GTA V 360: 2 discs, install from Disc 1 play from Disc 2. PS3: 1 disc, 8GB install

Yeah, a PC version (and by HW similarity a next gen version) are almost a given.
They will focus on them as soon as the PS360 version go Gold, i assume.

Do we know if we can install the data from both discs? As in installing both discs and leaving disc 2 in the drive, so it's just like a normal installed 360 game but with an extra disc's worth of data. I'm almost positive that's the idea, but you never know with multi-disc 360 games. As far as I know GTAV is the first multi-disc game on the system that you can play from one disc - all the others, like Mass Effect 2 and 3, still make you switch discs even if they're both installed.

It'll be like Forza /BF3 /Halo4 where it just installs via an in game menu a bunch of data that appears on the HDD like DLC, then when you use the 1st disc (which you can install with the regular install option) it just finds that ' DLC' and plays.

Don't even care how big this is, I can make the room. Though I could start with deleting the GTAIV install, haha. Wish it was September already!

wow this game must be immense.

"A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance."

Does this line mean that a flash drive is preferable over using the harddrive?

No it does not mean that. SATA vs. USB, HDD still wins on the 360.

Both versions will be fine. The 360 one will be fine because it's the 360 one. The PS3 one will be fine because that's the one they've been showing off because that's the one where they've had a history of bad ports, that ended with Max Payne 3.

Right, but they still used much better assets than what you got in game.
What i mean is that they always used better assets and graphics quality in cutscenes, it doesn't mean it's coming for next gen (although it probably is coming).

Well this is all I'm gonna say

Just because the game name is changed doesn't mean the company is wildly different.

Well many of us thought that, since RDR was (basically) a new IP, they needed to push it more than a GTA game, which sells itself just by mentioning it, and actually keeping an aura of mystery around it creates hype.

Since they're showing GTAV gameplay, though, i guess we were wrong.

for me the "screenshort/art render" is a more natural evolution of the art style they went with in IV and changed up a bit in V (like the beach girl artwork)

example

It looks like a still you would see on the initial pre-load of the game when you boot it up.

I'll buy whatever version turns out better in terms of performance, since I likely won't play the online that much.

And they have their wonderful art for GTA5 still. So why are they making very high-res asset renders?

As I said, maybe to use as stills for the initial load of the game because they are now confident that those renders look as good as the concept art.

Just taking a guess though.

I think you are confusing your arguments, we were talking about showing gameplay, not about their render / art etc. Someone else was talking about the renders.

Back in my day, you only got screenshots. You didn't even get in-game footage until the launch trailer a month before release.

and we were grateful. We'd pick that sucker to pieces for details. And someone would always go 'omg a gas tank! gas confirmed!' like a doofus.

This screenshot was still an ingame screen shot.

Although.. the "omg a gas tank" still happens, even worse now. Go on YouTube and search for "GTA5 Trailer Analysis." it's... INSANE

I remember this exact image from gameinformer I guess, the hype for this game was something else.

These required install games on 360 really should include a suitable flash drive in the box. For your Core users, it lets them play the game, for HDD owners it's a nice little collectible.

I doubt it will be that big of a deal for him, he bought a console for it already, I'm sure he can get a hard drive. But it is definitely an added inconvienience.

Tell him to buy a 16GB thumb drive.

Wouldn't USB bottle neck the transfer speed compared to an hdd?

I dont get why some ppl are like ''oh man ma 360 has only got 20gb, good job I got a ps3 )

why even mention the 360 if it does not have space?

are you trying to insult the 360 or somthing?

and as other ppl have said buy a friggin usb stick for like $10, retards.

Yeah. It goes hand in hand though with 'just buy one, they're so cheap' - the economy of scale means it'd be even cheaper for T2 or Microsoft to include one in the box.

I had to sell my 360's USB ports to buy food and clothing. =(
