Meh if they ban my gamertag they can go right the hell on ahead. I have nothing I want to play anymore this gen except for gta5 and I can do that on my ps3/ps4/pc. I wish I could still muster up care for my account with a massive achievement score but after the fiasco that is the xbone I've been struck with a lack of caring. And it'd be a great excuse for finally selling my library of xbox360 games. I own everything worth caring about on Steam now anyway.

I just whooped bane's ass in Injustice last night with the batmobile. Also Diablo 3 play session for a few hours 10pm est. No ban. Also the glitch still works right now to get injustice i believe. Time for a fake rumor.
major nelson enabled gltich so he would have people to play injustice with....

I tried this yesterday, and reached a point where it said it was downloading Injustice, but never even got to 1%. Today I went to resume the download on the dummy profile, and while it was there, shortly after selecting resume, I got an error message that said it couldn't be downloaded.
A bit later, I now can't connect to XBox Live. When I run a connection test, it connects to the network and the internet fine, but not XBox Live.
I have had intermittent connection problems recently, but normally a connection test resolves it. I'm quite concerned. Does anybody here know if you get a specific message/e-mail if your console is banned?
Also, if you do get banned, are you unable to access any Live content at all? Not even see ads and stuff on the dashboard?
Also, I can log into my account on XBox.com just fine, and view my messages and stuff.
Even if this is a coincidence, I'm not trying anything like this again, and I advise others to follow suit. It's not worth the risk and worry.

I disagree. No-one will be banned for Microsoft's mistake, and if you're worried, don't play the game on your main account.
For downloading issues you could try migrating the account to your real country, it's done on the Xbox website.
It tells a lot about MS' image when even their fans are scared of getting banned for minimal reasons.

All part of the plan on those inside Microsoft who want xbone to fail. if accounts are banned , less will feel attached to their gamer scores and can change platform more easily!
Ms will be stupid to ban people at this period, won't be surprise this free account stuff is intended lol there are no big releases with Xbox 360 and games with gold only generate little good will. Not good if people get more attached to trophies than achievements
/sExploiting the system could still be a reason for a ban.

That's true, lol. Though I imagine those were a little harder to track, then again, I imagine MS also doesn't want to risk banning someone who legitimately is from Oman.

Well I haven't been banned yet but I have a feeling that there must have been at least some people making fake accounts and then trying to sell them with the games attached (not sure if this was done, but I would be surprised if some people on CAG or slickdeals didn't at least try). I'm sure those will be banned, the rest of us? I hope not but I think they would be in their rights to do so.
If I am banned at least it will give me an excuse to make one of those complaints on xbox.com where I pretend to be my own dad and am outraged that my precious angel son was banned as he never does anything wrong.

Just got home after having been out for a couple of hours. Connected to XBox Live now, and all seems well.
Call it paranoia, but I'm staying well away from exploits like this in the future, even if that "downtime" was unrelated. I was worried sick.

Agreed, the assurances of fellow GAF members while appreciated isn't enough to convince me that nothing is going to happen.
A lot of people are on edge (myself included) - even though only one person has been banned, potentially for something unrelated!
It only takes one to scare the 100 others. Lets hope Dark was worth it (although I can't bring myself to launch any other games aside from injustice, heh)

if youre banned you can still connect to xbl. a message pops up and tells you, "you got banned till XX/XX/XXXX".

It makes you wonder about digital purchases. Since 2006 I've sunk more than £1000 in to my account (GoD, 140+ XBLA, DLC). If the account got banned, that's it. Still playable on the console, but if you didn't have it all downloaded, or the console broke - game over. Its like them coming in to your house and just taking all the games off the shelf.
I had a similar... worry... with Steam. I bought Saint's Row 4 from Amazon US, not realising it was region locked. I had to bend the ToS to activate it. If Valve banned me, that's 440 games gone.
In a world moving towards a digital library, there needs to be terms in place. Stop playing online/buying more, but you should still be able to get on a limited version of XBL, that's just your download history.

Xbox service check says they're having problems with xbox.com which may have something to do with it.

You guys are easily scared. 5 minutes of connection problems and you're running for the hills, swearing you'll never do it again. Nobody got banned, nobody will get banned. Jeez guys. This stuff has been going on for YEARS. If I'm proven wrong, you may mock me. Until then, I'll happily keep exploiting any and all glitches I can.

I have £158 (about $225) on my account. I bought a shitload of MS points, of which I still have a lot left (just converted to real money £).
If my account were to be banned, I'd lose all of that. So I really don't care about being a bit paranoid.

Don't think so. I just tried to get Dungeon Fighter Live and Ikaruga. The first didn't show up, Ikaruga did but it only showed a free trial (one that I couldn't even start to download for some reason...)

Downloading games in this manner is nothing like stealing. Firstly, no one has literally lost anything. You can talk about lost sales but that refers to something that may have existed, not something that does exist. Using this glitch doesn't cause you to take any money from Microsoft or a copy of the game that can no longer be used by another.
Furthermore, are you telling me that you've never taken advantage of a misprice in a store or on a web site? This mistake was left unchecked for several days, despite its wide exposure on the internet. If Microsoft was so intent on preventing its exploitation, it would have addressed this issue within a day at most.

Honestly, I didn't take advantage of this free games thing because I simply wasn't interested in any of the games listed, and I don't own any games that all the free dlc is tied to. I have a bad enough habit of paying for games I never play on Steam as it is. I doubt I would end up playing any games I get for free, so it would be a waste of time.
