You can access Miiverse on PS Vita but not on 3DS

Why would they need to make it an app? It's going to be part of the system, and will replace Friend Codes while at it.

There's just on catch though: You need to have a Miiverse account to get in, and the only way to get one is to *gasp* buy a Nintendo console that has it. WiiU at the moment is the only thing that supports Miiverse, but once it's integrated with the 3DS, you'd still need to get either-or-system to access it.

Think about it. Does Nintendo want Miiverse out everywhere? Yeah probably.

Does Sony want Nintendo advertizing on the Vita? Probably not.

Doubt either of them will add a block though, it's just silly.

Thats not the point, the point is sony wont mind Nintendo advertizing on Vita as long as there is a potential for anyone who owns a WiiU and a Miiverse account buying a Vita 3G to access Miiverse anywhere in the world via the browser, this is all hypothetical of course.

Vita isn't the only portable device that is having/will have access to miiverse. I just tried on my iphone, it works.

Are these tests even recent? Because both the 3DS and the Wii U have had some changes to their respective browsers on the latest updates.

I just checked it right now, 3DS still gets 109 on html5test. :/

This doesn't really surprise me though, but it just makes me want the 3DS version to hit sooner.

Not sure how recent all the tests are, but if you go on the site itself, http://www.html5test.com, it will tell you the score.

I just tried it on the 3DS, and it gives me a score of 109.

EDIT: I guess someone beat me to it lol.

I feel like they don't want to make the browser resource heavy because you can access the browser while playing a game. Does the Vita also have the ability to do that?

And again i say, not the point. I'm well aware that other devices can access miiverse not just Vita but my point is if it will improve the sale of Vita hypothetically, Sony wouldn't mind Nintendo advertizing on it. Which is a response to this post

Yes - but I'm often suspicious it's the cause of slow-downs and crashes with users who use it a lot. Not sure if it's still the case as I don't really use it but browsers usually have memory leaks don't they. Sometimes people mention the twitter/facebook(?) app as well. Who knows. But yeah it works, just tried it with guacamelee.

It's a pretty good browser though, just trying it with html5test for reference - 284 points.

That could be a cause. Though I imagine it wouldn't let you load the page if it is too resource heavy.

And wow, it must have been updated recently. 284 is a great score.

Anyone try Miiverse on uh... the Wii yet? Too lazy to try mine...

... Then again I suppose I could go into Wii U's Wii Mode to go on the Internet Channel and then go to Miiverse... @__@

I think that's the case about not-loading, heard someone mention it iirc.

284 is browser by itself, with guacamelee...it's the same, with NFS, same. Doesn't really use that much maybe. It mentions 4 bonus points as well.


Vita's extras are pretty awesome though, youtube is particularly great on it, also Skype if you use it [although no text chat]. Only thing it's really missing other than a cooler friend network (I think a miiverse rip-off is coming/was announced) is that I wish it tracked game time and gave you decent stats like Nintendo does instead of relying on games to include features in-game/or not. GR's playtime crapped out when I took out the cart.

That's impossible. At least indies want to make shit for the vita and Japanese developers are slowly moving onto it. The Wii U has NOTHING to look forward to except for Nintendo games. I have accepted this ever since the Nintendo 64. The glory days of NES and Snes will never return. Accept it. Sega changed Nintendo's fortunes FOREVER.
