Even John Carmack (a brutal critic of Sony's PS3) said that they made a lot of wise engineering decisions on the PS4.

It's not so much about "magnificence" as it is about doing everything in their power to make a dev friendly system, that's extremely powerful for the power footprint they are currently constrained with, and that features a lot of innovative features like media sharing.

And when you have a company that has come out and announced pretty much the ideal specs and features for a console, it's hard for me to imagine their competitor "blowing them out of the water". Microsoft could match, or even slightly exceed, but I have serious doubts as to their ability to greatly exceed.

Gotta disagree with you there. If they had an event at night in Europe it wouldn't be mentioned in the evening TV news or the papers the next day.

They wont have 1+ year of head start this time around, they need to offer great services in Europe and do a better job at understanding that market, even a fumbling Sony overtook Europe which never should have happened as the 360 was doing really well here in 2005-2007.

They need to rebuild Live for Europe completely

I think it's weird that there's a kind of general conception that to even be relevant MS have to blow the lid off E3 or the announce. Sony rock up with sequels to their two most boring IPs and a decent-looking (if unoriginal) racing game and suddenly nothing short of Microsoft announcing SEVEN HUNDRED NEW IPS AND ALSO RESURRECTING KILLER INSTINCT AND HAVING EXCLUSIVE GTA6 7 AND 8 is going to make an impact. It all seems a bit silly.

Tis the life of MS they must come out all guns blazing but I assure as soon as one thing kinect is shown the entire ms event will be discredited by a few, lol. It's one of the other reason why the 21 is going to be interesting to see the gaf reaction

RAM with 2.5x bandwidth and a GPU with 50% more processing power compared to the rumors about Xbox specs. I always find it amazing how people are insulting others as fanboys or "Sony defense force" just because they are pointing out the obvious. To me this is a much bigger sign of acting like a "fanboy". I want a console which has the best hardware and best performance. In 2005 it was the Xbox 360, and I was there at day 1. But if the Xbox 3 won't be better as the rumored specs, I will most likely not buy it. And it will be only Microsoft's fault at this point.

They did say they were going to reveal their next-gen EA sports engine at EA.

I think accessories may come in various colours but they'll keep the console SKUs the same for the sake of keeping the number of SKUs down. They might do a premium/subsidized split but I doubt it. I'm thinking one for all.

Surface is such a beautiful product, I hope they continue with that kind of sleek but not boring design.

Probably my favorite sports franchise. As an American that didn't know much about the game besides from when I played when I was a kid, but the earlier games taught me what it was all about and got me interested in watching the sport. Now I love watching a match just like the MLB, NHL, NFL, etc. and I even have a favorite team I've been rooting for more than a decade now.

I fully expect them to do the opposite and focus on services most. They'll do a bullet pointed list, but they'll move on from it quick because they have less time and generally things they think are more important to convey like services/games/NUI.

Considering its going to be broadcast on TV, and if the rumors are true that it is less powerful than the PS4, then i do not think they will say much about it at all, mostly tell us how Kinect has improved.

Would be unwise of them to boast about hardware that is weaker than their main competitor (if it is weaker)

I doubt as much. Sony milked the two hours for all that it was worth. I just want MS to give a quick rundown, then jump straight into games and the OS. They can always release a video afterwards going in depth about the specs.
