Guys, we got Assassin's Creed III for free.... A lot of people would probably give you their copy if you asked. I understand why we're having this moral debate, but it seems misplaced here.

yeah guys, please don't derail it (specially with attacks). I just tried to raise a point moderately, specially seeing the hoops and loops people have to go through to get a free "BAD" (with capitals) game that they didn't intend to.

Wait a second, I dont think people in this thread called it a BAD game as you say and that they never cared for it. Most saw it as a free game to play and took a few minutes to get it.

It worked for me too. Once I migrated the account and restarted the download it completed 100% and ran under my main profile as well. Thanks OP
I downloaded it again after doing the migration, but at the end I still got a corrupted download. The game showed at my games list but vanishes in a fraction of second. When I go to store I see the option "Play it now", but when I hit it Im sent back to menu.
I'm doing something wrong? I deleted the corrupt file before hit Download Again, and I started the download trough the store.
I'm trying again, this time trough the Download History, let's see if works that way.

Hmmm trying the same thing will report back if it works or not. I don't know how this could be considered piracy though, it was a mess up on ms part no one else's.
Still downloading this after maybe 15 hours lols.

Did the accountmigration thingy, I hope it works cause if not all this time downloading will be a waste of time and bandwith.
Out of curiosity, do you have a slow connection or is this particular download just being abnormally slow for you? Maybe both? This game downloaded at about 1/2 the speed that I usually get from the Xbox Live Marketplace, which fortunately for me was a not-so-bad 3 hours.

I did the migration at 57% download, in sleep mode. As soon as it finished, it was available logging in my main account.
Thanks op, but i guess I will not play it in 360. I, at most, will try it a bit. If I like it, I will wait to a steam sales. Playing games in PS360 is like watching offcam rips movies.

A mix of both, I have a really slow internet and this particular download is even more slow than usual, it got stuck at 0% for about and hour, that tells you everything :/.

Ok I have a problem because i was not reading.
I moved an account to a "country" where xbox live is not supported, by accident, dont know why i selected country where I am from, not region that I'm using to play on xbox. Is that mean that i wont be able to play the game when i re-download it? Downloading started without any problem, but i need to wait quite some time because of my internet connection...
Also, is there a possibility to "migrate" account again after some time?

I have a 2MB connection and it probably took me like 13 hours to download. It was worth it, though. I'm not a fan of the franchise except for ACII but I'm really enjoying this one.

The exploit is now Dead.
If you havent begun the download from the Chinese marketplace, you can no longer get the game for free.
If you got the download to start, got to 80 and it failed:
OR
Your still in the process of downloading the game and you havent got to 80% yet:
simply migrate your chinese account to your home country on Xbox.com. Re-download if you got to 80%, if at less than 80%, migrate while downloading. You can re-download from your download history in the account management section on your Xbox360 and you should be good to go.
You can migrate your account once every 3 months.
Make sure you migrate to your home country, cant say that enough. That way you will pass the IP check and can download past 80%.
That pretty much sums it all up, any other questions feel free to ask as a few people in here got it to work.

1. Downloaded 100% via China Account to my US xbox in US FRIDAY
2. Game file is corrupted
3. Account migrated to USA
4. Deleted corrupt download
5. Downloaded 100% TODAY (SATURDAY)
6. Played with my normal account fine - download didn't get stuck

So, I made an account and did all the 'purchase' stuff yesterday, but I was away from my Xbox so I never started the actual download. I can't seem to get to my transaction history on the chinese account.

You could try downloading it to your Xbox 360 on the Xbox Live site.
Sadly, I'd have no clue how you'd go about doing that. :/

When you enter your name and email and choose your platform, there's a Swedish sentence above that. Google translate says it's something like "within a week".

This sentence is when you validate your name and email. I'm talking about the one before.
Ive gone into my Chinese account and anything XBL related is greyed out and in settings I can only choose System, Preferences and Turn Off. Does that mean that account is blocked from XBL or is it how the Chinese version is?
If I pres the guide button I can go into Account Managment and choose Download History, can I redownload it and still be able to play it?

That's how Chinese accounts are, as they technically don't have Xbox Live there. You're correct in that if you go to Account Management, you'll be able to redownload it. Or if you log in through the website, you can add it to your queue via https://live.xbox.com/en-GB/Download/History

Cool Ive done that but Im hearing that if you download from outside China than itll be corrupted when it finishes downloading, will this be the case for me?
