Just because I can't not post this, here is the episode description for the two episodes that will air to close off Season 24 next month.

“The Saga of Carl Carlson” / “The Man Who Came to be Dinner” – One-Hour Season Finale Event

Homer, Moe, Lenny (Harry Shearer) and Carl (Hank Azaria) win the Springfield Lottery. But when Carl takes off to Iceland – his Homeland – with all the winnings, the guys embark on a Nordic adventure to rescue the cash. Then, the Simpsons board the wrong ride on a trip to “Dizzneeland” and are transported through the galaxy to Kang and Kodos’ home planet, where the inhabitants try to eat Homer in a giant fondue.

Considering the plot involves 'Our Favorite Family' travelling to Rigel VII and all. (And not even on Halloween.)
Although I suppose it guarantees we won't be in for a forgettable plot rehash.

You're crazy. The Lester and Eliza ending is amazing. That they haven't tried to revisit those characters in newer seasons is nothing short of amazing.

Okay, I think this gets my vote (until I see another one I love). That speech has to be my favorite performance in all of the Simpsons. The writing, the performance and the visual charisma, it's perfect on every level and perfectly encapsulates what this thread was about.

I would just like to go ahead and say that "classic simpsons [ot]" is far too sterile sounding, and I was always a fan of this thread being explicitly about "visual charisma." Do we really need to join the shitty OT bandwagon? Just keep the current thread title and stick a 2 in it someplace.

That's why I was a fan of the "Die Simpsons, Die" version, it completely skipped the Classic Simpsons title aspect of it.

A "sterile" thread title? You're putting way too much thought into it. I think the thread moved beyond just posting visual charisma about 4 years and 18,000 posts ago anyway. Discussion, quotes, gifs, etc should all be welcome.


Lots of great suggestions, but most of them are just good quotes that don't apply to the context of a thread. My vote would be this:
