Is there a chance they will only announce a PS3 version for now, to not steal DriveClub's thunder?

I'm still holding out hope that this will be PS3, Vita and PS4.

they could announce a PS4 date for spring/early 2014 which wouldn't impact drive club too much

If they release this on the PS3 I will be flabbergasted. As a business decision, it is downright terrible. Sales have been declining over the past few months and who in their right mind is really going to want to invest in a 7 year old machine when the new and improved PS4 is just around the corner.

I'd really like to see a GT6 Prologue feat. Academy with Cross Buy for PS3/Vita.
Obviously, then PS4 gets GT6.

I'm prepared to be disappointed.

It's sales will be hampered by releasing on PS4 only, Sony can only sell 10mil at most in it's first year, and maybe up to 50% of those will buy GT6 if it's exclusive to the platform, that's a best case scenario and it's less that the series has proven capable of selling on a platform with a large installed base. But at the same time I think it'll damaging to the PS4 to release it on PS3 only, and a huge opportunity lost. Cross-platform is therefore the only way to go!

GT6 will NOT sell 10m particularly as the PS3 is nearing the end of it's lifecycle. I think anything above 8 million is optimistic.

There's little point in speculating that it isn't going to at the very least be a PS3 game. There's no way that Denny slipped up on the platform that it's on.

People keep on mentioning cross platform but no one has addressed my points earlier in the thread. I would love to see it happen, but how likely is it for them to have a cross platform game when the Cell architecture is so drastically different from what the PS4 has and it took them years to make GT5 even though that game was for one console.

Releasing GT6 as a PS3 exclusive this fall will decrease the chances of PS4 hitting the Euro land this year....

The same way it's possible for Assassin's Creed, Thief, Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein and several other games to be cross platform.

Probably because people are tired of hearing about how 'PD are so slow' and 'PD are so inefficient' when nothing could be further from the truth. For the size of the studio they are ridiculously productive and GT5 was not in full development from the release of GT4 onwards so you can't use that time period as a measure of how long GT5 took.

Sony Santa Monica commented on that

With high definition remasters of the series already a proven success on PS3, the potential in a deluxe 1080p60 rendition of the God of War series on PS4 is compelling. Kratos' first two outings scaled up remarkably well to 720p and it's easy to see how well the rich detail in current-gen God of War titles would translate at 1080p to the next generation. But would such a port be easy, bearing in mind how closely Sony Santa Monica tailored its code for the PS3's unique architecture?

"It could be done. The PS4 hardware is such a big leap forward in terms of graphics power compared to the PS3 that we probably wouldn't need to go that far. Most if not all of the SPU techniques we developed and used on PS3 were there to reduce the RSX workload. With the PS4 GPU we probably wouldn't need those techniques."

Not this again... You do realize the ps3 has yet to hit $199 and there will be a much larger user base at GT6's launch compared to GT5's right?

Don't think it's the vette. Also don't think it's the viper. That ferrari posted above doesn't have a rise at the tail, so I doubt that's it either.

Like I've said before, could easily be an in-engine render with in-engine cloth physics, so the measurements may be slightly off. ;)

The announcement flyer should have look like this...

they need to give us audiophiles a glimmer of hope (that sounds will be vastly improved).

It's some crazy Jaguar F-Type 'R' or something under the cloth. Something that hasn't been officially unveiled yet. That's my theory anyway.

I wonder if it's worth me crashing this event dressed as a crying Vita?

If its a BRZ, this is definitely a GT Academy announcement. While the BRZ/FRS are great cars, they arn't exotic enough to be on the cover of GT6.

BRZ confirmed for GT Academy 2013?
