For this gen I've had an MS wireless wheel, G25, GT2, CSRE and a DriveFX (barely counts as a wheel though), before then I was quite content with the old Logitech Momo.
Haven't done more than a couple of laps with a control pad.

I used a controller for most of the time in Forza.
But I had a Mad Catz and then a Microsoft wheel for playing with Forza. Fun, but never really felt that great to me.
Also had a Driving Force GT that I used back with GT3 and GT4 and then with rFactor and GTR2.
My 360 wheels broke and the Logitech got sold before I moved here.
I'll be getting a G27 at some point for my new PC, but I'm not happy with the current state of racing sims.

I got the Fanatec CSR + Clubsport...
it's very expensive... and compared to the T500RS for 100 more that I got... the price doesn't show.
I still have my DFGT... lol. I should probably sell it. I let my nephew use it when he comes by though... He's too rough. Slapping the shifters and stuff... so I let him use that.
The deadzone on the DFGT really kills me though. Going straight on it can be a bitch sometimes.

Glad to hear the new physics model is in the Gamescom demo. Hopefully we'll get some feedback from a few knowledgeable attendees.

Had a look just now, I'm Tier 4.
If I collect do I lose out next time around or can I keep claiming Tier 4 stuff?
Also, any idea what Tier 5's rewards are? Might be worth trying to get some more achievements I never bothered with.

Ugh, look at that parts bin special. Best case scenario is that's a redesigned t500 base with the back shopped off, in which case I might consider getting one just for that. Seems unlikely though I'm afraid. My hopes of a G27-like product are dashed.

GT2 with CS pedals and a Wheelstand Pro with an Ikea Poang (sp?) chair. Its magical and is the # 1 reason I am not considering an XB1 at launch unless they support them. I refuse to buy another wheel, this thing is barely a couple years old for me.

Finally SPA!! such a great track and its great that all tracks are going to be laser scanned, Laguna Seca corkscrew looks quite more deep now.
Im going to miss the wide Nurburgring
, I like the thin flavor too but It was a very fun track because you could be much more agressive and it had good parts to overtake online.

, looks like a great idea!I highly doubt that the corkscrew is deeper since the track hasn't been updated and the corkscrew itself it's still wrong. The track still has the old media center (the new one was made far from the track to widen the runoff in the main straight), old climb to the corkscrew (it was widened as well so now the left wall is far from the track), and it's missing the spinning Mazda logo on top of the scoreboard, and those red things on the inside of the kerbs. Oh, and these changes were made when MotoGP started racing there, so it's not something recent that they couldn't do in time, the track should have been updated for Forza 4 already.
They just updated the advertising on the billboards and bridges, added the current tarmac runoff at the exit of the corskcrew and called it a day. I seriously doubt they laser-scanned all the tracks since if this was the case, then the track would reflect the real life updates.

Twin motors are nice. Lack of clutch - as on Thrustmaster - is pure crap, as I stated before. Turn10 should have instited with damn pressure to have a wheel that can accompany their clutch-modelling (under pressumption it is like in FM4). Also, this is problematic "trend" for the future sims on Xbone (pCARS, maybe even Asseto Corsa at some point...) because they will not be able to deliver one complete sensation on the platofrm.
Also, this will probably be even more expensive then Thrustmaster.
I hope both wheels will do good for their owners.

Guys, the pad and the wheel are pretty much 1:1 in terms of laptimes in Forza. The only situation the wheel has a slight advantage in would be in certain FWD cars or on tracks like Maple Valley, where smoothness is key. Even then, the vast majority of #1 times in all of the Forzas have been with the gamepad.
Claiming that you're 'the best you can be with the pad' when you're not #1 on almost every leaderboard shows that you either don't play Forza much or are being purposely disingenuous.

Ah ok. Sorry to single you out, I just always see a lot of misinformation in wheel vs controller discussions and thought I'd try and help out.
The wheel and controller are equal on Forza, but on GT5 the wheel is much faster. You just can't turn as much with the pad on that game.

That's what I've been loving about the Forza community, and why I keep reading Forza threads; There's very little attitude and hidden agendas, and not the least room for criticism.
But it's nib you are responding to here, he doesn't care nor follow what the community is up to. But he sure likes to pretend to fight the good fight as long as he is able to compare it to something Sony-related did better. Some of us from the IGN boards a few years ago know him all too well.
Nothing has changed.. Check his post history, it's the exact same formula as on the IGN boards back then. And it's been, what, 7-8 years? Amazing stamina.
I think this is obvious to anybody who is not a console warrior. (which is so passe btw)
Just to give a very good example, all people that play forza and talk about it here,
we could not touch upon even a single thing that forza has to discuss/criticize, and just keep it at the (merry) level of:
<<hey, you know what? xbox is the inferior platform, yet forza beats the living hell out of sony's game, which has plastic cars, not even 30 frames locked, microstutter, tearing, shit sound, shit animation, shit damage, shit lighting, shit reflections, shit shadows and drives like shit>>
I have never seen even ONE post like this from the forza guys i know. and basically, I dont even expect to see one ever, at least from those guys.
