1 hour is plenty of time. Look back at E3 and see how much time is taken up by policy information, marketing jargon and the Sony pictures deal.

I'm saying typically there is a sale on games right at launch and I want as many games as possible available to take advantage of the sale. Depending on what the requirement may be on the number of games you have to purchase, this could be pretty key. Yes, consoles usually have game sales when they launch. The last four launches have all had stellar game sales. PSP, 3DS, Wii U and Vita all had great deals. I expect nothing less than some sort of game sale for PS4 and Xbox One games at their respective launches. Pre-ordering games is silly because of this very reason.
Cool, thanks for clarifying. I've never seen those sales before! Seems to me like retailers are even more likely to charge full price for games at console launches cause they know people are hyped, hah. Anyways, I'll keep an eye out for deals this time. :)

Ya keep an eye out but they usually happen as a way to draw you in since all the stores are competing against each other to bring you in at launch. Vita had B2G1, 3DS had B1G1@50%, PSP had B2G1, and Wii U had B1G1@40% at one place, but also had B2G1 either somewhere at launch or really shortly after. So that's minimum 20% off all games, and as high as 33% off all games. It's not worth preordering because of this.

Just for reference, here are all the deals that took place at the Vita launch:

Just an hour? That's a bit of a let down :S

Gamescom conferences are always 1 hour, but the pacing is completely different compared to E3.
They tend to go straight to the point with very little fillers and PR moments.
Last year's conference was 1 hour as well but was packed with many more announcements than the E3 conference which lasted much longer.

I hope they show off some more 1st year games that we haven't heard about. I've got more stuff I want to preorder. I'm five bucks away from paying off my 7th game (almost all 2014 games). I've ebayed some stuff and did various things online (like filing out credit apps) for money so I've not really used any of my pay checks yet. I'll save pay check money for sales although I'll probably avoid most launch titles. Shadowfall will get me through until some post launch titles like Infamous come out.

PS3 games and previously announced Vita games will be shown in sizzle reel type of videos most likely. I doubt PS3 and Vita will take up more than 20 minutes combined.

Seeing as Sony seem to have several troll-happy, albeit consumer-friendly, excecutives these days, I wonder if they'll rub the 13 country fiasco in MS's face :p

Well if they do push for October I hope MS doesn't try to release ahead of schedule to match them, even if it's in fewer regions or less units, better to start off late and behind than early and embarrassingly.

If they're launching in those European countries and MS isn't, I could definitely see a little jab thrown in there, especially given that this is a European focused show. I mean, MS basically handed them that one; Sony just has to take it.

December please. Too much shit to do from now until then.

You want in December while the people, like me living in Middle East, would want as soon as it is released but probably won't get before mid to early November, IMO. We should swap places.

I think it might be a little late for Microsoft to avoid embarrassment.
