Started learning invoker today. Dude is super fun, but I'm super bad. Any general invoker tips?

Living Armor+PMS at least lets you stay in lane. Razor is fine, until you realize he has shit for dmg, and awful int gain, so he'll most likely lose all of his mana around level 4ish or so. Iunno, hero's dumb.

Just lost a 3v5 because two of the people on our team were new and fed their TA who in turn just wiped the floor with us, yay!

That frustrating feel when you lose a 60 minute game.

Many times I pretty much successfully 1v5'd the whole team, even getting a rampage once.

why you gotta post that

that match pushed me ever closer to dota retirement

You weren't mid then I take it, Storm was?

That would put Furion jungle, Sylla solo and you and AA laning?

Furion was on lane/roaming. He sucked too. It's always so frustrating when you are doing everything right early game and then your team refuses to team play..

Sounds like laning issue, with a strong offlaner in Sylla and strong jungler in Furion wasted in a 2-1-2

Had a game like this as Abbadon earlier. Got like four kills early on (laning with Clockwerk) but then in the midgame our Viper never ever ganked and then they kept grouping up and picking us off, but no-one would get together to push and ugh

Holy shit this peruvian invasion.

I had the worst game ever, 2 of them feeding the shit out of their minds to Jug and Sylla. all of them arguing from minute 0

Had to afk farm 20 mins ultil I got a very risky rapier (throne was exposed) and satanic to win this shit.

im sorry again about the peruvians :/ man i hope we dont turn into the next br's, or russians.

LD and Lone Druid can do decently well against him (nyx as well). Advantage? Nope.

There was some pro game recently though where a Nyx got absolutely crushed by an OD mid though. Something like 4 CS at 12 minutes with the OD having an absurd amount of denies. Can't remember who was playing who, but I'm sure you could look it up on Dota-Academy or something.

The other thing to remember about OD is that he's not a super ganking type of hero. He's not gonna want to move early if the other mid doesn't since he can just sit there and make life suck for them. The longer the laning phase lasts, the better for him, since he's fairly squishy and susceptible to ganks with no built-in escape. So if you're playing vs. him, you hopefully get some good rune control and make things happen early in the side lanes so he'll be forced to respond and leave mid. Otherwise if you're coordinated, you have a support or two from one of your side lanes come and gank him, preferably with a smoke.

An underfarmed, underleveled OD is a very sad hero indeed.

Yeah, well OD will always have more base damage than the opposing mid hence the no one having an advantage on him. But the 3 heroes that can do SOMEWHAT ok against an OD here and there (are still at a disadv. but a lil better off than the rest of the hero pool) are LD, huskar, and nyx. Nyx will be the worst of the bunch because although he will burn OD's mana, there's nothing to stop him from getting right clicked out of lane and he won't get cs outside of using his stun effectively. And this is me talking from a pre-nerf nyx outlook, I haven't played the matchup after 6.78 and now instead of his level one 5x mana burn, his 3.5x mana burn leaves him worse off in that matchup.

edit: meant Huskar in the above post not LD and Lone Druid lol.

Dude, it's a big fucking problem. Peruvians are absolutely without a doubt the new BR and Russian.

To learn Invoker, I think it's easier to pick 1 build-type and then keep on playing that until you get used to it. Example, Quas-Wex build; Cold Snap, EMP, Tornado, Ghost Walk. Those are the 4 main spells you use in that build. You don't have to worry too much about the other spells for a good portion of the game. After you get used to 1 build, trying out other builds or just using all other spells should feel and be a lot easier.

If you like to Ghost Walk a lot, I find the Eul's Scepter to be good complement. It gives you movement speed to somewhat counteract the self-slow. And if they buy dust or track you, you can tornado yourself with it to dispel it, and then Ghost Walk. You can also tornado the enemy and then Sun Strike, Chaos Meteor, or something else as they land.

I find playing practice mode with -wtf enabled helps a lot. I'd prefer this over the www.invokergame.com because I have custom keybinds, and you should actually practice casting the spells on some target.

Yeah I was just mentioning it because that game was a case where the dominance was much larger than you'd expect. Nyx should be ~okay~ vs. OD, though LD and Huskar will probably have it better right now. Though Huskar isn't in CM.

Speaking of, with TI3 this close, anyone think we'll see some of the non-CM heroes enabled for CM between now and then? There will probably be at least a decent-sized balance patch a month or two after it finishes where we might see some of those changes if nothing before.

When should Chen be helping out mid with something like an eagle whirlwind, harpy chain lightning, or the satyr mana burn? I see players like Puppey do it sometimes.

Sorry to be a pain, but a while back someone posted the console command to make the map either smaller or not as sensitive to misclicks. Ikuu, I think it was. What was that command again? I'm having butterfingers lately.

Kunkka does pretty well against OD.

Yeah he was mentioned in one of the previous pages as well. He's pretty decent vs. anyone really. Will trade or only lose slightly if he doesn't win. Tidebringer harass too stronk.

Balanced by his somewhat mediocre scaling though I suppose. He's not nearly as happy if the opposing team forces him to get a (quick) BKB, among other things.

Just had a game as KOTL mid, with PL and DS safe , and Rubick Tiny the other. I didn't know why they wanted me mid with the line up it makes no sense.

What looked like a horrible game ended up being a pub stomp and ended up 11 - 1.Never had so much gold as KOTL and loved it!

I feel pretty happy to be an Aussie right about now, can not relate at all to the issues of having Brazilians, Peruvians, Russians or any equivalent ruining a game. Being stuck out here on our own is a bit of a blessing I guess, most non-english speakers in the area are on SEA servers so I can't say I've had any of the issues I see brought up so much, or maybe I'm just lucky.

I just had a game where apparently the power went out in whatever South American country people were in because 2 people dropped and another guy kept asking us to wait

AU queue is usually only 4-5 min, SEA is 3-4. I can't stand all the random disconnects from people in SEA so AU only for me most of the time too.

I queue both if I am solo queuing otherwise I just queue AU.

Im brazilian but always say "gg hf" at the beginning of the match and try to be polite. But I know some brazilians can be jerks playing online, thats why sometimes I only queue USA West/East.
