lol once again, all framed in the most negative way possible. You don't know what was promised to him by EMP and what evidence he saw to back it up. You don't know exactly what happened with brokentier and just take koogy's word for it (which is not to say he's bad or good, but you've just taken his word as gospel.) You think you're entitled to know all the nitty gritty details of this situation that lead to him asking for donations, when really the proposition is just "do you want to see dieminion at Evo or not." If yes, donate, if not, don't donate. Now he's offering up an explanation, but you've decided it's not at the right time, so judge judge judge.
Is there any room for any ambiguity in your mind? Is it too much to accept that the way things could happen in reality might be different from the way they're presented on the internet because there are several sides to every story? Can you ever just say "I don't know" and sit it out? Do you ever think "maybe this isn't my business"? You know about as much as most of us who don't regularly socialize with these people, but you've got this whole shitty narrative put together in your head, which you've decided to share with us and it happens to throw a guy totally under the bus.
So yeah, pretty immature. Just shut the fuck up, please. For once. A lot of other people are agreeing to not discuss it at all until we are told what's going on from his perspective, so show a little social awareness and follow suit. Thanks.

If he ends up going, he should donate his winnings (or atleast a portion proportional to the amount that was funded by the community) to a cause. The goodness of strangers hearts donated money for him to go to Evo, he should do the same in return.

This is my problem; he's asking for money but offering no explanation why. You're advocating the "if you don't like it don't donate" advice which is fair, but it's also completely fair game to ask someone why they're asking for money, especially in the situation he is in as a sponsored player and past history. You're going way too far in the other direction, and you've actually caused most of derailing here by calling me and people out in general. Take your own advice and at least take it to PMs so I can just ignore you there.

He's guilty here as well, but it's hard to blame him if he got fat stacks of cash waved in his face up front. He would've been stupid NOT to take the EMP/VxG deal. Maybe he is to blame for not having money saved if he got cash up front, but we don't know what's happened between now and then or what kind of money he got in the first place so you have to make some assumptions to believe he's definitely to blame for not having money.

I think it's pretty lame. But Dieminion might have a good reason, I guess that's kind of better but sort of barely.
But people like Armada who retired from Melee earlier this year coming out like 2 weeks before EVO and saying "you guys get one last shot to beat me please fund me beating you guys!!" is fuck all stupid and I don't get why people would fund that. Also he was asking donations for his brother to tag along and that's dumb too.

Btw, what's Triforce's extensive history of shady shit? We didn't get an answer on that.
This is the same logic that led to Rolando using Triforce, and it's bad business. Making it personal leads to problems down the line because you can't trust your/their judgment.

And at this point triforce's history is pretty well known, just take for example the last few pages where he couldn't afford to send Die to SBO even though he was one of his players, and he apparently owes Jaxel thousands of dollars. Fuck, you could probably just google "Triforce fuckups" at this point and get examples.

On this late notice? Last minute flights are stupid expensive.
Not that much. I decided to look up flights leaving Wednesday and come back on Monday and they average around $600-$650 round-trip.

The issue is that there were rumblings 2-3 months ago that Triforce had mismanged the money badly, leaving players without travel accommodations outside of the VxG tournament. They were fervently denied at the time.
Given that suddenly, weeks before CEO/EVO, many players under his management aren't attending these majors? Where there's smoke, there's fire.

I've always liked Dieminion, but this will say a lot about the kind of person he is. I've seen people in the speed running community do these types of donation drives, but they set a goal and donate the surplus to charity.

"He's going to tell you why" after the fact is pretty pointless. It's better than nothing, but it's still pointless. What if the answer (and I am in no way suggesting it is, just using this as an example) was "I showed up to work drunk and got fired from my job, so now I have that weekend open?" You might not like that, but it doesn't matter because he already got the money.
The guy who wrote that is an idiot and has no idea what an actual pyramid scheme is. Triforce may be an awful businessman, but he's not running a pyramid scheme.
But you'd agree that it would not be cool to call that out before we even know, right?
