Is Atlus a profitable company? I mean the video games side.
Persona is not a bone when the budget of those games far exceed any of the titles you have mentioned, its more like the meat.

This. The company is bankrupt yet this turned into the superbowlYep, too many people showing their Fanboy colours, its rather sad to see.
Just hope all the developers keep their jobs.
Pretty sure they print money...(games, but idk dev costs)Is Atlus a profitable company? I mean the video games side.

Maybe if Tecmo got them they'd actually have an active American division again, whereas SE would definitely wipe it out and probably start neglecting to bring games over. Though I could Tecmo being dumb and wiping out the American division despite effectively not having one. Still, that's an area where I can actually be optimistic, especially as it'd undoubtedly do a lot of good for Europe.#TeamSE
or

Poor Devil Summoner is always the red headed step child in these conversations, no one remembers Raidou or Nemissa ;_;7
I think you mean Last Bible and DemiKids.
Majin Tensei too I guess.
I think Index are going bankrupt just so that they never have to reveal Persona 5.
sorry dont count a 2d fightning game as a mainline title
never did.

It doesn't sound like we're anywhere close to Atlus closing, or being sold off just yet. Bankruptcy is a scary word, but if its anything like American bankruptcy, they can come through it and emerge a stronger company.
Just for fun though.
Square Enix
Namco
Capcom
Nintendo
These companies would be smart to start putting out feelers, just in case things go badly.
lmfao Dantis is cant imagine how you must feel
Nope.+1 for Nintendo takeover.
Only japanese pub with a competent european branch.
Eternal hole of pain never to be filled?lmfao Dantis is cant imagine how you must feel
People need to know that Atlus hasn't been a company in years. Index fully assimilated Atlus a while back, Atlus is just a brand name for Index now.
I do expect we'll see SOMETHING, at worst akin to the vultures preying on the corpse we saw with the death of THQ.And they could do nothing while Atlas died, sputtering and growing cold.
Imagine if Nintendo bought them?
I mean, they already have Fire Emblem x SMT on the way, haven't they?
Really great. Really happy with the direction this has taken.
;_;

It is a mainline title. A sequel to Persona 4 with Persona characters sounds apart of Persona to me.
Ah, I was always under the assumption SMT was bigger in Japan. D:

Right. The issue wouldn't be buying Atlus. Atlus amounts to a name and a pretty logo. What you want are the IPs and the development staff.
Atlus is a word on the box. Index can take that to their grave. I don't care.
If anything P4A is spin-off a game that bridges Persona 3 with Persona 4, it focuses more on P3 characters in P4 environment.
Lol what?Is Carherine a spin off of Persona?
I kinda want Namco Bandai though. I know they don't actively destroy their IPs and they have a very decent European branch.

If only for the meltdowns and tearsReally great. Really happy with the direction this has taken.
;_;
Nope.

I want Atlus games on my Vita too...
"persona is exclusive to sony consoles"
"here is a persona game that is not on a sony console"
"that doesn't' count."
this is so weird. don't they have development teams that were basically untouched? i thought index was this weird banking thing. how difficult would it be to just spin the developers that comprise atlus back into their own company again?
If they get the dev teams, but not the IP, and are forced to redo all their lore and get rid of almost 20 years of world, and lore building, I am out. I do not want to play a "Megaten" game that has no Jack Frost or has a fake one, Jeraldo Freezing or some shit.
Upper management by Index most likely.I'm kinda curious about how this happened. Atlus *seemed* reasonably cautious and careful with their development strategies and budgeting. Was it another part of Index dragging it down? Or were they more reckless than they seemed?
god. id rather MS do it then

Yeah because nobody wants the Persona Team to work on something new like Catherine again.
Oh wait.
What if some non-gaming company buys them as their foray into the biz?
