Unfortunately this episode just wasn't that good. I had hoped the writer had learned from his past blunders with the part I ending but I guess that wasn't the case. He just cant write an ending for beans. The first three minutes were the best part of the episode but then after that it was like everything just collapsed and fell apart. I even stopped the episode then, turned it off, and came back an hour later as it was just frustratingly and offensively bad.
Battle Tendency as a whole was actually really amazing and I can easily forgive this episode just on account of the resolution. The soundtrack is great, the characters both protagonists and antagonists were good, well except for Lisa Lisa, and just everything in terms of interactions, commentary, skills, and even suspense and intensity were just really genre defining. I cant imagine if this can even be topped in later parts which I hope get animated just so I can experience more of the series. Though I bet there is no comparison to Caesar and Joseph. At least they can still live on forever in the fandom. 9 / 10

We go through this huge life or death ordeal and finally after finally managing to throw cars into what should be his grave, he just suddenly pops up and slashes Josephs arm off? What even, that is not how you end a story. Worst yet it was just bad thing after bad thing and made it too depressing. Then the death card was played, why? Fortunately there was a glimmer of hope as Joseph survived (albeit he did make another huge mistake of lead characters in a genre there), but I am glad that the writer at least left with some sort of joy after the big moment earlier this arc. Playing with my emotions is just not good and not how an ending should be.

Seeing those Little Witch Academia designs and also seeing Heartcatch and Panty & Stocking mentioned makes me wonder what it would be like if Yoh Yoshinari, Umakoshi and Imaishi all got together to work on an anime. Not like that would probably happen though but still interesting to think about.

That Goldeneye video was actually pretty funny. The part with the plane and the helicopter near the end, haha. It kind of reminds me of when I stumbled upon the floating mines glitch. Playing multiplayer with the invincibility cheat activated was kind of weird too.
I actually just went back to the game around the fall of 2008 I think because I had beaten the game on 00 Agent and had gotten all the cheats except for the train level and the caverns level near the end. It was nice to finally be able to do it and completely beat the game after all these years but I also thought "Geez! This game looks so terrible now!", haha.
I kind of feel the same way with them this past episode. They were kind of entertaining maybe with their antics at first but they came across as more annoying this episode. While they're obviously not fan service they kind of felt similar to me in which they were like an element that didn't seem to belong in an other classy show.

I haven't gotten around to seeing the first episode of OreImo S2 but while I wasn't really a fan of the fan service type stuff or maybe the incest type undertones in the first season, I did like the show for it's kind of meta like moments. It was kind of funny reading different things here in the thread and seeing something similar in the show or vice versa.

Marathoned a few of the new shows earlier today with varying degrees of success.
Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Bride - 1
This was a really poor start. I don't know anything about the manga that it's based on but the first episode seemed to be a mix of fanservice with dreary colors and cafe business management. I wasn't liking it at all 15 minutes in so I skipped it despite not liking to write things off that fast. Dropped.
Photokano - 1
Fairly uninteresting for some part, but the pacing didn't feel nearly as slow as Samurai Bride so I was able to stick through it till the end. Once the main character met the head of the photo club, I started to enjoy it a bit more so I might check out the next episode. Dat Canan.
Majestic Prince - 1
The CG mechs don't look half bad and the fights were appealing to watch, but holy shit, did everything else fall completely flat for me. I'll most likely skip this.
Hataraku Maou-sama! - 1
Now this was a pleasant surprise. The opening was great and the quick transition to a fish out of water scenario was nicely done. I got a few laughs out of the two guys trying to communicate with the cops as well as Mao quickly becoming the best fast food worker her could be. It was light-hearted and fun with some nice execution.
Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge - 1
Character designs don't do much for me, but the music was quite good and I'm curious about where it will go from here.
Karneval - 1
The fairly brisk pace and action made up for a lack of insight into any of the characters. I'll check out the next episode, but I don't see myself sticking with this for too long.
Aku no Hana - 1
Call me a shiteater, but I kinda liked this. The rotoscoped characters provided a jarring mix with the very detailed backgrounds. I dug the decaying town and the strong feeling of monotony. It nails the mundane life that Kasuga is living. You could even say the reused backgrounds were there to reinforce that, but it's probably because of a small budget. There's some good direction underneath this as it sets the tone very well throughout the episode and the build up to Nakamura was good. It's just a shame that the rotoscoping looks this damn shitty. I'm basically echoing what sonic, wonzo, and jex have said at this point.
I don't know that much about the manga aside from the fact that it goes to some strange places. This first episode certainly felt kind of creepy to me so I'm interested to see where this weird experiment is gonna go.

