PokéBOMB 2: Electric Boogaloo (New X and Y info)

You're definitely not the only one. Reception is pretty well split, honestly. As for me, I don't have strong feelings one way or the other. I am keen on seeing how it's incorporated into the plot, however, so I'm glad it exists in that sense.

I'd say that there is more hate than there is love. It's a design that only some Pokemon fans will like, at first. Show it to any 20 something and the first reaction will most likely be "what is that shit why they be messin up my childhood"

It's not like I've been counting, but that's not really the impression I've gotten from watching this thread, or even browsing Twitter, for that matter. As for the nostalgia angle, I think as many people are excited to see a new twist on one of their old favourites as those who feel it's a desecration of their sacred cow.

However large and vocal it is, that's not where the majority of the fanbase is, though...

Pokemon X and Y, Genders, Team Jesse and Team James, they've broken up, and the Pokemon World has to suffer.

You just know it's going to happen.
This story is too good to be true. Pokemon will never be that great.

Was that tall grass behind new-mewtwo always there?

So it's either a form of Mewtwo or one of those "next gen pallet swaps".

I don't mind his design, but nothing can top the perfection that is Mewtwo:

How much is this and where can I buy it?

Gen 6, I expect great things from you already. Love all of these designs so far.

Yes, seriously. I cannot believe how good these designs have been so far. Only complaint with "Mewthree" is his head could be smaller and more angular, but I do seriously love the design. Xerneas is still my favorite this gen though.

I wonder, do we know what type Sylveon is? If its something new I wonder if "Mewthree" shares it.

Maybe if they haven't played Pokemon since their childhood. I think its pretty cool that Mewtwo is getting some attention again. I hope he has some sort of significance in the games and wasn't just thrown in so they could make a new movie.

It's new to this footage, I believe.

Either it's taking place in another location that's almost the same as prior ones with the exception of the tall grass, or Game Freak has been working on improving the in-battle environment bit by bit.

BTW, does anyone have a list of all previous gen Pokemon that appeared in any media regarding Pokemon X/Y? Would it be safe to assume all of those Pokemon are going to be catchable in game?

It's there in every other gif. I think it just means they are battling near a cliff.

I don't play Pokeman anymore but I feel like my childhood got raped hard.

Why mess with my Psychic bro.

I wanted him in his ragged cape or his armor

I was wondering this as well. Mostly just so I can start to suss out the regional dex.

Sadly, with new forms this is almost always the case, no?

Giratina and Kyurem's forms had a lot of plot stuff but they were cover legends. I'd like to think that Mewtwo's form being among the first new Pokemon shown off this generation means something.

Yeah, after letting it settle and seeing a wide array of fan art, I definitely don't like Mewthree. The fanart in my avatar is the only piece of art I've liked (loved) of it so far.

I'm still interested to see where they go with it though.

I wouldn't necessarily say Genesect is going to be catchable in game.

But here's the list:

Pikachu
Magikarp
Golurk
Munchlax
Kirlia
Pansear
Patrat
Litwick
Psyduck
Audino
Weavile
Hariyama
Gligar
Krokorok
Genesect
Rampardos
Cloyster
Gyarados
Machamp
Zangoose

Presumably their evos will be in there too, by intuition.

His face and his whole body just doesn't do it for me.

Mewtwo had this cat-humanoid look to him unlike Mew. This new guy looks like some reject from one of the new Gen legendries with Mewtwo's colors.

Thanks for the list. Well yes, barring Genesect since it was alluding to the movie. So these would presumably obtainable in-game in one way or another:

Pikachu (Pichu & Raichu)
Magikarp & Gyarados
Golurk (Golett)
Munchlax (Snorlax)
Kirlia (Ralts, Gardevoir, & Gallade)
Pansear (Simisear) [if they have this guy, then the other "Pans-" does seem likely to appear in the game]
Patrat (Watchog)
Litwick (Lampent & Chandelure)
Psyduck (Golduck)
Audino
Weavile (Sneasel)
Hariyama (Makuhita)
Gligar (Gliscor)
Krokorok (Sandile & Krookodile)
Rampardos (Cranidos)
Cloyster (Shellser)
Machamp (Machop & Machoke)
Zangoose [Seviper is like the opposite of Zangoose so this wouldn't be unexpected]

So I'm counting 45 Pokemon that are from previous gens can possibly be possibly be obtainable in the game from what has been revealed so far.

That entire Musketeer trio (quartet) is filled with terrible designs.

Seriously the most pointless thing ever, and it really felt they were only there to add more legendaries (and an event Poké) to the game. Same with the Kami trio

Yup. Add in all of the Eeveelutions too, since Sylveon exists.

Every game has a trio, the problem with BW is that they probably should have just chosen one. I'm not going to complain because I like both trios but it was kinda weird having two.

IMO, they had far too many legendaries. I don't like the Kami trio, but loved the Swords of Justice.

Yup. Add in all of the Eeveelutions too, since Sylveon exists.

Oh yea, so that means the count would be 53 so far with the assumptions made.

All that you need is a cover trio, a second trio, and an event Pokemon or two. If you really feel the need than add another two or three for fun

Gen 3 got it right. Gen 4 and 5 went way overboard.

What about Latios and Latias? Gen 3 was totally the start of too many legends.

I think I like the new Mewtwo Forme/evo/relative/whatever. Old Mewtwo still exists and is awesome, but this one seems more fitting for a digital age, considering he looks like he's wearing headphones. :>

In fact I might just call him Hatsune Mewku from now on!

I can't relate to the 'problem' of too many legendaries. I like catching legendaries, it's one of the more satisfying things to do in these games. The more the better, really.

I think the problem people have--and that even I have to a certain extent--is that having that many just makes them feel like special.
I just don't like event legendaries because I'm always too lazy to get online and grab them.

Welp. Now I don't like newtwo.

I think that 10 should be the most legends in one game. Anything more is overkill.

Gen 3 got it right in that there were only 8 obtainable legendaries between two versions (only 6 catchable in one version), plus 2 bonus event ones after the fact.

That is a hideous design, but I'll live with it if they say it's some long lost Mew clone, and not a Mewtwo forme/evolution.

I mostly agree. I think the design is ok, but I'll be really annoyed if it's a forme. Evolution doesn't really make sense as it looks weaker. Should just be another thing in that little group.

One thig I liked about Black 2 was the fact you can catch legendaries from previous gens in-game without doing anything other than some in-game event stuff. Had more legendaries, but didn give the feel of too many legendaries.

Gen IV had a big problem with too many legendaries and can be shown by the fact that Cresselia and Heatran really had no significance in the anime or the movies.

Gen V kind of was able to avoid that problem in the anime and the movies, but I just feel it was too much.
