Microsoft cancels post-E3 media roundtable

Makes sense based on the rumors that they are having problems, the fake presentation, and that Sony caught them off guard
I don't believe sony did. MS just have a different vision for xbox since the first xbox was released. They only wanted to win the home entertainment system. And the key to that was the gaming at first.

it's ok, you're all right now
"Sony sends their regards."

Holy fucking shit, hahaha.

"Sony sends their regards."

People were banned for using that gif (the original) because
of implied spoilers
. You used the altered one with Mattrick and Kaz but beware. Not sure how heavy the mods are on the use of this one.

GAF is a minefield already and E3 hasn't even started :p

OT: I always enjoy E3 roundtables so sadly there's none like it from MSoft. It was a roundtable where the hallowed Chris Remo delivered the holy message of Pikmin 3 to us.

How do you spoil a television series based on a book lol

Funny gif, but I have to question the reasoning behind complaining about a lack of BC. It's not like Sony are offering any kind of BC at launch and their promises of Gaikai being used to fill that gap have yet to be detailed or proven to be a viable method for BC.

You should go into OT and see the minefield in the threads committed to the TV show just after it aired. GAF is heavy on spoilers. I got chewed out yesterday for speculating in the Last of Us TV-spot thread. Beware what you post.

There were a lot of casualties in that thread. It was an eye opener!

I wonder if microsoft anticipated the reception will be this much of a disaster for the x1? I mean, I was really excited for it, but it's very rarely you see a company just go up there when it's time to shine and just flat out say all the wrong things and talk about shit that the people that were just shaking with excitement and marked your shitty conference on their calendar couldn't possibly care less about.

This seems the most appropriate place atm for questions about MS and their advertising. Have any of their adverts stated 'requires internet connection'?

Only reason I ask is that I was warning my dad off one for my brothers and he wasn't aware of the internet connection. Basically are there going to be a lot of parents suddenly complaining that little Timmy's games don't work and they had no idea the internet was needed.

The advertisements are going to HAVE to state that in the UK, otherwise OFCOM will ban them outright.

That's what I'm thinking. I've seen two/three televised adverts so far for XBone and haven't seen any any mention of it.

Probably because it isn't out yet. Once it's out, and the issue is known, there will be a shitstorm here in the UK from the public, retail and Ofcom alike.

Having worked games retail for five years prior to now, I know that the anti used games and anti lending DRM will piss off a LOT of people here. What's worrying is that a lot of the casual public wouldn't know about these restrictions, even after the articles in the gaming press. It's not something Microsoft is likely to publicize either, for obvious reasons.

when they get their consoles at launch, then they will know. And they will be angry.

It all changed after DAT 8 GB GDDR5.

Srsly. With the original amount of global memory available (4 GB) the PS4 could only have been a PS2 ver. 2.0. It could not have fostered a large social/media entertainment environment due to the memory footprint of all those programmes running in the background (would've quickly maxed out their alotted memory budget, or started eating into game quality). Having their environment constraints suddenly dropped means the PS4 can, theoretically and if Sony so wishes, do the exact same things the Xbone can (minus the Kinec2.0 stuff, obviously) cheaper (since their process is based on a simpler, easier to build arch). In fact, thanks to Vita's global remote play (just add Gbit WiFi) it can do more.

MS is in HFS mode for a simple reason: up until now, an architecture followed the old adage: cheap, simple, powerful, pick any two. They themselves only managed to pick one, due to various causes, related mostly to corporate positioning. Owing to Cerny's fanatical belief in the memory producers' abilities, and a stroke of good luck on the latters' part, Sony managed to pick all three. MS doesn't have to fight only Google (who haven't made a move yet), or Apple (whose AppleTV kinda whiffed), but also their main intra-industry rival, who got mad lucky.

This. Everyone thought that Sony would have 4GB GDDR5. But they could up it to 8 like just before the conference. MS chose slower mem to get a garantueed 8GB from the start, so they had to waste silicon on ESRAM. Silicon Sony is using for a better GPU.

Despite its gleaming exterior, cracks are starting to show on Xbox One's surface. Word on the street is that the Xbone is a disaster. The outlook for this console is grim, akin to disaster that is the Wii U. Microsoft lost sight of the audience the Xbox 360 appealed to. If there is one thing a console must excel at, its playing games! They were on top of the mountain, but now when they look out the window they see a dark cloud looming over their once enviable vista. I can only imagine what Ballmer is thinking as he broods in his office.

MS cancelling one-on-one interviews as well? Patrick Klepek just tweeted:

"Microsoft cancelled my one-on-one interviews with Xbox executives at E3. Bummer."

Sessler posted something about one of his appointments being cancelled as well...

The juice thickens. Are they cancelling with no reasons given lol

Ironic that Sessler was one of the first journalists to said "Wait for E3" for all the answers.

Guess we will have to wait a little bit longer.

I've not seen any reasons given...

Marcus Beer: "After canceling the post e3 round table for media, Microsoft are now canceling interviews? How deep a hole are they trying to dig??"

Looks like it's widespread

If I had something to hide I'd sure as hell avoid Klepek.

This silent treatment is hilarious. It'll end up being as smart a move as running from the cops.

GI.biz suggested the same earlier but I thought maybe it was a mixup. Can't believe there won't be any interviews at all (?)
To me, if there are any interviews, this makes their content more suspect. After all, why would those interviews be allowed to proceed when so many were canceled?

A couple other players offer full BC.

I wont trust a word coming from them at E3 now, theres too much of this going on. Its pretty clear they are either dropping negative bombs or hoping to totally dodge the questions at e3.

Wrong approach IMO. I can't get excited for any games they show with all the unanswered questions about the console itself. Seriously don't even want the thing at this point.
