PokéBOMB XII: The Final CoroCountdown

Huh? Of course it's part Fire. It's the evo of Litleo, which is Fire/Normal.

Flawless victory in terms of design. Genwunners am cry.

I'm no genwunner, but do you really think that thing even holds a candle to Arcanine? It's not even close. (I know, lion vs dog isn't the same thing, but they're close enough to where one looks good and one looks like Simba with a red, flared-out mane.)

I wonder if Pyroar will have gender differences.

OH SHIT I DIDN'T NOTICE

Someone said in /vp/ that the mane has a fucking KANJI of FIRE!

Someone said it on GAF too. :p

Holy shit it does have the fire kanji!

Guys, his mane is fire blast. Seriously.

EDIT: Beaten. And TIL fire blast is the kanji symbol for fire.

Anyway, Pyroar is a great design. I'm hoping for gender differences and perhaps a retyping, although I can't think of anything that makes more sense than Normal/Fire.

I always roll with the best ingame Pokémon so I never have to grind and can just repel myself through most of the game.

So I won't know my team until the game releases.

But any mid-tier Pokemon is good enough to avoid grinding completely (unless you get like the full 6 before 2nd gym, then you'll have to grind or only use some of the team, until the game adjusts to a full party)

On the other hand, having a team full of powerhouses makes you overpowered even with minimal EXP gains.

Fennekin and Froakie's evos are alright. Lol Chespin. Cat and fossil
Pokemon are nice. Mega Garchomp looks freaking vicious. Mewtwo X isn't Mewtwo Y bad I guess...

Quick look at of the 35 Pokemon that've had their types revealed.

  1. Fairy: 6
  2. Normal: 5
  3. Flying: 5
  4. Fire: 4
  5. Grass: 4
  6. Water: 4
  7. Dark: 4
  8. Psychic: 3
  9. Bug: 3
  10. Fighting: 2
  11. Electric: 2
  12. Rock: 2
  13. Dragon: 2
  14. Steel: 1
  15. Ghost: 1
  16. Ice: 1
  17. Poison: 1
  18. Ground: 0

57.1%, or 20/35 Pokemon, are single typed. 42.9%, or 15/35, are dual typed.
18/35, or 51.4%, have an evolution among the other reveals. 1 is an evolution of a previous Pokemon (Sylveon).

This does not include Orotto or Pyroar.

Fire Blast's kanji is for"big" 大 not "fire" 火

Not necessarily. It's for one of the Daimonji kanji (which is big :p) but it is based on the festival which involves fire being made on the mountains.

Akuma likes that in his stages in various Street Fighter games.

It's really disappointing that the new Pokemon this gen are spot on and some of the best designs in a very long time, but then they go and mess up the starter evos. They are all bad besides Froakie2 which is just a rehash Swampert. Can't we just get one more gen with good starter designs across the board? The last time that happened was Gen 2.

Don't buy it, if you're that displeased with it. I, for one, love the new starter designs, and Froakie2 is a suave motherfucker in my book.

What? A rehash Swampert? It's a frelling Ninja Frog! I kinda like Swampert, but this is 100000 times better! >_<

[EDIT]
Also, people, they won't ever be able to make it so that everyone would like EVERY pokemon ever. And they seems to know it, as they are not trying to do it. They make diverse designs, so that everyone could at least find some they like. And seeing all the arguing about "who is the best/worst", and seeing almost no one agreeing completely with anyone else, actually proves to me that they succeeded. I have seen at least one people proclaiming their love to each pokemon revealed this far, and everyone saying they liked at least a handful of them. We can even see this in the rankings of the old starters everybody have been doing. Everyone of them are ranked first by at least one person. IMHO, this proves me they have made a very good job at designing them.

Also, hating on the pokemon you don't like is not only pointless because of this, as there is no "one greatest pokemon", but it's also aggravating and insulting towards the fans of those you are hating like this. If you don't like a pokemon, it's cool, I understand, I don't like every one of them either, like I don't like Charizard or Garchomp... But I don't go on saying Venusaur is superior or that Charizard is
some stupid pseudo dragon that dies as soon as you throw him a rock
(not my words, I don't think of him like that, it's just an example of the language I have seen used here by some). I will say I prefer Venusaur, or that I don't find Charizard that interesting for me, both by being too aggressive for my taste and by having pretty huge weakness I don't feel I would be able to overcome. I will still respect others that like him.

Ouf... That was a big weight!

On my thought of the Evo of the starters:
Froakie is exactly how I imagined it. Damn, I guess I'll have to use Water for the second time after Wotter... :/ So again no Golduck on my team. Damn.
Fenekin is actually pretty cool. I LOVE witches, and even more witches associated with foxes, and even more when they are redheads... Very Tempting!
Chespin is SO CUTE! Seriously, it looks like a very bouncy ball of happiness and joy. And if it does evolve into a knight, he will be awesome...

...
Damn, I think it will be the first time I play with the three of them in my team. xD I just want to have them all!

And the fossils:
Ok, that Ice/Rock one probably have one of the last combinaison of type that is almost unplayable... But it's ability. WOW. Still, he doesn't look like he will have enough speed to pull it off... Maybe in a Trick Room? But that is some risky startegy here.
The T-Rex one on the other hand is just too cute! It also doesn't have a good typing, but eh, it's a fossil, and the rock type is pretty awful, and it's still better that Ice/Rock. Also, he looks like a very good attacker, and he have a pretty swell ability. We just have to hope he will have the movepool to go with it. (How many pokemons can get the ability to power punch attacks, yet have only a handful of them?) (note: pun not intended)

I also like that the cats have the dreamy helpful male trope and the violent prideful female trope. xD Pretty interesting to see their movepool changing between male and female.

And finally Mewtwo X: Aaaw, damn. I'll get X, but I prefer Mewtwo Y... :( Eh, I'll ask my friend to trade, he doesn't like Mewtwo Y. :/

Final note: WoW! All the fanart looks awesome. I really like the pokemon art community. xD

This guy's superior to Arcanine. Arcanine always looked too scruffy for my tastes. I've never been a fan of spiky fur. Arcanine is overdesigned compared to the streamlined majesty of PYROAR.

I really love how unique these Pokemon are getting. All of them have a new ability, or an unheard of type combination, or a gimmick exclusive to the species, or even some combination. It certainly makes them memorable as characters. Otherwise these would end up being "just another pokedex entry"

This right here. This is EXACTLY how I feel about Pokemon!

I personally have pretty strange taste in favorites. I tend to appreciate the weirder Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Dunsparce, and Armaldo more than I do some of the more popular ones such as Lucario and Garchomp.
Although Mega Garchomp is all kinds of Gigan-like awesome.
If Game Freak only made Pokemon that I enjoyed, there'd be a ton of people who wouldn't like any of them, and vice-versa.

It seems to me like Game Freak has been trying to make an even broader variety of Pokemon in the last few gens, and that seems to create these polarizing effects on people. Some people really love Pokemon A and hate B, while others absolutely love B and don't care about A. It's a give and take. On one hand, less people tend to like every 'mon. On the other hand, people tend to love certain Pokemon to death.

Ahahaha. Chikorita line ''good''.

Gen IV is leagues ahead of Gen ll starters.

Froakie evo looks nothing like Swampert either.

So anybody want to see how good the Ice/Rock fossil is with ice skin? Hopefully it learns Giga Impact, Double Edge and very low chance Extremespeed. So much damage.

The imagery used in fire blast is indeed taken from the Daimonji festival in Kyoto but the character itself means big. So yeah, it is necessarily the kanji for big ;)
