I'm all about this game. There's time to polish it up, visually before it comes out.

No touch screen controls + top down view

It's going to be awesome.

so faithful to the original, i love it

For the first time I actually like the way they made Link look. It resembles the art from the early manuals. Keep going in this direction Nintendo. Win back your older fans.

So, is the overworld going to be the same in this game? I'm somewhat confused about that. Are they just changing the dungeons?

Looks that way. I'm sure there will be other changes as well though. If the Hyrule Historia has anything to say about it, no Zelda game really takes place in exactly the same place twice. Something's always off. Plus, the dark world technically won't exist because Ganondorf was defeated, so a new area will have to be created to make up for it.

Just some thoughts.

Comments about the art style are hilarious. After all the crap about NSMB not changing up the style, I have to ask what do you people want? For once Nintendo is actually taking a chance and moving out of its aesthetic comfort zone. This looks really nice, and like most 3DS games, will look even better on the 3DS.

Moving out of its aesthetic comfort zone? Lolwat, this looks exactly like the new Yoshi's Island, or NSMB, in other words, weird plasticy crap.

Come ooon, people can we have some other gif than this one please :p The game is looking really good actually!

I'm not really a zelda fan but my only sadness abut that is that i realize nintendo see this kind of game as fonctional only, gameplay only, for core gamers.

When they do a 2D Zelda, or Mario game, it's always completly focued on gameplay features, which.. is good of course, but what i mean is they don't design them as main titles with a strond story. I miss the time where Yoshi or Zelda, in 2D where the main event and had to be epic and shits. Now it's more a "hey hey let's iterate on that with new concepts, they'll like it!".

They kinda dropped the ball on that. If it's 2D, it's just a core gamer gameplay thing, it's not meant to impress anyone or give life to a world anymore.

Looks good to me. I've been asking for a New Legend of Zelda for portables for ages now, and while this isn't exactly that, it still looks pretty coo. I <3 Zelda! :D

an actual megaton. I don't think I'd be happy if some people didn't seem to violently hate the art style either. We can't just be excited about a megaton, we have to have a complete WAR about it.

I love the look. It's a fusion of Wind Waker (2D wall link is right out of the Wind Waker intro) and LTTP and I like it a lot.

Why are the hearts and magic on the bottom?

They should be at the top. THIS IS THE WORST SEQUEL TO A LINK TO THE PAST EVER. AUGHHHH.

Should be fun for younger 3DS fans who never played SNES games.

I was hoping for something different.

This is the first time I've ever complained about a Zelda art style.

And it's not even the whole art style, just Link.

And there's not really anything about him that can't be fixed. Make him look more natural and less like a plastic toy. That's all.

Meh, I like it. It's not my favorite artstyle, but it looks wonderful to me.

I don't get why people are hating nearly unanimously on the artstyle. I think it looks much nicer than the sorry attempt at Celda style they made with the DS games...

No touch screen controls
Was it confirmed? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this. Could never get into the touch controls, found them too gimmicky and simply not fun.

I WILL finally buy a 3DS for this. This is one of the games I've been waiting for. It looks amazing. Hell, I was playing ALTTP just 2 nights ago. haha. It's one of my favorite games of all time.

Yeah as long as they don't you ride a train for 40 minutes between missions or something it should do the job.

So this is New Legend of Zelda, basically. Classic gameplay + boring art style. Should we expect BAH BAH's in the music too? :D

Can't wait to see the trailer in 3D.

Looks cool, I personally hated both the DS Zelda games though. They were easily two of the worst games in the series.

Here's hoping this is more like LTTP (as it claims to be) and less like the last gen of portable entries to the franchise.

Surprisingly, yes, this is the first time I have kinda actually been grossed out over the visuals. Also I'm incredibly disappointed they didn't go full 3D

I don't get why they didn't just go with the Wind Waker style; everyone agrees it is the best Zelda has ever looked.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much

If you think that Yoshi's Island 3DS looks like NSMB you need to go to an eye doctor.

I get what you're saying but they look nothing alike. This Zelda games looks like LttP in 3D. The enemies are the same, the switches, the trees/grass/buildings and dungeon style is the same, the Link design is the same.

Hmm that could be cool depending on how its done. Its its literally a copy paste job, that would suck. But if its a "Several years later..." kind of thing with the world being changed, that could be pretty neat.

Hopefully the dark world doesn't exist. That wouldn't make sense.

You mean like the DS games? God no.

I think the fact that it's stuck SO closely to LTTP's style hurts it. The weird smiling buttons and bumpers were fine on SNES, but these days?

Makes it feel like an add-on rather than a game in it's own right. Early days however and I'm still hyped as fuck.

Might have to buy a 3DS.
