Capcom announced Blade Fantasia - New fantasy RPG by the Breath of Fire creator

I kept expecting the iOS cause Duckroll posted, and then when I finished the post and didn't see anything I had a moment of hope, crushed by the spoiler :(

So if the BoF creator isn't working on BoF6 who is?

I have an excuse. I've been playing GTA5. Makes me a terrible person!

Dat spoiler tag.

The producer from DmC is working on this which means no more DmC2 in the future at least. Although I guess that was confirmed when it was learned that NT is working on something else.

Well, to be fair, he could be making two things at once.

AA5 and DmC had development time overlap.

Great, bring it out on Vita, and we'll talk.

I like the art, but that's pretty common for these games...

The worst is that you see that gorgeous breath of fire styled artwork in the op, and the actual game looks like any random Korean rpg..

Are people in Japan buying into this shit?

I thought all they did was play Puzzle and Dragons

I kind of hope all of these crappy mobile cash grabs coming out of SE and Capcom crash hard...

Like it would matter since they likely cost next to nothing to make. Maybe its profitable for them

The biggest problem with iOS gaming is, unlike normal handhelds which are at least around and can play -all- games released on it, iOS games will continue to be developed for the newest iterations of the iPhone. So, while it may be able to be played on something like the 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 5C now, future games will eventually no longer be able to be played on 4 due to the constant change and upgrades in hardware on Apple's end.

That may not be a problem to some people, but it is a problem for those who can't upgrade their phone/iPod/iPad every time a new version comes out.

I called the platform.

Same. I saw the title and had two simultaneous thoughts:

"There's no platform mentioned in the title"
"There's no exclamation points"

Made me realize it was a mobile game. Like, it wasn't even a question. If Capcom revealed a game like this for the PS4 (maybe even the PS3) it would be a BIG DEAL and probably end up posted about in all caps or something.

Oh well.

Okay, this sounds awesome right away. Makoto Ikehara? Let me look him up! Wow, glad I know who was behind all this stuff now. Time to check out the trailer! Looks pretty! Wait, what is that shape... *pause* *goes back to OT* *reads spoiler*

First time I have felt the sting of a duckroll troll... Doesn't feel good.

Since Duckroll posted it, my eyes darted around the OP to look for the words "Mobile" or "iOS". Not this time, Sir.
Same. Kinda getting predictable, lol. The title even gave it a "too good to be true" sort of thing.

I like the music in the trailer a lot. And it looks fairly interesting... but I doubt it's going to avoid the microtransaction nonsense. -_-

I love how they are taking some of the best talent in the industry and making them make shitty mobile cash grab games

All because they see dollar signs above the heads of common people who just want to play word games and candy crush.

Oh and Puzzles and Dragons. Fuck that game for ruining JRPGs forever

My hope will likely lie with new talent. Maybe the indies will make the next great JRPG

Looks pretty cool to me. The battle system of queueing up cards from a sort of deck felt a little like KH CoM. Visually looked nice if a little flat. Nice music. I'd definitely try this.

I miss the dozens of B-tier RPGs the DS got. I'm not even againsf iOS as a platform - I think RPGs are well suited for it -, but in nearly every case, games like this look to be gimped in one way or another.

This one in particular doesn't look appealing at all in that trailer. >_>

I almost got a little excited then I thought to myself "wait... a Duckroll thread about a Capcom game...".

Avoided disappointment by the skin of my teeth haha.

I think it's actually more sad that I didn't fall for it this time

edit: in all fairness though, it doesn't look bad. Still need to find out what the monetization strategy is before expressing any genuine interest.
