Looks awesome!! :D

Thank God these games still exist.

Character brawlers? Im pretty sure those are dime a dozen

Its kind of weird when the new Devil May Cry has more platforming in it than the game people keep saying reminds them of old platformers.

It kind of bums me out just how bland the gameplay in this game looks. Also the character interaction with the world is lacking.

Looks good especially for a launch title. I don't get why people expect top-notch graphics in launch title that is has a very kid based art style.

It's just... It doesn't look terrible or anything but stuff like Rayman Legends and Puppeteer really overshadow it. Even the new Mario that I think looks very mediocre for a flagship title. I guess Knack isn't exactly what I expected it to be. There seems to be literally zero traditional platforming elements.

The best part about this video was the 9 min mark when someone in the background was playing that Eye of the Tiger musical level from Rayman Legends. I wanted teh camera dudes to go wander off and film that instead.

I just can't believe the gave Mark Cerny carte blanche and this is what he came up with. It just looks so generic and lifeless.

I love how the buildup of that level starts out like a normal beat em up and at the end it almost feels like a rampage game with how big knack is.

It would feel like a rampage game if you weren't on rails down a strict path and could interact with the environment other than set places with scripted level destruction.

That's the most underwhelming "rampage" I've ever seen. It doesn't to justice to the word at all.

The game look bad graphically, and the gameplay look very boring.

biggest disappointment of E3 and of Sony first party lineup, even Tearaway (made by a tiny team) sound more fun than this.

I think this looks great, a whole lot of simple straightforward fun. a

It's funny people say 'enough first person shooters' over and over and then shit on a game like this for no reason. it looks good.

It looks like a nice game. Have it preordered and can't wait to play it. I get the impression that they only show of a very limited part of the game when it come to different environments.

OT: anyone having issues with YouTube recently? It's hard to watch a single video without "buffering", never happened to me earlier. Feels like It's '95 and I'm using Realplayer.

Sub_Level

wants to fuck an Asian grill.
Seems way too slow for me, but even though it's not for me I can't say it looks bad either.

To be honest, it looks quite boring. Definitely my least anticipated PS4 title.

Yeah, I have to agree. It looked way too basic and not enough action. And when there was action, it was just press "x" over and over.

Who knows, maybe it'll turn out well. I hope so.

It's harmless. It's simple. It's as traditional as a game could be. Which speaks volumes for the console its on too. I like the colour, the art direction, the premise of getting larger as the levels progress. Again, I agree I hope there's some good platforming and my only worry is the lack of environmental interaction which is very important to me.

But yh looking forward to Rayman and Puppeteer!!!

Also Cerny mentioned that on the 2nd playthrough and onwards you could play as a different versions of Knack... he mentioned "Vampire Knack" as one of them... that sounds cool.

I was interested in this when it was first announced, but unfortunately it looks incredibly dull now that I've seen more gameplay. Oh well.

Wow.

Over 100 Enemy types.

Over 200 secret rooms. Random loot for power ups - 50 different kinds.

Looking at the four little pieces they're showing in this demo, I'm a lot more intrigued than I was. The outdoor, more open/platformy parts look GREAT.

Loving the vibe. Little Stealth Knack's run animation is perfectly charming.

And LOL at the part where Knack is just throwing cars around.

I think the two biggest criticisms people have are the world being a bit empty and there being a lack of platforming. With that said the combat is what seems to be the meat of the game. 100+ enemies seems awesome but I do wish there are some good platforming sections.

Yeah I noticed that, looks like it has a lot of content. Loot system kinda came out of nowhere.

looks like a bland Wonderful 101

hahhaah I came here to post that It's incredible that a first party game for PS4 looks so much bland than The Wonderful 101, which is a game for a inferior platform and, well, Sony always makes games that pushes the hardware.

It looks boring and slow too. I didn't like the art direction at all, the first scenes are horrible. And that's sad, because I love games that are cute, but Knack seems awful.

Also, it's just me or seeing our friends face while we are playing is something that removes all the game's immersion?

Chamber

love on your sleeve
Game looks charming enough, doesn't seem to have much "meat" to it though. Think I'll hold off for Knack PS+ Edition.

ROFL! Japanese guy with Cerny goes on for like a minute talking about stuff and Cerny translates: "He says it's a fun game."

Love Cerny's wit :)

and you could really recognize how Cerny was polite but a bit annoyed by that interviewer. (See the bit about the random secret items and the guy forcing the share feature into it)...

and yeah, i like the vibe of the setting and colours and the quirky enemy design. but i would have guessed the world to be more interactive, like a bit of bounce if Knack jumps on the cars or something like that. Hopefully a PS+ game down the road

Locked camera, and 3 hit combo are kind of disappointing.

I was hoping for more substantial 3D platforming than this.

I'm sure it's a good game, and I'll probably get it at some point, but I'm a little underwhelmed.

Even though I enjoy it and am gonna buy it day 1, I can't help but wonder what the game would have been like if they made it more as a fast-paced cartoony God of War game with some crash platforming goodness. I mean I really enjoy how calm the world feels and how the combat works. It looks like you'll have to put quite some thought into how you approach the enemies and not just button mash your way through it, and that's good but it would probably have been more of a system seller if they had taken a slightly different approach.

That host sucks at interviewing, that's what I from that video :p.

I'm beginning to like it again, just looks to be on the easy side that's all. I'm sure the overall experience from start to finish going through different environments and different sizes and the storyline will be enjoyable.

Definitely back on my radar and it's too early to write the game off now.

That actually looks kinda fun...

Environment sucks though. those cars that are littered around the place and the rocky cliffs are just meh.

Maybe an in game weather system would spruce up the levels because right now its one of those inoffensive titles rather than a half decent looking game.

Sad that so many people seems to dislike this game. In my opinion it looks beautiful and like a lot of fun. Day 1 for me.

Damn, they must've changed up the gameplay quickly, I thought that shit was boring. I better watch the new video.

>Watches the video

>still the same shit I bashed from the other day

Seriously what was the last 3D platformer have you guys played? This shit painfully generic. Go back and play Rayman 2, DK64, 3DMario (anyone would do), SA2, Sonic Unleashed/Colors/Generations, and get educated on what is a good platformer for god's sake.

The fixed camera is off putting. It makes the level layout sort of boring and straightforward. Cerny even mentions that they took cues of God of War. Which is sad as I hoped and wanted it to be some sort of Banjo Tooie or Kameo for PS4.
