X-Men Origins: Wolverine was so good! (LUNGE ATTACK)

It was also ridiculous and OTT, but it worked! Here are some snippets from the first 10 minutes of the game.

RIP Raven (technically, as the minds behind Singularity, Wolfenstein and this are all long gone). It is pity we never got another one of these.

When I heard Raven Software was behind this, I knew it was gonna be pretty decent. They make(made ;_;) too many solid licensed games for that to happen.

Not exactly Bayonetta or anything, and my GOD did those big Wendigo fights go on forever(and play out exactly the same), but when you LUNGE across the damn screen into some fool with your claws, shit feels good

Loved the demo, worth getting the full game?

Yes. It can likely be got for a stupidly cheap price now too.

The game is pretty much a God of War clone. It goes from fighting a bunch of guys in a closed arena, before you move on to a climbing section, then to set pieces moments (see gifs).

The game works as the it kinda gets more ridiculous as it goes - trying to top the last set piece you just saw. Near the end you

I bought it after I saw the movie. I thought, well this shouldn't be worse than movie. And I was pleasantly surprised that X-men Wolverine was indeed very good game. They managed to capture spirit of the Wolverine :) Animations, gameplay everything was so good. It is a shame, that we won't see sequel to it :(

Yeah, I really enjoyed it. Solid game. I wouldn't even qualify it as a "solid licensed game." It's just a solid game.

Is it true that the Captain America game from a few years back is similarly good?

It's a game I've been meaning to get around to.

Wish those numbskulls at Activision would put the PC version up on Steam. Or any DD service, really.

I liked it, it's decent - it's like a lower budget version of Arkham Asylum.

I remember in the lead up to Arkham Asylum and the Wolverine game's release there was a lot of discussion at the AA forums over whether it would be better than Arkham Asylum or not. I think it's clear which was the winner haha...

Wait how do you get the skin from the comics????

- Classic Wolverine (blue/yellow) costume (on 360)

While playing the game, press A, X, B, X, A, Y, A, Y, A, X, B(2), X, click Right Analog-stick to unlock Wolverine's classic blue and yellow costume. If you entered the code correctly, you will hear a sound. Then, exit to the main menu, and switch costumes.

Eh. Sort of.
It was a God of War clone that did basic brawling better than the game they copied, but I always guessed they must have ran out of funds/time in the middle of development, because at some point the game started just recycling the same content over and over to unbearable degrees.

I enjoyed it, anyway.

Is the suit available on the ps3 too???

EDIT:

Looks like it!

It was ok, got a touch repetitive and it suffered from some poor level design in the latter stages of the game and one boss fight in particular was fucking awful but its worth a playthrough if you get it cheap enough.

edit - I forgot his clothes regenerate lol

I didn't know his classic costume was in the game.

I now have an excuse to replay this.

LOL i wasthinking the same thing. Sold my ps3 copy long ago and rebought on 360 for a second playthru but never got around to it. Guess its about time to shred some dudes.

Raven! Mad-town <3!

Classic Skin is definetly on PC and you can also unlock it by just playing the game, if I remember correctly

Kill all enemy soldiers but one. Turn the camera around to show wolverine from the front.
Walk slowly towards the frightened soldier while he shoots you.
Healing factor take care of the wounds. Then brutally kill the soldier.

So badass.

Speaking of Raven, how is Volfenshteen and Singularity? Worth 20$ all together?

I loved Singularity, and bits of it stick in my head still. It has some great moments. It plays like a somewhat limited version of Bioshock 1 - but with a stronger focus on shooting.

I remember liking Wolfenstein too (when I played it), but if you asked me about the game now, I could not remember specifics about it at all.

I think all three are worth it, but I would go Wolverine > Singularity > Wolfenstein in terms of quality/fun.
