The Witcher 2 getting full combat rebalance mod with new animations and big changes

Just bought this game on GOG.com today and I'm looking forward to some of these changes. I did feel like Geralt was kind of sluggish when not in combat (opening doors, jumping down, climbing up, etc., requires you to be way too precise). Good to see they're paying attention to that.

Playing this on 360, Combat to me was the biggest drag of the game. I wish this could make it to 360, but I might have to get this on PC sometime to enjoy it more.

Hopefully the changes have an effect on save games as well. I'm not that far, but it would be nice. I have no problem starting over though.

Just installed my new 770 GTX 4GB and the game looks amazing.

Can't wait for this mod to come out and start replaying it.

A lot of the weapons and armor are being changed, and some is being removed as well. If you're still quite early in the game, the safe practice when it comes to major overhaul mods like this is to start from the beginning.

Nice! Glad I've waited with "The Witcher" in general. I am about to finish The Witcher and a few days ago I thought I would skip the second game. But with all those improvements...

Hopefully my GTX570 and i4 SB 3,1GHz can handle the game on at least medium settings.

I played a bit of the Arena on SB i5 3.1GHz and 2GB 7850 in 1080p, I started with the Ultra preset and I turned down shadows from Ultra to High, Cinematic Depth of Field is off and obviously Ubersampling and I get 50-60FPS so you should have no problem.

Hey, thank you for answering on this! Now I am really looking forward to The Witcher 2.

I'm at work so can't look myself, but I would imagine searching YouTube for 'Witcher 1 story' should come up with some decent summary videos.

I don't know why, but I can run this game on high with my 5770 and AMD 965 but of all the changes that are coming with this new animations is my most anticipated.

Just how good is the current version of the game? Will this mod be needed to enjoy the game or something? I didn't like the original vanilla version at all and never really got into the enhanced edition, the combat was too rough in the swamp :lol.

The current version is playable and very enjoyable. For me, there is just something off with the combat because of how much you have to roll around, which is not how the Witcher is supposed to fight.

I just noticed he buffed the Witcher 1 import items. I didn't copy my saves to this new PC... shitty buttcrap.

Activated my retail key on GOG so I can just download the latest EE version instead of my launch day copy and a buttload of updates. If I have time tonight I'll start streaming a new playthrough with this mod tonight, otherwise I will have to wait until around Sunday.

Yeah I had a hard time getting into that mechanic too.

Does this make the combat easier? I'm doing just fine so far, got through the intro and even beat the troll with a non silver sword stick. I'm not really playing for the combat anyway so I gots no issue with easier.

Surprised to see so many complaints about the combat.
I'm waiting for this mod to do my 4th playthrough, I still haven't played the sidequest they added on Iorveth's path with the enhanced edition.

Judging by how hostile to the game you sound, I would guess it will hardly make any difference.
This is probably more for those (like me) who thought TW2 was a good but flawed game, not for those who think it's garbage.
