no-one here came across this amazing little retro-breakbeat remix of the original:
Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (Electro mix)
I have really fond memories of it and TBH, doesn't really hold up all that well... but it gives me big nostalgia waves, so enjoy :)

Should I know that name? It's kinda familiar... but not instantly recognizable.

That mix, however... crikey. Smooth.

Which one? Caulfield's?

You might know him as the labelboss of Dumb Unit?

As proprietor of leading neuro-minimal imprint Dumb-Unit, DJ of widely-acclaimed repute, and occasional producer of stripped-back, ominous dancefloor bombs, Jeremy has emerged from his early days on the Canadian techno circuit to become a leading light of today’s underground club scene. Using his fifteen years of DJing experience as a springboard, Jeremy has utilised Dumb-Unit as a pivotal platform for the blossoming careers of artists including Butane, Lee Curtiss, Sweet N’ Candy and Seph, loosely defining a hinterland micro-scene of murky, intricate sounds that play with the darkest recesses of the mind while remaining firmly attached the propulsive drive of the dance-floor.

I just feel so sad that my childhood/teenage heroes Armin Van Buuren and such are becoming more and more mainstream.
My music taste today is really far off from where I started back when I was about 11 years old, but there is still a soft spot in my heart for older trance music. My collection on that genre is still the largest (about 1 Tb+, lots of rare stuff as I was lucky to get into a private trancemusic forum back in the days.)

Amoeba Assassin - Piledriver (Grayed Out Summer Mix)
Still, perhaps my favourite tune.

Spooky - Little Bullet (live Version)

Rising High Collective - Fever Called Love (Resistance D Remix)

So many good tunes, that too few people know of.

Never thought I'd see a thread where Burial's Kindred was used as a negative example.

I don't mind though, I would not like to see things posted there being posted in here.

trance in the 90's was good. somewhere down the line it got really cheesy.

I have actually narrowed the year down to '04 :)D).
Adam White & Andy Moor pres. The White Room - White Room
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEcwj1yNuiM
,was imo the last true classic (with a few exceptions), but after '04 the whole scene just got into a trend of copying each other styles and ended up being a genre where it is impossible to tell one producer from an another. Earlier you could instantly tell just by a bassdrum sound the producer.

Stranger - Mantra [FREE]

Also, could I have a link for that hiphop thread?

I always thought Bonobo was somewhat generic sounding, but I'm kinda liking the album actually. It's so easy to listen to.

North Borders wasn't as good as Black Sands for me, still a good album though. That Lapalux LP has been absolutely killing though.

Good look on the Hemsworth mix. He dropped a new track today as well:
