  • 4 additional weapons: Hunting Horn, Bow, Gunlance, and Dual Sword. (8 vs. 12)

  • 5 additional small monsters. (17 vs. 22)

  • 32 additional large monsters, including new subspecies. (18 vs. 50)

  • G rank (ultra-hard) online quests.

  • Bowguns have been simplified and now come in pre-built Light and Heavy varieties.

  • The Wii U version has full Nintendo Network-integrated online. Voice chat is possible through the GamePad, and USB keyboards supported.

  • The Wii U version can play locally with up to three other Nintendo 3DS version players.

  • Online will be region-restricted at launch, however it will be made region-free (for non-Japanese versions) soon after release.

  • You can sync your save file between the two versions if you own both copies of the game. After you transfer, the save file on the version you transferred from will become "locked" until you transfer back.

  • The Nintendo 3DS version can't go online right now, but an app will be made available that will allow it to play online. Caveats: you have to own a Wii U (not the Wii U version, necessarily) and one of the players you're playing with online must be playing via the Wii U version.

  • Of course, the Nintendo 3DS version supports up to four-player local multiplayer. It does not support Download Play (all players must own a copy of the game.)

  1. Does this support off-TV play in the Wii U version?
Not yet, but a patch in April is coming which will add it.

  2. Zero compelling textures?!
The Wii U version is full 1080p and runs at a variable 30 to 45 frames-per-second. Nintendo 3DS version is mostly locked at 45 frames-per-second.

  3. What controllers does the Wii U version support?
The Wii U version supports the GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, and Wii Classic Controller/Pro. It does not include Tri's Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls.

  4. Are there demos available?
Yes, demos for both versions of the game are available. All twelve weapons from the final game are available as preconfigured hunters. The demo has two missions: an easy one against Lagombi and a harder one (which includes underwater sequences) against Plesioth. Both missions have a shorter time requirement: 20 minutes, as compared to 50 in the final game. The Wii U version demo is 890 MB, and the Nintendo 3DS version demo is 1615 blocks (about 200 MB.) Like other Wii U and Nintendo 3DS demos, they are limited to 30 uses.

  5. Will both versions be available digitally on release?
Yes, both versions will be in their respective eShops on day one.

  6. How big are the digital versions?
The Wii U version is 6.07 GB, and the Nintendo 3DS version is 14,275 blocks (1.78 GB.)

This was in the other thread but maybe someone can help here. Just looking for the most efficient way to farm good charms. Like handicraft.

"My best charm is + 5 fencing. But it has nothing else.

On that note, I need to farm some charms. Do you guys find it worth it to do explorer and suicide runs or just to do harvest? "

Put the charm tables info in the OP already. You are just potentially diminishing other people's enjoyment of the game by omitting the info.

Finally finished my Ingot S set off. Damn Gracium. :D Now to work on upgrading the bow.

Really need to gear up a bit more on the lower monsters before I move past HR4. Really stuck on a few of the multiple monster fights. Can never seem to down 1 fast enough. :D

I just farm volcano harvest tours. Only pack pick axes and nets and 1 cool drink or put on my LR ludroth armor if I plan on farming it for an extended period of time.

I got G-rank in MH3G and MHFU and I never made use of Dung Bombs, now I cant get enough of them.

Ever set a trap and then watch the monster move to another area? Dung Bomb him and he will move again, just did this and he went back to the room my trap was in. So good.

Get Guild X armor for the Charmer skill (can sometimes mine 2 charms at once). Harvest tour volcano, mine areas 8, 9 and 10 only (for Enduring charms and Ancient Shards). Farcaster back to camp, rinse and repeat quest.

so I just checked my charms table and apparently im in table 3. Is that good ?

Seems like that is a good one. Looking at a thread over at Minegarde "Table 3 is an All-purpose table. Especially rich in good evasion charms, but has the possibility for many skill setups with a Handicraft +4 OOO charm (with Sharpener -3)."

You can download Athena's program to see what's available to you.

That sounds good, I had a feeling it was a good one too since I got a lot of good charms in my charm run the other day. I'm glad I don't have to feel bummed out about this after 100+ hours.

I got all night to play now.
Trying to get Nargacuga Medulla for one of the Hidden weapons, but no luck so luck.

man, I just got two of those from the same fight and we all know why, I am not planning on making any Narga equipment any time soon.

OT2, brings a tear to my eye

tumblr_lqcp76aZlL1qdhq67o1_250.gif

but that's two tears, one from each eye!!

FINALLY GOT A ZINOGRE JASPER!

Just one, though.

But, I went and fought Zin again, and looted a random shiny, and BAM, 2ND ZIN JASPER.

Sadly, I need one electro fur in order to complete my Zin armor.

I just finished that set and you have a better chance of getting the furs by killing him and ya pick up all shiny since he can drop the jasper.

Miscellaneous

Kiranico - MH3U
A site (the best site IMO) that uses the database that Ping's program uses (the link below),
but is a site. It has weapon trees (that you can actually use CTRL+F on), monster pages
with complete drop rates, and an item search which tells you where you can find the item
and what it can be used for. It is also very mobile friendly (tested on my iPhone using
Google Chrome).

Ping's MH3GDex
A great program for Windows OS that contains information about many things such as
where can you get items, materials required for armors, weapons, and jewels, skills, and
more. It also is on Android as an app!

Athena's Armor Set Search for MH3U
A useful Windows application that can help you build sets that have the skills you want.
It is in English and is still being updated. This is probably going to be a hunter's best tool.

GameFAQs
Contains many helpful guides and tips about Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

Website of MH3GSD
A website that contains pictures of every weapon, guild card background, Shakalaka mask
descriptions, and a record of all DLC quests. A great resource for any images you need.
It also has an explanation of what VE Tickets are.

MHag Online App
It is a useful web-app that allows one to determine an ideal (armor) set. It also gives an
easy way to share these sets. Sadly, it refers to monsters and the materials in Japanese.
It is being updated, so that will change soon. There is also a program version.

MHag Application
This is a program that can be used on any OS that supports Java. It is similar to its online
version, but also has a feature that allows you to determine sets based on the skills you
want. However, this hasn't been updated for a long time and refers to monsters armors in
their Japanese names.

What are VE Tickets
This topic explains what the hell VE Tickets do and trust me, you would love it lol.

Charm Tables
There are 17 Charm Tables. Each of the 17 Charm Tables have different charms available.
This can be used to maximize sets with skills (skills are basically effects/abilities that can
help or negatively affect your character). These links are going to help you with Charm
Tables.

Everything About Charm Tables
This is a post on another forum that has an explanation of which charm table is good for
each type of weapon. It also says what each charm table is known for having that is good.
And there is a video there showing how to manipulate which charm table you will obtain.

Charm Table Searcher
Once you send a ship off to fish, you will get a haul. Now you want to note down what you
got and how much of each items you got and enter it into the table in order of how you got
it as shown in the image below. You want to keep on entering in hauls until you only get
one table that has a 'O'.

Which weapon should I go for, I really can't decide: Thunderclap (long sword) or Bolt Axe (switch axe)?

I also just got the Chainslaughter and its pretty awesome.

This should be the body of the OT. OT's shouldn't be advertisements for their respective games, they should have helpful information for gaffers. Fix this shit!

hey gaf, what's the best way to gem the Lucent Narga (blademaster) Armor?

Try to get rid of Bad Luck with a Fate/Evasion OO charm. You can gem in Evasion +1, then you've got an awesome offensive/defensive set with Sharpness +1, Attack Up (L), Wellness and Challenger +1.
