GTA V has gone gold.

I finished Gay Tony last week but played the club management for just 10 minutes or so. Seemed like a chore to me, just walking through the club and looking around. Or does it go beyond that at a certain point?

Anyway, a bit late, but preordered the game today!

It's definitely an acquired taste. Slowly bouncing towards those arrows, listening to loud club music scanning the audience, or reporting to the bathroom can feel repetitive. But it's your job! Joni may call you in the office... Or it'll be time to escort a D-list celebrity to a new location.

I loved it!

This is ridiculous. I feel like the entire 2 year wait has been doubled and squeezed into this final stretch right before release.

This week is gonna take forever.

Holy goodness, you're #TeamFranklin too?!

We've got the same spirit ! JAY ROCK ALL DAY, although I swear Ab-Soul is the best lyricist in TDE!

Franklin all day!

Kendrick though... Haha Ab and Jay are great though.

Really like the hip hop/rap they nabbed for this one in general.

It's strange- I'm with you on Vercetti. Like, Vice City remains my favorite GTA iteration ever, but I wasn't too keen on the main protagonist. It didn't help that I couldn't dissociate Ray Liotta from the character- that's why I appreciate the fact that they are going with lesser known (but more talented!) voice actors.

Klebitz I dug- felt like such a badass riding in the gang, and representin'

You're on the money with VC. Great game, just didn't get on with Tommy. Not that he was necessarily a bad character or anything.

I like the mechanics and the plot of TLAD, which reminded me a little of RDR's backstory, but I just felt Klibetz was a bit... I dunno... snively, I guess?

Other than Luis, I think Niko is probably the best. Had more depth than all the other GTA white boys.

I think my favorite is looking to be Franklin for GTA V. All the people he interacts with are kinda dumb or crazy, like all the other people Luis deals with.

And his trailer is the best. "You Ain't Gotta Like It Cause the Hood Gon' Love It"

"You ain't got no respect!"
"I got respect for reality!"

CJ was my favorite cause I thought he was hilarious.

"What you think I'm made of, pudding?"

Finally started playing RDR today, in preparation for GTA V. I actually had it for two months already, got it along with few other games when I bought PS3 this July and I ended up playing the other games. Then month ago I got GTA IV Complete but after 30 hours I got tired of samey missions (really, pretty much all you do in GTA IV as Niko is just killing people for... reasons I often don't care about, DLC seem to be better than that though), I hoped I would finish the main story in a month but I'm taking a break. With GTA V along the way, I have no idea when I'll actually finish this thing.

GTA V is going to be the first "bought on Day 1" game ever. I always buy used or new if the price is good, but this... I want it to be different.

Also, I hope there's some sort of underground military base hidden below the mountains, something like the Cheyenne Mountain Complex for example.

I still remember the first time you are able to free roam in GTA IV. Walking down the stairs, and out into the street. And the world is there, and you don't know what to do.

GTA really is something else.

That feeling again. So soon. Ahh, and in the best regional area of the series too. And I'm an east coaster

Just stop with GTA IV altogether and go play The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC. Way more interesting and you don't need to play the main game beforehand.

Cause once GTA V comes out you will not want to come back to the old GTA haha

Definitely agree with the people saying Luis is one of the better GTA characters. Would've loved more of his story. The guy who voiced him did a great job too.

I'm looking forward to learn more about Trevor. The trailers have pretty much portrayed him as a complete lunatic, but I'm wondering if there's more to him.

I did a few missions and yeah, you immediately feel it's something different - better and more like an actual GTA game. I could probably finish it in a week but I got tired of GTA IV in general so I'll stay with RDR - need some fresh air in them rural areas.

To be honest, after San Andreas every GTA, or any open world game really, that's limited to a single city without anything surrounding it feels very cramped. Though I'm never tired of Vice City.

Anyone know if the rumoured ability to make custom licensee plates came true? Or even if each car has a unique plate?

The best thing about 3 characters is that you can role play them each differently instead of trying to do things that seem out of character. You can play Michael as the professional guy who wears suits and does things mostly by the book outside of his specific jobs. Franklin can dress like a gangster and do drive by's, petty thefts etc. Trevor can be your typical psycho GTA character who just shoots everybody and goes on rampages while driving a monster truck. It's like they made a character for every play style.

There was one screenshot/screencap where you saw a car with a custom license plate. Could be just specific to a mission/cutscene though.

Custom plates were in Midnight Club LA, and since Rockstar likes to lift some features from other games... definitely possible. Screenshots show that plates are indeed different on every car so...

I was wondering there for a moment if Michael, for example would be like Tony Montana in Scarface: TWIS, refusing to shoot civilians as that's just not something he's okay with, while Trevor not having any reservations whatsoever.

If i pre-order the digital version on PSN is there way to set up automatic download? Like there is with auto updates where my ps3 turns on at 1-2am and updates everything

If you pre order on the EU store when you confirm the pre order it gives you an option to download it during the automatic download period you've set up with PSN. Might be only because the EU has the preload but you don't get charged for pre ordering so you can check it anyway.

So, I just had a thought. Has anyone considered how the 'BUSTED' system works? It was pretty poor in GTA IV (why wouldn't you resist? If you died, at least you kept your weapons). Hopefully several cops can jump on you, making arrest unavoidable if you get too careless. And how do you balance this? Well, you make it so that you can control one of the other characters as the arrested character gets driven to a police station. If you're quick enough, you could rescue your friend from arrest. Perhaps as insurance, you could call one of the other protagonists to ask them to join you, so that they already headed towards you in the event you are arrested.

I'm basically going to be spending a week thinking about the coolest features they probably didn't put into GTA V.

Guys chill out!!!

Your going over on the hype train!

Everyone knows when you overhype the train derails once you get on it !!

Learnt that the hardway overhyping games like Christmas Eve feeling a bit let down by the end product

I don't get it.
Well you sit there going how amazing it's going to be, expecting something to blow your mind

But when you get it? Your imagination has created it's own visionary of what you expect to play, but what you get differs from the imagination, anything from player handling, how the story is told etc and feel let down

Everyone here right now will have a different imagination of how the game is going to feel and play

Really hope they didnt Derp up the driving too much. Hopefully its still a little realistic while being fun. If its anything like MC / NFS / saints row, ill be pretty pissed

I can't just follow the damn hype train, CJ.

It will surpass my expectations, but I still want to remain skeptical until the day of release.

That would be awesome.

One of the previews mentioned that they've changed the police system so that all cars have a line of sight now. I assume they've made some alterations to the busted system too.

I've been trying to remain as unhyped as possible, not because of GTA IV, I love GTA IV. But getting hype before I install GTA V and press the play tile would result in me not being able to think straight, I'd become loony with anticipation.

This is really a great idea. Something they could definitely get away with now that there are multiple characters. I'm really interested in finding out how notoriety works. Like if you kill one thousand cops, you can't just hide in the parking lot for a few minutes until your stars go down and walk out with no problem. Hopefully there is a way to like pay someone to decrease your notoriety or something. Or a bounty system on the player.

I know they said something about masks... But I think they'll probably mostly stick to the old GTA wanted system.

Almost there

Definitely real. We've already heard of them coming into warehouses and shit...
