$50 USD? So when this game makes its way to Australia it will be around the $80.00 mark... no thanks, I'll play my Gamecube version Nintendo.

Have the screenshots been discussed yet? More items can be selected, this REALLY sweetens the gameplay department and I can't wait for this game!

Pre-ordered btw.

I don't know, looks from those screens that only 3 buttons can have items set to them. Same as in the GC version (X, Y, Z), unless I'm missing something.

on the other side of the screen there is a d-pad that also looks like you can set items

Oh, word. Don't know how I missed that. Looks like it may not be settable (e.g. wind waker is always on up?), but it certainly frees up the item buttons.

a shiny, new HD coat and items mapped to the gamepad aren't worth more than $9.99 quite frankly.

No new dungeons, no master quest, the very same game I already own for gamecube, the travelling by boat didn't even bother me in ther first place.

this is not for me.

They didn't get rid of the triforce hunt so it not worth that price to me. If they would of added extra dungeons and a hard mode I would of considered it.

Yeesh.

And I got Ico & Shadow of the Colossus (years ago) in HD for $40 with 3D support, dynamic PS3 themes, behind the scenes docs...

He wasn't listing 'new features,' and how often do HD Collections do more than bump up the resolution?

I own five on my ps3 and they still look like ps2 games albeit with a higher resolution this looks like a wii u game not an old game ported and coded over

50 bucks is too high for me for a visual overhaul of an old game. But certainly not surprising, Nintendo almost always prices enhanced ports at full price. If you've never played Wind Waker before though, it's definitely worth 50 bucks.

While the enthusiasts may find this to be a good deal, it's a pretty poor mass market price for a 'new paint job' for a game that likely cost very little to (re)make. Low budget game with a steep price, on a console struggling to gain traction, no less. I fail to see the "win" in that.

However...

If that Wind Waker bundle is true(I haven't followed recently), then I see where Nintendo may be going with this. A high price on the stand-alone game automatically makes the bundle much more attractive.

you've got that backwards. it's a worse product for the enthusiasts who know how to use dolphin or picked up all consoles back in the GC era. it's a fine mass market price. not that many people even played wind waker. it's one of the lower selling zelda games. the mass market picked up a ps2 or just didn't get controversial wind waker at all. the remake looks like a modern game. the game doesn't look ugly and blocky because of the heavy stylism of the original.

Lol wow, I had no idea it would be priced that high. Team ICO Collection was $40 at launch, iirc.
Guess ill be waiting on a deal for this one...

I agree it should be lower ($30-$40), but it will still sell at that price. There are generations of Zelda gamers now who started with Twilight Princess, the DS titles or Skyward Sword. This will be brand new to them.

I have played through the game twice and I'm willing to pay 50 for this. Mostly because my GameCube version doesn't work anymore. Yes it would be nice if it was cheaper, but I'm easy to please so 50 isn't too bad for me.

I'm actually pretty satisfied with this price. WW was my first (though not my favorite) Zelda game, and it holds a special place with me, so this will be a day one purchase for me. I think this game perfectly compliments the Wii U :)

People are comparing this to other HD collections, which is fine, but that's not how I'm judging the value personally. I only played this game once at launch and forget a lot of it, so much of it will be new again to me. Also this will be the first Zelda in 1080p. After playing SS all I could dream of was playing a Zelda that wasn't a low res mess. I'm looking forward to this game more than any other game coming out on any system. I'm sure I'm in the minority but for $50? That's A-OK with me.

But yeah, they should have added more dungeons. All music tracks should have been orchestrated. There should have been a completely new Master Quest. I can see where people are coming from. That would have just been added value to me.

Sorry guys, I've never played WW before, never had a Gamecube, and so this will be my first time chance to play it.

So when I see $50, I see a pretty good deal.

Did anyone expect anything else from Nintendo? Of course it's $50. When have they ever released a remake that wasn't full price? Star Fox 64, Mario 64, Ocarina were all full priced games on the systems they came out on. If you have a problem with the price, vote with your wallet. I'll wait for a price drop or a b2g1 free deal.

This has to be some cruel joke. I fail to see the value in this compared to other remasters that give you 2 or 3 games. It's disappointing that people will try and justify this because it's 'Zelda'.

Really? Then it's probably because developers haven't been pushing the Wii U yet, with even Nintendo releasing games that clearly show their Wii origins (polygons, textures). Trust me, the Wii U is capable of much more than objects with rough edges and blurry textures - X and MK8 finally show some of that power.

I'm sure the die-hards will end up buying this game. OoT 3DS was overpriced as well and that ended up selling systems. In my opinion, i think its $20 too much. From what i remember, Wind Waker was sold at $50 and you were given a Free disc of Ocarina Master Quest. Now that was a deal!!!.

I got Halo CE Anniversary (which is a remake, not a remaster) for 20 euros, NEW.

Nothing justifies the price, Nintendo is showing once more how arrogant they can be.

OoT wasn't overpriced. New textures, 3D (or AA is you turn it off), plus Master Quest for everyone who didn't preorder WW 10 years ago. Seriously, go look at OG OoT screens and compare with the 3D version.

OoT 3D is up there with REmake, imo.

OOT 3D and Starfox 64 3D got released at full price. This is not surprising to me. I always expected it to be around this price

OOT3D full price was alright but starfox for full was outrageous for what you actually get in the game. I got starfox for 12 bucks in a sale and still felt a little salty.

The best part of OOT 3D was the reworking of the HUD and the new item selection. Made the water temple a fun experience.
