I'm not sure, as Sony where supposed to be using the same company which handled Google's TV adverts if I'm not mistaken.

Lead the PR for the PS4.
Increase awareness of the PS3/Vita etc.
Also help in the PR for some Sony games, such as Beyond: Two Souls.
Nothing different. There are only so many avenues one can use for PR. Billboards, tv, internet etc. It will stay the same.

So, essentially, they're another PR firm.

That's why the embargoes for those things will be up this week. There will be coverage of them pre-E3. There already has been to an extent, and they'll be on the show floor.

Is anyone really expecting major game-changing showings from either Sony or MS? I've heard several times about platform holders going all out over the past few years, and most years the standard isn't even close to what it's being hyped to be.

Still expect Sony to be better than MS, but consider me skeptical for now.

Why would Gabe love the direction it's taking, when Playstation wants to challenge Steam for same content creators?

Playstation is actively poaching talent from the Steam ecosystem, and spreading the word through those developers they're an equally viable platform. If not more viable, in terms of sales potential.

The Xbox reveal was perfect timing for me, and usually the Tuesday Sony E3 conference lands at the same kind of time. So that's a little annoying, it's a late nighter, now.

Valve will support PS4, console sales are still a huge part of their packaged game revenue.

And where has that revenue been since Portal 2? Their packaged business is probably the least of their earners nowadays. Not that I disagree, just pointing it out.

They haven't released a retail game since then, so I don't see your point. Portal 2 wasn't a decade ago, it was two years ago, a lot of studios don't put out games more frequently than that.

Half-Life 3 will be a retail game, and it will be on PS4, and it will make a lot of money.

Why would they be allowed to speculate when their site is representing an official "virtual E3" experience? It just seems odd if they are able to just post whatever they want to just because they think it may be at E3.

The site was made for official coverage of E3 and had its own Twitter and stuff too before being absorbed into @E3expo or something.
