360: New Dash Beta Sign-ups.

I signed up. I'm a little nervous though.
On the one hand, I can't imagine them making an experience I like less than what's on there today.
On the other, I feel like every revision has been worse.
I'm not even sure whether this one is going to be of any consequence, the last update was better than the original Metro dash.
I was under the impression this was just to allow currency based payments, it is surely a smaller update if they are doing it publicly on the main dash tile!
I like it too. It's easily the best and fastest UI of any current console I've used. I detest the non-content ads, but they're hardly an issue.

Not easy at all. Had to basically keep checking my dashboard every 10 minutes or so and doing the rt and y trick to get the table to update. Took about 40 minutes for it to show. Then it downloaded something then I had to run it.
In the last beta I just signed in to my live account and clicked a link, boom. 2 minutes later it's done.
No you did not. In the last beta you also had to download the app and before that you had to enter your serial number on the beta website.
This was way easier.

Initially having the serial number was a pain, the last one was easy as pie, and it didn't take me 40 minutes, it took too. Sitting on the dashboard and waiting for it to appear after constantly refreshing is a pain in the arse.
Yeah like you fucking had to sit there for 40 minutes constantly refreshing. You can still sign up tomorrow or whenever it became available. smh

easy as pie. are you guys seriously sitting there refreshing the dash? if you aren't seeing it you likely aren't getting served the tile yet. patience my friends.

I still get the tile saying "complete registration" even though I already did many hours ago. I know it's probably just a bug, but anyone else have the same problem? I know I asked earlier today, but I figured it would have gone away by now, I just want to be sure it will work out properly.

Im in Canada, its right there on the home screen, bottom right. Its called "Finish signing up" or something

Can't Microsoft just make it so the 360 boots directly into Netflix at this point? It's the only thing I really use my Xbox for anymore anyways (besides my occasional Halo fix).

I've got the beta tab at the top but it doesn't do anything or tell me anything. I assume its just there for when it goes live?

It's an info channel where you can read about announcements and beta information. They have not released the beta dashboard yet.

Might take a few days, but I'd recommend running the beta app again just to be certain it goes through.

And also, I get 'Runtime Error' when I try to visit the Xbox forums, but it works when im not logged in. Anyone else have that issue?
Update ran the app again and registered my console, so hopefully im 100% on board when they roll it out. Said im the next round like it did before. Thanks for the advice.

i was in the beta for the dasboard thats the running boxes right now and my hdd corrupted, did not work afterwards. i called them and they refused to give me a new hdd, because im in the beta program and because of that, i could not get a new one. but the support guy was cool, told me to call again, he wont mark anything beta related in my support history. so i called again, told nothing bout the dash beta i was in and got my hdd replaced.
it was a 250gb hdd from a slim. just had it two months, so warranty was still on.
but i will always remeber not to participate in anything microsoft beta/alpha or testing in general related. the worst part is: ~110 hours of darksouls GONE

edit: yeah man i am using the cloud now, but up to this point i just did not see ne need to. i was so fucking stupid.

i have no problem with the corrupted hdd, that is sad but ok. i can deal with it.
but that they just refuse to fix the problem they caused, at least it looks like it, is kind of jerk action.

Sorry for that Dark Souls loss. Gotta say I'm not surprised though. If you think MS will do anything unless it will save them some face, you thought wrong. The only times they handled shit was during the RROD debacle, and here recently with the DRM, IIRC.
