Wow, cancelling my preorder now. Thought it would be cheaper.

So I guess my next Wii U game I get 13 months after my last ones (Nintendoland, NSMBU and AC3). And strategy games (Pikmin 3, W101) don't interest me and I didn't like DK on Wii.

What a horrible purchase for me. If I could transfer my VC content back to my Wii or to an account, I would sell this console in a heartbeat.
Off topic: Wait a minute. If you transfer your vc games from Wii to Wii u, it gets permanently deleted on the Wii and all the games are stuck on the Wii u?

What the hell, thank god I didn't transfer my data

on topic: I don't understand why Nintendo specifically NoA seem to be so stuck in their ways.

The original holds pretty damn well, no need to pay so much for an HD "remake", I'll skip it if this is the real price.

Since I was already expecting it to be $59.99 I kinda don't care. I'm going to get it anyway, but not day 1.

I can wait a bit before playing it, I've already played Wind Waker before so I'd rather buy other games for now.

ARE YOU SHITTING ME!?!?!?!?!

Its not even 50 bucks anymore? It is 60 now?

That is a straight up total rip off. It should be HALF that much.

No it won't. Don't trust me.

Well, that seals it for me. I'll be getting something else for my WiiU then. I started my GCN copy again a while ago, looks like i'll be able to just finish that and not have to start over on WiiU.

It will sell! Trust me, my uncle works for Nintendo and he told me so personally.

Remember, Nintendo is the same company that slapped an SNES ROM on a disc for their mascot's anniversary and sold it for full price too. I don't know how anybody seriously expected a $50 or less price point.

He's saying that the price isn't final because the date surely isn't. Though it may very well be $60, knowing Nintendo.

Phew, that's what I kind of figured, but then I Googled it and found that some site posted a few hours ago that it was delayed to 2014. Didn't see it on GAF though so I was pretty sure it was bullshit.

Why the Hell isn't Nintendo giving the actual confirmation of both the date and price?

Expect dates for their entire holiday lineup - along with bundle information and possibly a price cut - to come in (most likely) the next Nintendo Direct (not counting the W101 direct). At least, that's what I would guess based on how Nintendo has previously revealed this type of information. Retailers will have the entire lineup at $60 in order to cover themselves for pre-orders because the price will only go down from there.

$50 was a fair price. At $60 you're easily losing all the impulse buyers who would day 1 this for nostalgia's sake.

Weren't Ocarina of Time 3D and Starfox 64 3D full price too (for a handheld game)?

I don't think Nintendo 'get' HD remakes. I mean, it seems like they did put some effort into making this HD remake different, but it's still not worth $60. I mean come on, you're selling a remake with a few new bells and whistles at the same price as a completely new and original game?

$50-60 is a good price for a game like WW. Nintendo puts so much effort and care into their IPs that their games are timeless. That Nintendo seal of quality is worth its weight in gold.

Well, handheld games on average are cheaper at least, plus OoT3D did redo all the visuals (I think people said the same happened with SF64 3D.) Plus I think it's considered sort of OK there because they're games that couldn't have been on handhelds previously and as noted tend to be cheaper, they've done this with each of their handheld titles and so has... well, everyone else really.

Problem is that with higher costs (and by proxy more wiggleroom) that really isn't expected on consoles, so going "hey guys we're re-releasing it at $60" it really does cross the line, relative to what they've done thus far anyway.

Now that it's $60 now, I'm having second-thoughts on canceling my $50 preorder. I was planning on buying it for Christmas, but $10 discount is too good a deal for a Nintendo game.

Ocarina 3D and Starfox were actually heavily rebuilt - their graphics were effectively replaced, and they got a lot of tweaks to affect balance, playability, etc. After playing Ocarina especially, most felt it was worth the money. A lot of work went in to craft the all-time definitive version.

Wind Waker HD is, by their own admission, a "learning" project that they're just releasing at retail. They didn't recreate it from scratch and there's not nearly as much work put in as Grezzo did for OOT. So yeah, I think something like a $30 price point would have been a lot more fair. $40 at the most.

Better get in now, it'll be $70 next week. Higher pricepoint = greater cache in 2013 Nintendo logic. Those Wii Us will just be flying off the shelves.

The only way I think $60 can be justified is if they go all out in packaging, making something akin to AT LEAST the Metroid Prime Trilogy. And ideally selling it with just the game for $40 afterwards.

Not too noticeable, although the heat wave effect is still glitchy.

I actually play TWW on the Devolution homebrew loader for Wii with widescreen enabled, and it's glorious, enough to keep me patient for the HD remake.
What... I have it on devolution, how do I do this?

I don't get the $60 hate. Well, maybe I do but these days games fall in price so quickly I really don't care what the MSRP is at launch. And even Nintendo is the same. While their games don't really drop in price like others, they start bundling them up where I still end up on top later on.

Those were remakes not Remasters.

I have never played this zelda, so this is going to be the first time for me, I can't wait, because everyone loves it. Although I hear a lot of bad things about the last part of the game (something about Triforce quest)
