Probably already answered, but do we know when the review embargo is up?
I read somewhere on GAF that the embargo is up after the midnight launch. IGN will post their review on Friday though.

The amount of detail in GTA IV goes unappreciated.
I failed quite a few missions often, and you end up realizing that each mission has multiple variations on the 'car dialogue' (the talking that happens while you drive to your objective), dialogue for failing depending on how you failed etc. I wasn't aware that there was different dialogue depending on the missions you had done previously, and in what order. I'm amazed that there is different failure dialogue for letting a person die, abandoning them or wrecking your car. And this is on a per mission basis.
Amazing stuff. It'll be interesting to see if GTA V does something similar, with the multiple protaganists ("You let Franklin get shot, Trevor" for instance).

Do we even know who all has the game aside from IGN? I know none of us small guys that are supposed to be getting a copy have got one yet.
Deffo dont want to put a negative spin on it, its impossible tbh, especially with the positivity from everyone inc IGN, their pretty much promoting the game... but dont they generally say if a developer is confident of their game they will release a couple weeks before launch, so the review gets around, thats what they did with The Last of US and that just picked up momentum... They released a week before E3 I think it was, it wasnt out until after.
So we figured Michael might be De Niro, Who are the other two?
Not really. Plenty of bigger games that don't need positive reviews to get the word out have late embargo dates. Red Dead was the day before release and that's sitting at a 95 on Metacritic. Skyrim was a day before and that got a 96.Deffo dont want to put a negative spin on it, its impossible tbh, especially with the positivity from everyone inc IGN, their pretty much promoting the game... but dont they generally say if a developer is confident of their game they will release a couple weeks before launch, so the review gets around, thats what they did with The Last of US and that just picked up momentum... Just read GTA 4 was day before release... Must just be how Rockstar roll
Walton Goggins is Trevor. Not sure about Franklin.

I think they just want as little spoiled about the game as possible before release.Just read GTA 4 was day before release... Must just be how Rockstar roll
Just listened to the IGN Australia podcast where the guy talks about his hands-on time with the game. He sounded sincerely impressed, game sounds neat

One thing that sticks out for me is how they mentioned the brightness of the game, the graphics, and how it feels so much more brighter than IV, and has that feel summer "hot" feel to it. I do think this has to do with how much time they have spent with the game in polishing it and optimizing the game.
Obviously NYC gritty compared to the sunshine of LA makes sense but I can't wait to see the brightness of the game, and also they mentioned the shadows being very well done.
Like bosses!
I like those "Day of release" reviews. Sitting in line, waiting for the game, critically reading every review!
The detail in GTA IV was insane. I was just playing this last night, and Little Jacob lights a fatty, causing the car to billow out smoke. Then as he gets out, he throws the evidence out the window.
Then at another point, a guy was running from the cops, and ran into someone who was looking in their trunk. Guy with the gun falls over after running into the guy at his car, and the policeman than arrests him. He's on his way to the police car, and someone comes out of nowhere and hits the guy. Person in the car drives off, with the policeman getting in his vehicle and taking off after the car.
Really impressive.

I'm gonna say it: Niko was my favourite GTA protagonist. There. I feel... lighter.
GTAV, though, I'm going in raw.

I did this with AC2. I bought it midnight, but I didn't open the shrink wrap until the next morning after reviews. GTAV, though, I'm going in raw.
Whoa! EVER?! I think I like Luis Lopez best- followed by CJ!
An exclusive review, really?
Luis was the best!
Attitude, wit, badassness... And he had that token GTA "What the hell are all these crazy people doing and why am I helping them" personality down like none other!
I still remember the first time you are able to free roam in GTA IV. Walking down the stairs, and out into the street. And the world is there, and you don't know what to do.
GTA really is something else.
#TeamLuis ! He was such a boss- he actually gave a shit about Tony, tried to balance between this old haunts and all the lunacy around him. Updated K109 was so rad! Lagerfeld's musings while Yusuf sending us on amazing missions really cemented my love for it!
Yeah I loved GTAIV vanilla but everytime I load up GTA to kill some time, it's always The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Whoa, never experienced anything like that before. Most I've had was getting into fist fights with random peds and kiting them near a cop, who will arrest them and drive away.
To be honest the traffic ign gets and the amount of promoting they have been doing, it sort of makes sense
Yup. Controversial, I know. He's a, complicated, cool guy (except when it comes to family) with an interesting story and past. I really like VAs delivery, too.
Luis is a total badass and CJ has some cracking dialogue. Both are really fleshed out compared to the others ('cept Niko, of course).
Cannot stand Johnny or Vercetti, though. Tommy made me a bit uncomfortable. Can't even remember why.

Other than Luis, I think Niko is probably the best. Had more depth than all the other GTA white boys.
I think my favorite is looking to be Franklin for GTA V. All the people he interacts with are kinda dumb or crazy, like all the other people Luis deals with.
And his trailer is the best. "You Ain't Gotta Like It Cause the Hood Gon' Love It"
