Looks cool. But I am passing on it. Waiting for PS4 and XBone this holiday... I'm personally not interested in handhelds.

It's not just you but it's probably pretty close :(

I can see some people getting it for the PC to device streaming capabilities but even then not really.

Was untill I found out streaming pc was still in beta phase and the device is releasing with streaming in beta phase, so the thing is worthless right now.

The only thing that interests me is streaming your steam library and my understanding is that is extremely limited... yeah? For $300, no thanks.

Cheaper and complete access to my entire steam library and I could be talked into it.

As soon as:
A. There are lots of impressions regarding what the latency on the device is like
B. It's confirmed to work with ALL PC games (at least all the ones with controller support)
C. The price goes down to about $200

Once all that happens I'll THINK about it...

...and then probably just put that money toward an Oculus Rift preorder instead.

It streams any game if you have a 6xx+ gpu.

Edit:
Nvm, it is limited. Oh well, more games will support it eventually. A modified PCSX2 and dolphin build for shield would make it worth it.

Not gonna lie, I wish I had this thing when my pc isn't accessible or if I'm lazy. Some borderlands 2 in bed would actually make me finish it. At less than 200$ I would definitely bite.

basically this... also next gen consoles will most likely be out before any of this happens, and then I wont even care anymore.

I like the idea, but like many not at $300.

Did Nvidia not say they are not looking to sell millions, but just show off what their hardware can do?

Not according to their site:
With a compatible GeForce GTX GPU and a variety of supported PC games, you can open a whole new world of PC gaming. Lean back and take advantage of your new PC gaming freedom.

They only list 15 games on their site, most of which I've played or have no interest in. The Streaming PC Games feature is only in "Beta" at the launch of the device.

Supported games:
Bioshock Infinite
Borderlands 2
Dead Island: Riptide
Devil May Cry (DMC 5)
F1 2012

I still think the main purpose of this... thing, is to offer some pain relief to the guy who draws Ouya's sales charts.

Wow. I thought this is what the device was, with android gaming on the side. I didn't realise it was so limited. Crazy.

Besides games you can play on your PC several feet away, what the heck are you going to play on this thing? Angry Birds?

switched over to amd because of better promo packages with their gpus and also just got a nexus 7.

So nope, no need for one of these even though they do look kinda neat. will probably pick one up when bargain bined... or maybe not.

Could I technically stream a game from my home PC to my college dorm across the country? If so I'm interested when the price drops, but if not I'll pass.

Akuun

Looking for meaning in GAF
I still don't get the point of this device. It feels like Nvidia got really salty over AMD getting so much attention in the gaming market and pulled a Bender.

"Screw your game systems! I'll make my own! And it'll have blackjack! And hookers!" etc.

I'd be interested in hearing the reviews of it, though.

It doesn't even work with amd cards, they think they'll sell more gpus because of this but they'll just sell 50 percent less shields.

And the supported list is entirely shooters.
You know what I don't want to play with a controller? Can you guess? go on!

If it had blanket support for any game/any emulator and worked with all hardware it could have been something good (assuming the buttons, screen , build quality etc don't suck)

Anyone interested in this will be wise to wait 6 months and just pick one up from a store bargain bin for a buck.

Can’t stump the diablos
It's weird that this isn't even released and already feels like one of the "weird" devices of gaming history. (Ngage, virtual boy, etc...)

Nvidia should have built this capability into a tablet and allowed the user to choose a controller if they wanted to stream/play certain games.
