RUMOR: 3DS finally hacked?

Well they never did, except for outliers like Kid Icarus that aren't available to download.

Really?

If I'm going out and about way from home, I'd rather not take all of my carts with me. For 1. convenience, and 2. If I lost them, id be fucked.

I'd love a decent flashcart for the 3DS. Not all my games are digital, and I don't fancy rebuying them when I already have the physical versions - especially with Nintendo's shitty digital system.

Nope. None whatsoever that I can see. The questionable "Bu-bu-bu all my games on 1 card!" crowd have no defense here.
Not that I disagree that it has no use outside of piracy, did you happen to miss this post?

Region locked games? Could be an acceptable solution for those people that don't want to buy the same portable 2 times.

Does it play games from other regions? I don't see any indication of that.

No I watched the video, I see they've got it working one game per card. Thus, the argument of "I don't want to carry loads of game cards around with me" is moot so far.
Okay. And the post I linked to said the video is old and that they now have a game loader.

Oh! I apologize, poor reading comprehension. So it's advanced then, that's a shame if it doesn't fix region locking or anything of the sort. Did piracy negatively affect the original DS a lot? I knew a load of kids who owned an R4.

uh, why would that crowd be questionable considering how awful nintendo's dlc policies are

I mean it doesn't apply here since it's only one game per cart but if it wasn't then yeah

That statement's a bit confusing, as why wouldn't they just make another video showing the loader? I doubt they only had the capability to make a video that one time. I mean even the 3DS can record video, and even a terrible quality video showing the loader would be better than just saying there's one and uploading an old video.

I find it a hard pill to swallow going on personal anecdotal evidence, that's all. I'm sure there were legitimately people who used their R4 cards to store the games they'd legitimately bought and nothing else, but I never met such a person.

cool but that doesn't give you the right to imply people are pirates for saying they want to do something that makes sense

Something that actually Nintendo lets you doing, by buying from the eShop, you know...
it helps to read posts

maybe once nintendo leaves 1997 for their online shop their DD will be viable, but until then I'll stick to buying retail and will use a solution that lets me carry all my games at once when available

I'm amazed it took them this long. Nintendo must have had some very serious protection in their system.

So. Is there any benefits apart from piracy. Can you now run homebrew, emulators etc... and are homebrew devs actually working on them.

It would be nice to play something like SM64 in 3D.

Would you be able to load a game from any region through this I wonder? Even if it isn't legitimate region free it's still something.

Nope.

Took me a while to get my head around everyone saying "it's only one game" despite one of the first posts saying it's not only one game

Will get it if it allows region free somehow, even if it requires me to never update. We all know that sooner or later Nintendo will stop updating and the flash cards will win, anyway. That's very long term though.

edit: logically, if they can run roms, can't they run roms which had their region "changed" through some kind of patcher? that would provide region free

theoretically:

- having your retail games on a single cart
- circumventing region lock

Maybe because now you are able to carry several games in one or more SD cards, buying them from the eShop.

Well, this one can actually help you carrying all your games at once, also:

I don't know why everyone here on GAF is making such a big deal about this. According to the DRM thread, anyone who would pirate a game wouldn't buy it anyway - no lost sale. So why the hate, GAF?
