The Wonderful 101 |OT| Diplomacy has failed

I've just tried the demo, is it a little confusionary or am i wrong? Seems to me they crammed in a lot of stuff and took me a couple of runs to get things straight...

Forgot all about the teleport, I'll have to try that

Also, Saur just started a System Breakdown video series. He's one of the main guys behind that amazing Bayonetta guide, and he's got a lot of impressive action game videos from God Hand to Viewtiful Joe to even No More Heroes, so he's VERY good at figuring games out and breaking down their mechanics.

edit: LOVE the action command cancelling bit in the second half. Do a Stinger with the fist, draw a sword, press B, A which not only confirms your weapon switch but also does the rising sword attack.

September needs to hurry on up.

I squealed.

I see myself using right stick for small commands and the touchpad for large commands. Maybe complex ones (Hammer, Bomb, Claw) too.

Yes, happened to most. But the feeling of figuring everything out is amazing, each time you play you get deeper into the mechanics.

I think the Speed Liner is gonna be one of those essential upgrades, right after Unite Guts/Spring. You can do inputs very quickly and accurately with the right stick, as you see in that video

I'm guessing Bayonetta. In the Iwata asks they said it was a gun character.

However, they also made it sound like it came from a Nintendo game. Otherwise I'd have guessed Dante or Sylvia. Well, we'll find out eventually. And place it with spoiler tags so that I won't know.

I'm finding out there are some assumptions I had about the system I was wrong about. Specifically with Climb Attacks and Multi Morphs. I'll do another demo playthrough later to check.

Wow... that's insane. Seems like the right-stick is the way to go for advanced play since it's so much faster.

I can't way to see what people figure out once they have everything unlocked in the game.

Saur is on Team Right Stick

Stay losing Retro_, my light-skinned brotha

lol

to be fair, I haven't used speed liner.(which is what Saur is using in that video)

Could make all the difference if you can be accurate and fast with that

Good stuff though. Sucks this game is gonna get ripped apart before I even get a chance to touch it though with Saur already on the job.

Awesome video. I've just sat down with the demo again to celebrate my weeks-long misery now approaching and started to play it a little slower to better understand the mechanics of it. Truly a viewtiful battle system.

The Birthday Skeleton
It's available to buy on the eshop.

It even talks about the promotion.

I see it in the eshop, I see the promotion, it lists Pikmin as purchased (via Game code too), but I don't have an active "Purchase" button for W101 yet, as normal. It lists the game as available starting 23.08, so after midnight. Do you have a "Purchase" button?

KingSnake

The Birthday Skeleton
Let me check again.

I saw it listed for £39.99. Maybe I got ahead of myself.

I think the 30% will be applied only in the purchasing steps, not on the listed price. As long as you go to promotion and you have the Pikmin there marked as purchased it should not be a problem, I think.

Unite Hand is stronger and does more damage and can also
absorb fire attacks like when that one robot gets down in a position like a dog and shoots it out of its head, then Unite Hand will shoot a fireball its next attack or something
but maybe you already knew all of this.

By the way, it's not a huge spoiler, saw it in that Youtube video of the demo walkthrough by that guy decent at the game.

That's good to know, cheers! Didn't know it did more damage, and the fire thing's new to me - will have to experiment with it more! Thanks :)

That system breakdown video makes me feel small time.

Noticing that the whip wielding Wonder Pink comes from Transylvania was one thing but then upon looking through her bio it turns out her whip is made from a "Belmont Alloy", guess that was no coincidence then. Speaking of which i'm liking it a lot more than I expected over the current weapons.

Man some of the set pieces in this game could be insanely awesome in a 3D platformer, of course this game not being of that genre and having an isometric camera has made me bungle the run and jump while everything falls to bits moments more times than i'd like to admit.

The game is coming out in like an hour and I thought I'd go back to the Project-100 days and have a look at how things progressed and I stumbled upon the goldmine thread.

Project P-100 (Nintendo/Platinum Games) announced for WiiU [Director: Hideki Kamiya]

I forgot how crazy that thread was. I'm not calling anyone out as it was E3 which is crazy in and of itself but yeah some of this is infuriating and hilarious to read I mean it was E3 so I guess its expected but yeah it was a crazy train ride...even I was unsure. Never doubt Platinum I guess :) I'm sure a few people haven't changed their tune on this and that is absolutely fine and to be fair a lot of people have given the game a go and rightfully so. It's all good I guess and I'm not here to belittle and laugh at anyone because even I was the same. E3 is crazy I guess and so are console launches. But its amazing to go back and read all this stuff both good bad and funny. Even to see how the trailer has bits that the same as the final game, graphics updates, and even the theme song thats the same etc.A lot of posters (including those buying this game in an hour or so and are in this very thread) were very supportive of the game so it had its fair share of lovers. That is whats important.

The game has come a long way. Europe...we're almost there.

The Wonderful 101 is a much superior name too!
