GameStop managers get free XB1, PS4 and 7 games

I'm gonna call BS cuz my manager owes me $100 that they've been putting off for paying be since Feb. And no doubt the manager will just either immediately trade in for cash (or wait a month before doing so) or kept it at home and let it collect dust and never play it. Mean while I've been at EB/GS for 12 years and haven't gotten as much as a "thanks for not knocking over a magazine rack" card. Oh well...thems the breaks. Gotta sells them Maddens tomorrow

Wait a minute. You remember when the 360 launched? MS had a huge deal with MTV for the launch of the console and they were just handing them out to people?

I wonder if Sony has thought to do something similar?

every gamestop manager I know lives a miserable life. that job sucks, this is literally the only benefit to it.

So MS "bribes" journalists by giving them free XBoxen and Sony "bribes" GS managers by doing something similar.

Considering the PS4 bribed us all first with the low sticker price, I guess this is OK. MS has bribed tier 1 EU countries with FIFA too.

Still waiting on a bribe for us united states gamers MS. I'm open to it.

Good for them, but it would have been nicer if Sony gave the PS4s to Gamestop employees who are less likely to afford them.

They don't leave the conference with these products.. It gets delivered from the company giving it to the manager right around the launch.. sometimes a few days before sometimes a few days after

No you don't. trust me on this. Their annual conference is the only perk. Their pay is very very low and they usually have to work 50 or more hours a week.

These motherfuckers really are selling brand new copies of Metroid/Xenoblade as used. Everything about the games are mint condition.

That would probably be too many consoles and how would they judge if a person can afford a console or not?

I'm actually glad to hear this, if only because Microsoft has been doing the strategic bribe thing for years now, and it's been very effective. Sony needs to be just as aggressive.

Doesn't mean they still got it earlier? GT6 launch is on December 6th; and i think those managers will get that package around the PS4 launch day (November 15th); that's still like 2 weeks before the launch (giving and taking days).

Sony has actually always been very good at these GameStop conferences... They've given GS managers Vitas, ps3's and tons of games

Microsoft usually just gives free copies of first party titles
