I hope FF XV or Versus is the one to hook me on the series, or on JRPG's in general.
As far as FF's go, I've tried XII and XIII and didn't really like either. When it comes to JRPG's, I've tried Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, and a few others but none of them have really caught me.

Basically the assumption is that publishers will favor X1 due to its DRM scheme. Of course, this idea presumes publishers are ok with cutting their audience in half.

Pretty certain Sony has always dropped price information at E3. Don't see why they wouldn't, MS will not be able to undercut them at $399.

If they get it low enough... it would be smartest to announce at E3. Put the pressure on MS to keep bumbling.
Hitting first then sitting back and watching MS fumble has been a solid strategy so far... why change?

It would be pretty awesome if Microsoft releases their price during their conference. Then during Sony's conference, they can counter doing something like their $299 bomb back in E3 1995. I'm predicting $399 for the Xbox One and $349 for the PS4. So, Kaz comes on stage for a brief moment and says "349".

I don't think they will have a moment in the conference like they did last time. I think the price will come out within an hour or two afterwards.

MS might have a subsidized subscription SKU though... which could be trouble for Sony.

I got shit for it in the price prediction thread, but I think they'll go with $379. Yeah it's an odd number but I think they want to be profitable on the system. Patcher thinks it'll be $350 (which also got laughs all around; Amir0x will literally eat a hat if it's that price, and post a video of it on YouTube) but I think that will be taking a loss on the first few rounds of the console being released (its BOM is lower than that but initial runs tend to be the most costly of anything).
Kinda pushing it don't ya think these are supposed to be out by the end of the year neither can make big changes at this point hell im sure they have started mass producing them already nothing can be done now unless they want to take a bigger loss just for a competitive edge.

I think MS will do this. IT fits in with their current model. It sounds like a good idea and lots of people won't have the sense to know you eventually end up paying more. A big flashy cheap price would draw attention away for the bullshit.
I believe Thurrott said Microsoft is rumored to be scrapping the subscription model.

Sub is cool. They could market it as a contracted phone. So the whole online check won't matter
$399/399/£329 as the lowest point of entry UNLESS they offer some kind of subsidy like $200 down, 24 monthly payments of $15 which also gets you PS+.

I think Sony will come out sooner and be cheaper than the xbone. I'm thinking it launches in October. The month headstart can be a big advantage over ms, especially at a lower price with more stock available throughout the holidays.

I can't wait to see Level 5's PS4 game. Hopefully it's closer to NnK than WKC.
I just skipped around through 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 E3 conferences. Sony should emulate 2009 if they can with a few modifications...less time spent on handhelds and dead platforms (Sony talked about PS2!!! in 2009). They showed game after game, even some dudders. Like MAG. Lol. They even had an exclusive FF13 trailer in 2009 that filled everyone with hope that the game might turn out good. TRICO, GT5, Modnation, Uncharted 2, AC2, etc. They should mimic that show.
As base yes.
Maybe they'll make a bundle with Vita once price of both decreases.

Because one of the bigger rumors out there is that Microsoft has budgeted an excessively large amount of money to exclusives (full or timed) in an effort to a) make people quickly forget bad press and B) start this gen with large advantage in that regards.
But the wheel turns.

I played and really liked the demo for Ni No Kuni, but it's hard to just drop 40$ on a game in a genre you're cold on, especially with a bunch of other great games coming out.
Do you mean the True Fantasy Live Online game that they failed to do with Microsoft?
