Capcom announced Blade Fantasia - New fantasy RPG by the Breath of Fire creator

Anyone able to see if there are signs of IAP/MicroTrans in that trailer

Almost seems like a given at this point

Gawd the graphics and UI are generic as fuck

Looks like every other crappy mobile RPG UI ever

At least add some art to the damn thing

I think the real discussion here is that are JRPG's on consoles going to be a (very) rare commodity? It seems mobile gets the vast, vast majority of all new JRPG titles now.

A lot of these iOS games should get Vita ports...something like the iOS version of Theatrythm would be perfect on the Vita.

I don't know why they don't do it. It's easy money.

$@%K this @#$T..

Seriously, thsi iOS crap is out of control.... jrpgs are dead, lets all face it, never again will we see the medium jRPGs again, Yosh was right...

Is it so hard to understand that some people loathe playing on touch-only cellphones?

Heck I wouldnt even mind so much playing turn based classic JRPGS on my phone if they were ANYWHERE near resembling a quality experience

So far the closest thing we have got is Chaos Rings and Infinity Blade?

Hell are those even universally loved? We have ports like FF1-5 and FFT i guess.

Watching that trailer makes it really hard for me to believe that old BOF talent is attached to that. Seriously?

1st, why must it be mobile-only? Port it at least to the PC.
2nd, why must all Capcom mobile games be iOS-only? I'm really thinking buying an iPad only for gaming.

I saw duckrolls name before I clicked, so wasn't as disappointed as I otherwise would have been.

That said, hope this doesn't fall into the "it's mobile so why bother trying" trap. If it ends up being good it'll probably get a 3ds port anyway

Still don't understand why people get so upset about IOS announcements.
I'm not upset about the platform (though I'd need an Android port), I'm upset that the game in the video linked in the OP looks rather shitty. And there seems to be a significantly higher concentration of shallow RPG-lites on smartphones than any other platform.

Someone mentioned that it looked like a korean MMO earlier which was damn spot on

We get BoF6, we get a new RPG from the director of BoF 3-5, the platform in question is in a handheld format. Yet none of these things are as they should be.

I don't want to believe they're doing this on purpose.

And yet...

Yeah, so far I've seen lots of too simple, not good RPG titles on iOS. Having no buttons hurt mechanics for sure. SRPG/TRPG can be a pretty good fit for the platform, though.

Thats the sad part

IT COULD work but the quality of the titles always heads straight to shit instantly. Then they design the game around IAP and all hope of playing an actual game go out the window.

And what is this engine they are using that makes all of theses titles look like flash games. Seriously Try a different visual filter, some new fonts, or something!
