So they say something that objectively sucks is a pro and they're being nitpicky to give the game "only an 88"?

Yeah, here we go.

I'm not talking about the 88% score, because that is a fantastic score. I really can't wait to play this game but the synchronisation point is totally... I don't even know what it is... it's just not right. German GamePro anyway lost huge quality and respect a very long time ago.

Have you heard the German voices?

I know, not talking about you, just saying that the "omg only 88??" "ah they're not on metacritic so it's irrelevant" "they're being nitpicky!!" posts become even more ridiculous when you consider that one of their pros is actually objectively bad. So much for being nitpicky.

Yeah, thread's taken a shitty turn over the last few pages as the print reviews have started emerging.

It would be glorious if Jeff Gerstmann broke with Giantbomb's tradition review system just to give this game an 88%.

Oh the memories.

Speaking about dubs, I really hope they'll use the same system as the demo for the voices, you just download the game with one dub and you can download other from inside the game if you so desire, that would make the base download size much smaller.

Yes I do and they come from hell.

Oh okay, sorry for the misunderstanding but you are right.
I also hate this.

Are any type of quick looks allowed today, or is that embargoed until the release day? I know the guy that's been linked to on Youtube said that he'd only be using footage for the demo for his initial review, but he may go back and include newer scenes later on.

No such thing when it comes to reviews. I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just saying it's a good idea to realize that nothing about this process is objective, that way nothing you see in a review will ever bother you.

I heard from a pre-review video that Sony had super strict review guidelines about what story events and scenarios could and couldn't be mentioned and that video reviews could only use short clips from specific moments in the game

True? And if so, is the beginning included in that "can't be mentioned" group? Really don't want the opening to be spoiled, if it's as incredibly awesome as I've been hearing

True and true, Sony was very specific about what could not be talked about, including the first hour or two of the game. i don't talk about any specific game situations in my review, just the general overall feel of the game and the gameplay.

It's definitely not going to be for everybody. it's a slow paced game with limited resources, people looking for "Uncharted with zombies" will be very disappointed.

I just found out the MP has no infected at all in it, it gets lamer the more I hear about it

So when do these review actually go live? I'm looking forward to the rev3 games one with Sessler.

Someone posted a tweet here yesterday from rev3 stating the review would be up this morning, any idea what time that would be?

1 hour 5 minutes
EDIT: My GAF tag should be "Forever beaten" :(

No quick looks allowed until release day. Patrick from GB said that they can use 5 thirty second clips of footage for the review.

Such as writing a love letter style review that the fans want to read instead of presenting valuable criticism?

...See what I did there?

Well believe it or not, there are some people who actually really LOVE the game they just played...

Usually it's mostly the hype...since most "real" cons are usually found when you have time to sink things in, and have time to reflect on what you just played.

Considering most of these reviewers are rushing through this game, and rushing to finish there review, than I'm not surprised to see love letters.

Yes, I believe there is such thing. Just look how happy the brazilian community is about The Last of Us synchronisation now after Sony changed the synch studio, investing more money regarding a practical localisation for the first time. Money equals quality (regardind synch) and it's especially recognizable when you have a comparison from studios previous work. Of course there is such a thing like "I don't care at all" but you can't smear honey on something which lost it's entire quality, imo.