Yeah I totally needed to see a naked Setsuna. Totally. He's hot like radiation poisoning. Action sequences in this movie are shit and shit directed. It's just spinning Gundams and explosions and pink and orange and green lines. I feel like I drew this entire battle in the margins of my notebook with a four color pen in high school. It's incoherent bullshit and I rescind what praise I had for this show's action scenes.
The only remotely cool aspect of any of this is that Tieria can pilot multiple mobile suits at once because he is a super computer. Hey it's Mr. Bushido! He's not doing that Mr. Bushido thing any more though, which means he's the blandest Char in the series. At least Zeheart stuck with the mask all the way through, even if he had to undo all his development in arc 2 to remain a villain in arc 3.
Wild mass guess: Feldt= Aeolia Schenberg. Setsuna is dead. Princess Marina Ismail is Aeolia Schenberg's plan. Wait, why were Setsuna's brain cells damaged by talking to an alien? Also, Kira is officially no longer the most broken hero in the series. I'm sorry, but Kira never cut a line across the surface of a goddamn moon. And Kira, Ultimate Coordinator SEED bearer Newtype that he was, at least had to win some fights on his own without it all being predetermined by a nebulous plan no one has ever explained. More to the point, aside from SEED mode, Kira never pulled new powers out of his ass.
Terrible CGI ocean inside the mind of a giant space flower. Rin-ne No Lagrange did this infinitely better. Aliens fusing with planets to understand them was done better in Eureka Seven.
Also no way in hell did Aeolia Schenberg predict this bullshit. No way could he plan out a mind meld and WOULD YOU TWO STOP YOUR STUPID PRETENTIOUS POSTURING.

Also, Kira is officially no longer the most broken hero in the series. I'm sorry, but Kira never cut a line across the surface of a goddamn moon. And Kira, Ultimate Coordinator SEED bearer Newtype that he was, at least had to win some fights on his own without it all being predetermined by a nebulous plan no one has ever explained. More to the point, aside from SEED mode, Kira never pulled new powers out of his ass.
Terrible CGI ocean inside the mind of a giant space flower. Rin-ne No Lagrange did this infinitely better. Aliens fusing with planets to understand them was done better in Eureka Seven.

Unfortunately this episode just wasn't that good. I had hoped the writer had learned from his past blunders with the part I ending but I guess that wasn't the case. He just cant write an ending for beans. The first three minutes were the best part of the episode but then after that it was like everything just collapsed and fell apart. I even stopped the episode then, turned it off, and came back an hour later as it was just frustratingly and offensively bad.We go through this huge life or death ordeal and finally after finally managing to throw cars into what should be his grave, he just suddenly pops up and slashes Josephs arm off? What even, that is not how you end a story. Worst yet it was just bad thing after bad thing and made it too depressing. Then the death card was played, why? Fortunately there was a glimmer of hope as Joseph survived (albeit he did make another huge mistake of lead characters in a genre there), but I am glad that the writer at least left with some sort of joy after the big moment earlier this arc. Playing with my emotions is just not good and not how an ending should be.
Battle Tendency as a whole was actually really amazing and I can easily forgive this episode just on account of the resolution. The soundtrack is great, the characters both protagonists and antagonists were good, well except for Lisa Lisa, and just everything in terms of interactions, commentary, skills, and even suspense and intensity were just really genre defining. I cant imagine if this can even be topped in later parts which I hope get animated just so I can experience more of the series. Though I bet there is no comparison to Caesar and Joseph. At least they can still live on forever in the fandom. 9 / 10

I do it all the time, and it's usually unhealthy because sometimes shows are awful! I'll watch some pretty bad shit for Miyuki Sawashiro though.

The big deal was that there were a few of us who really liked the show, and almost everyone else who posted impressions really disliked it. Discussions were had.
Oh man, this reminds me they completely dropped the Plato's Dialogues subplot, which was supposedly the whole point of Aeolia's plan.
Sawashiro's a good one. My other weakness would probably Itou Shizuka and possibly Kaori Mizuhashi. When I heard Itou was in Amagami on Tokyo Encounter it really made me tempted to pick up the series even though I know it's probably a dreadful show.
