I've always loved this one. I only saw it as a poster, never knew it was used as box art anywhere.
It'd be great to see alt covers for the games with this format. The white background reminds me of 60s/70s action movie posters.
Yeah that's the cover here in Euroland, i don't know if only the first print or what, but my copy has that cover.
They changed it for the US due to 9/11 (they apparently didn't want to show explosions and stuff on the cover) and then the result of that caught on.

Yeah the EU copies still use that cover, in the UK at least. I bought the PS2 trilogy box set a couple years back and it has that cover still.

Yeah when I moved in to my new place I filled up one side of the room with a bunch of GTA posters. Next to that one I got a Vice City and San Andreas one hanging up too. Love me some GTA.

They'll have a roll out of ad's during E3 just like all of their other games, I'm sure. That's pretty much their only participation in E3 anyway.
The cover could be a huge middle finger and say "Go Fuck Yourselves" and the game would still sell five million copies on day one.......

That's fake, some dude over at GTAForums made it. Do you really think they'd have that hideous diagonal slice in the bottom right on an official cover?
I get that this is their thing and all, but i think they should've made more clear the three characters thing on the cover.

All their other promotion seems to push the three characters idea, so it's not like people will go in blind to it, but still, putting their three faces in a more clear manner on the cover would've been better, imo.

Yeah i know, that's why i said "that's their thing", i'm saying i don't like it.
To be honest i wouldn't mind them keeping the Euro cover like the original GTAIII one, now that i see it again.
I like the "column of crazy shit" type of art.
Though more hard to pull off without it being just a jarring collage of crap.

Why is it fake? Box arts dont have blurry images like the helicopter from the top left part. Since Rockstar Games havent released such image, the duper cut the picture from the original mural and inserted it on the box art.
Why is it fake? The helicopter image was taken from Vice City Stories. As weve mentioned, its really hard to dupe this part since Rockstar Games havent released this yet from their previous screens.
In some attempt to make an April Fools prank from Vs community, someone has also edited the NYC mural replacing it with a mock-up picture. Likewise, its not authentic but could be very close to what its finished part will look like.

No, unfortunately the Franklin image i used already had the logo covering most of the image, i didn't want to redraw most of it for a simple joke, tbh.
Are you talking about my Black Snake Moan one? I don't see a major difference in quality, what do you mean?
