That Saskia armour: I've always loved it. Witcher 2 stuff is often so much better than Beth armour.
I love this one because I can't even really tell that it's modded Skyrim. It could be pre-Alpha bullshots for some random RPG coming out next year and I would have believed it.
Not enough Viglas in this threadSkyrim
I don't remember Skyrim wall textures being this detailed. All of these great Skyrim posts from the last number of pages have me thinking about loading it back up...and then I remember how much work it was to get all the mods just to where I wanted them.
Maybe a different challenge next time.

Hey bud just a heads up but if the screenshots you took was a JPEG file, converting it into a PNG doesn't increase the quality.
You need to actually take the screenshot as a PNG (Steam has built in functionality for this now which is nice!)
To enable this,
Steam Settings > In-Game tab > Tick "When a screenshot is taken save an uncompressed copy outside of Steam" > Select the external folder to use
Apply, save, done
Skyrim screenshots
That's a good idea, I was thinking about a short machinima about Chivalry but the mouse camera work was way to jerky and I canned the footage. Maybe a gamepad would work better.Fun stuff to do. I try that myself some time but I suck at it. The other thing I like is using the gamepad to make great smooth swooping camera passes past an action or nature tableau in for instance Beth games. Those are usually quite lovely, if I say so myself. Good for short videos.
Decap.
I've been trying to get this shot for ages and when I finally do there is another sword clipping through the player body...I choose to see this as a sword thrust that was meant to be there.

I have a question... is this what I can expect after buying a great gaming PC? What's the frame rate like when the settings are cranked up like that? Is this a realistic portrayal of PC games on max settings or just glorified screenshots? Does it depend on the resolution I guess? I'd be playing on a 1920x1080 monitor and nothing higher than that, at least not for 3-4 more years. I just don't want to get excited about getting graphics like this that run at 30/60fps and it end up being a pipe dream.
I love the thread though, this stuff is just gorgeous.

edit: I played through Bioshock Infinite on PS3, and even to someone who doesn't really care about graphics as much as some others do, I myself found the textures and resolution very lacking -- the game and its art direction were so beautiful that I felt like I was looking at a painting that had zebra shit smeared on it. Ever since then I've been very serious about getting a good rig.
Well since this page is already turning into a Skyrim page I might as well go balls deep .
My 660 begged for mercy for these shots .

Ya, I find that clipping ruins like 90% of my Chivalry shots. You either just have to get over it and post them anyway, or hope that it looks somewhat plausible. There's always something clipping through something, be it a weapon or grass. Or fucked up blood texturing on the ground.I've been trying to get this shot for ages and when I finally do there is another sword clipping through the player body...I choose to see this as a sword thrust that was meant to be there.
You've got your AO cranked HARD.
Outstanding nature shots, well deserve of praise midhras.
Any links or name of the mods you're using Brerlappin? Those pics are amazing, and now that I have a great pc, I really want to to play the game with it looking like that.
Thanks thanks. I'm aiming at making an investment hopefully by August or September; I was going to earlier in the year but kept thinking about waiting on the "Steambox." However, I'm guessing it doesn't really matter as Valve releases things on Valvetime which is a waste of my time so I should go ahead and just do it.
I have downloaded some 60fps PC game videos from gamersyde.com just to check it out and was pretty impressed. Bioshock looked glorious at that fps with all the motion and particles going on. I just think it looked mostly like shit on consoles. It's the first time I've played a game and really felt like I had bought the inferior version.
Bioshock is hard to run at 60 fps. At least with my 580, it was more like 45-60. 780 is just fine, but just know it's not super optimized.
It's not too tough with some small trade offs.
I have a 570 and if memory serves correctly, Ambient Occlusion set to medium, Shadows set to one click below maximum, and everything else set to max and I was sitting pretty at 1080/60fps.
Are users in there threads using Ugrids to make everything look so "solid"? The problem with my game is the LoD never seems as nice as these screens.
Is using Ugrids stable?
