They still need to refine the alpha effects (for flame around cars when they explode) because it still gives rise to some ugly aliasing.

Btw, here is the 1st GIF:

Loved their PS2 and PS3 games but Sucker Punch were never really the top of the pile technically on either platform but they really seemed to stepped up on PS4.

It's not a lunch title though. You could probably wait until march or something.

True but I don't know how limited supply will be when the game actually comes out.And at that point I would still be paying full price(as in no PS4 price drop anytime soon) so why not pre-order. Also as an ealry adopter it helps justify keeping my Gamefly account.

Looks incredible and they are still 6-7 months away from release, and most of the footage we are seeing I think is from a build 2 months old at least. So not only does it look good now, it should only get better.

I love that Sony is throwing a lot of support behind this as well. They have been steadily dripping info out for this game, and looks to be a killer app for when the launch dust settles and software is needed to move consoles instead of hype.

Also video has no Nate Fox :(

The worst thing about the first 2 games was how shitty it was to climb up against buildings etc, being able to skip that completely should really help the gameplay.

Plenty of noticeable aliasing in the video but I couldn't care less as long as it runs well. Maybe some sort of nicer AA could be used and dropped depending on the framerate but solid performance comes above all.
Same old gameplay packaged differently. Yeah give me something new.
This is full of crap.

Different powers = different gameplay. The changes in gameplay from Infamous 1 to Infamous 2 were pretty huge. Should every game end at the first installment when there is so much more to elaborate on in terms of gameplay? I expect at least the same jump from Infamous 2 to Second Son.

Edit:
No what I mean is we are seeing the same old power/moves and foes since the E3 demo. I want to see something new within the game.
lol Pound_lb003 post changed how I interpreted yours.

The animation is so good. The subtle things are just so well done. Look how he flails his legs out as he gathers his balance after coming out of an air duct. Not only does that look awesome from an animation point of view, but that is probably how all of us would react rematerializing a 100 feet in the air.

The most next-gen actually playable game shown so far.
I just find that series a bit mindless with no need for mastery.

Looking at how well polished this is makes me wonder if Sony is pushing this back to 1st quarter just so we don't have a gap in the launch window when it comes to games and there is enough games at launch to tide people over (I'm including 3rd party games of course)

Looks good. I only hope that the world will feel vibrant and interesting, unlike the two previous games.

Early gen, launch window PS4 game.

Amazing. It's all uphill from here... and that's exciting. :)

Looks good but the animations, l don't know but it's not looking "smooth". Kinda looks fidgety.
I agree that they look kind of jerky. You have very sudden transitions between very detailed mo-capped animation.

Games like GTAIV, RDR, Uncharted, and Assassin's Creed have all moved to these animation systems that look really fluid (including fluid transitions) and at least some of which take physics into account but I think in all of those cases some responsiveness has been compromised.

I like that such an action-oriented game as Second Son hasn't gone down that road. The controls in both PS3 games have felt really good and responsive. I will be disappointed if that goes away.

They fixed my biggest issue which was mobility. Cole always felt slow and sluggish but this new dude seems like he's much more mobile and agile and gets around the environment a LOT faster.

Also they're having fun with it. The first 2 took themselves WAY too fricken seriously and held back Cole a bit. This seems to just let you loose Prototype style

The Infamous games have always had really great looking particle effects and these look even nicer

If anything, the movement looks ever more responsive and quicker in I:SS, like he moves faster and to me looks more fluid.

It looks maybe a bit too fast though.

The effects and the lighting all look great. But, most of all the game looks like it will be a lot of fun.

Man, I am so excited for the PS4's release. I really didn't expect to be so jazzed about the next gen.

I think the transitions are plenty smooth, but it looks jerky because of the speed. In some ways it gives him some twitchy characteristics, intentional or not. I'd also say that the responsiveness in control from Uncharted games is heads and tails above AC, RDR and GTA.

PC GAF is becoming unbearable.

I Know where are all these amazing PC games this guys are playing? I have a PC that can max out any game. And while playing at a higher resolution is great. You pretty much end up with the same game.

And spending 2 weeks tweaking a game and added unsupported filters make the game look great. But the reality is Developer are not doing much more on PC then they are on Consoles. And it will remain that way.
