I bet MGSV will be on PS4, no idea if it will be exclusive in any way.

I do wonder if Kojima will officially announce it for PS4 at E3, maybe with a trailer of some sort. It's quite obvious it will be on nextgen systems, and is extremely unlikely to be xbox exclusive.

lol, this seems the case and we'll have to wait until the 21st to see who's rumors were true.

If Microsoft's next console (as expected) has worse specs than the PS4 they will neither highlight that at their conference nor put out a detailed specifications sheet. We probably won't know about their hardware in definite terms come Tuesday.

Oh man I chuckle every time I see someone suggest dota or LoL for ps4, I imagine the people suggesting this never played a moba before.
It just wouldn't work without axing almost all of the gameplay core of mobas.

I don't expect spec talk on Ms conference. But if Ms doesn't even release a spec sheet after the event then it's safe to say Durango will be weaker.

It wouldn't massively benefit either company to lock down a next-gen exclusive version, most of the sales will still go to PS3/360. I can see it being cross-gen / PC though at this point and potentially may get an on stage demo at Sony's conference to show off the tech on next generation hardware.

I'd have to agree with this. I doubt they're stupid enough to lose the potential sells they can get for the other platforms. Just look at all those exclusives 360 got in the early years, many of them eventually went Multiplat.

You'll see it announced for PS4 within a year of it launching. It's an EA game, they don't do games that are exclusive forever, especially if there's another platform they could make money on.

I kinda expect MGSV to be on Sony presser next gen version shown for the first time. Dunno if exclusive but I can totally see them doing the MGS+FF one two punch for old PS crowd.

MGS4 is prolly still seen as the single game that started the PS3 rise from the grave at Sony too.

I don't think it matters at this point.

MGSV may be multiplatform with some exclusive dlc to playstation consoles and thats probably it. It will still sell the best on the console where the series (the "Solid" series atleast) found its original footing.

Of course it wouldn't work on PS4 with standard controllers, but you forget that PS3 has mouse and keyboard support. I think people regularly use it in certain games like Unreal, Home, Dust 514, I dont know what honestly supports it.

I personally use it alot in Littlebigplanet 2. Much better than typing through the PS text.

That being said, I think Xbox might follow with the wiiU with the large ass tablet screen as a controller input to try and screw Sony and get an exclusive MOBA.

I remember when Kojima on MS stage was a big deal and then they totally forgot about Rising after that :lol. Ended up selling way more on PS (well no surprise) and had exclusive DLC.

Don't think anyone cares much about them outside of their already ps-exclusive IPs.

what?

are you saying that the only good insomniac games are the ones that are PS-excklusive, because they are exclusive?

this explains why their games are so overrated (as well as Guerillas games)

I dont know about Tuesday, but they cant keep their specs hidden forever. I expect them to hype up the specs and try to convince us that it is even more powerful than the PS4. Even though dev's have indicated that the PS4 has more power for gaming purposes, people will believe the hype from MS.

What Kojima will do and when is worthless to speculate on. Unpredictability/trolling/ridiculousness awaits you if you try.

Actually he is the most predictable person the industry has. You can trust that he will always work on the next Metal Gear until he dies even if he swears this one will be his last.

Remember the ''passing on the torch'' moment from MS presser with Rising? Fuckin lol.

One day he'll actually direct a movie and you're going to look stupid for this comment! ;)

To be fair he gave his team over a year to prove themselves with Rising.

In the end he had to scrap everything and hire Platinum.

Yeah, no spec sheet pretty much confirms Sony's hardware is better.

Not only E3 2009 but TGS 2009 as well. 2010 too actually. I guess MS stopped caring about it when it got rebooted.

To be honest though, thinking about the conference as a whole I don't think Sony really needs a massive amount of 3rd party exclusive announcements. It'll be 2 hours of mostly new game announcements / next gen footage and console talk and that's exciting enough.

We're likely to get in the space of one conference -

New footage of:
- Infamous Second Son, Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack, DriveClub

Announcements / gameplay / trailers for:
Sony Santa Monica's new IP, Media Molecule's new IP, Ready at Dawn's new IP, The Last Guardian PS4, Final Fantasy XV (supposedly exclusive)

Then there will likely be a couple of multi-platform games with exclusive DLC
And maybe one other big game announcement to end the show (My bet is on Kingdom Hearts 3, Uncharted 4 or Agent).

That's a fairly safe scenario and it's full of great and mostly exclusive content.

I wonder what ever became of the Director of KP's MGS Rising.

Dude must have been busted down to iOS Dance Dance Revolution games or something.

I think Insomniac biggest value to Sony in the PS3 era was them being able to ship a well received game every year for like 4 years. They helped filled in the waiting gap between the Uncharteds, GOWs and other big system sellers.

But now that Sony has multiple team studios, they are probably less valuable. Thats my guess.

Honestly, at this juncture, most of the so called speculation are products of an over active imaginations trying to justify future purchase and staving off insecurity arising from showing public allegiance to one of the big three (well, big two).

Things will play out the way things have been planned by the powers that be regardless of all the extraneous influence and circumstance.

Unlikely we'll see Naughty Dog until the VGAs

That's a really reasonable way of looking at things actually. They helped fill a drought, but now that third parties don't really do exclusives that much anymore, save for these ones at the beginning of the gen, there's less of a game shortage than expected. So, studios like Insomniac fell out of favour...

Exactly what I'm thinking. They've announced their last three games at the VGAs and it would be a good way for Sony to get a lot of attention right before the holidays woth something like an Uncharted 4 announcement.

A lot of wishful thinking here. I wish this was true but you have to remember they have a lot to cover with ps4/ps3/vita. If they get half of that stuff in I'll be happy.
Also, I have a bad feeling that we won't see The Last Guardian at E3 at all...

The studio I am most curious about is Ready at Dawn. What have they been cooking for the past 3 years.

I'm very curious about what they are making as well. I also want to know what Sony Bend is making, that's assuming that IGN article about Every Sony-Owned Studio is working on a PS4 game is true.

All I want is MAG 2 or any successor to 256 player online gaming. That was the coolest shit back in the day. RIP Zipper Interactive

They can finally get out of the shadow of SSM. Making GOW lite games means I'm still skeptical about them but there is talent there and they could become a very prominent console developer... if they don't make generic FPS or shooter games which is exactly what ruined Insomniac in my eyes.

I do wonder if we will see any new next gen stuff from Konami or Capcom. I am interested what they have in store.

Sony should moneyhat Silent Hill and let Team Siren make it.

Actually no, I need my Gravity Rush 2!
