Japanese Viewers Loved Sony Japan’s PlayStation Press Conference

I enjoyed the conference a lot, Sony ended up showing more games than I thought (I went in expecting to only see Yakuza Ishin and the rest being footage from already announced games like Driveclub, Knack and Killzone). Glad I was proved wrong.

I sure hope so. It was the most stereotypical japanese gaming thing I've ever seen before.

There are already a lot of western-focused titles announced for PS4. It's better to balance it out with Japan doing what they do best, Japan-focused games.

i wonder what the people that voted 'bad' wanted?

Monster Hunter.

I'm sure the people watching the conference were more likely to be more supportive of Sony than the general public though.

I'm kind of surprised at this.

I thought they'd be more pissed that they have to wait till next year for PS4.

I'm not at all. While a slight few will be disappointed at the slight wait, most people won't mind waiting a few months to get it with games they want to play. Plus honestly, the hype for the ps4 is no where near what it is in the west yet here in Japan. But even if people were disappointed the fact is the conference had a lot of good games that would make gamers here quite happy. But pissed isn't he right word at all I feel.

Very surprised. There's hardly any Japanese focused game announced (except teasers). Launch lineup is very underwhelming.

Really?

Well, I guess the launch lineup to an extent, but there were plenty of Japanese focused games on display that's newly announced.

Its a 3 month difference. Saying next year makes it sound like a full 12 month delay, which is not the case.

yeah, and it doesn't help that nearly all of the headlines i saw today on feedly regarding the Japanese launch date had to emphasize how LONG it was.

"a WHOLE 100 DAYS after launch"
"unfortunately"
"have to wait 3 whole months"
etc.

fucking videogame press.... jeez....

Can't say I'm surprised considering my taste in games, it was the best PS4 related conference IMO so far since the majority of the games appeal to me.

For me it gives me a reason to hold onto my PS4 preorder since there are guaranteed Japanese games within only a few months after the AU launch.

Glad to hear they're happy. The PS4 launch is pretty much being tailored for them, right? And they don't have to worry about supply shortages. I bet that the PS Vita TV will be big for them, right?
Okay then EDIT: I hope you guys know this is a joke too, healthy fun, not taking a jab.

Would people who weren't happy really stick around to answer that poll?

(The correct answer is "No, they'd just stop watching" but "No" is acceptable.)

You underestimate a person's will to express their hatred of something.
See: GAF.

They'd just go somewhere else to do that then.

Just clicking an option on a short poll at the end of a stream doesn't seem sufficient to express even the tiniest of hatred properly.

At least here we can type out long, winding paragraphs about our hate.

I wish I could be excited like them. No sign of Freedom Wars outside of that 4 second clip from the very first trailer left me with blue balls.

The asian market is a bit more humble and the developers and publishers are a lot more open to them then to America since the culture differs. Deception is a big no-no and if the developers explain themselves as to why PS4 is launching later (which they did), they gladly take it!
