I need to stay out of that EDM thread. Sentences like "Finally an official thread for dance music!" and "EDM is gaining a lot popularity." make me want to pull my hair out... but that's okay, I guess that's just what game people are like when they say "Hey, this DmC game is great! They should've done this sort of game YEARS ago".

And not going to post anything over there, Kaskade/Avicii/SHM/Armin fans don't like my kind of EDM anyway.

Yeah, same. I'm not going to mention it over here anymore either, it's just not productive. Instead, I'm going to try and post stuff that they may like, fully knowing that they know I'm one of "those" people from this thread ;)

I'm not sure if I posted this here, but I think I might have after I saw him play live. Hell of a fucking track:

That made it as a radio hit? I've always loved that song! Always = about 6-8 months ;) Heard a mate play it out, loved it, promptly forgot about it until the start of this year :/

I prefer this video, though. Just makes me wish I lived in a place where those sort of parties could happen that I'd get invited to!

AHAHAHA, oh YES. Another reason why laptop DJing is stupid. Majority of guest DJs I see now are using USB sticks anyway, so there's no need anymore to wank it up with a laptop set (unless you're 2manydjs or

Somehow, this came into my head. You might've been familiar with the D. Ramirez remix of Yeah Yeah by Bodyrox (aka Full Intention) but I'd be willing to bet that no-one here came across this amazing little retro-breakbeat remix of the original:

I just feel so sad that my childhood/teenage heroes Armin Van Buuren and such are becoming more and more mainstream.
My music taste today is really far off from where I started back when I was about 11 years old, but there is still a soft spot in my heart for older trance music. My collection on that genre is still the largest (about 1 Tb+, lots of rare stuff as I was lucky to get into a private trancemusic forum back in the days.)

trance in the 90's was good. somewhere down the line it got really cheesy.

,was imo the last true classic (with a few exceptions), but after '04 the whole scene just got into a trend of copying each other styles and ended up being a genre where it is impossible to tell one producer from an another. Earlier you could instantly tell just by a bassdrum sound the producer.

I always thought Bonobo was somewhat generic sounding, but I'm kinda liking the album actually. It's so easy to listen to.

North Borders wasn't as good as Black Sands for me, still a good album though. That Lapalux LP has been absolutely killing though.
