Overlooked Wii gems

Yep, I forgot to mention that, both "GTA clones" that were a ton of fun, the guy who did the voice in Scarface was really good.

If I recall correctly, he was hand picked by pacino, who can't even do that voice anymore.

I've always liked the game since it came out, shame it never got a 360 or ps3 release.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of some good FPS games? I really really enjoyed Metroid Prime 3 with the wiimote. Are the Call of Duty games any good? Are they different from the the HD twins?

I know this is really late, but I have some recommendations.

The Goldeneye 007 remake is probably the best FPS on the system. Looks fantastic, controls well, and offers you the option to use stealth in a lot of areas, instead of shooting everything up.

Red Steel 2 is probably the best-controlling game in console shooter history. Just damn near flawless. Unfortunately, it seems they ran out of budget so there is no multiplayer, and literally nothing to do outside of playing through the story through once. (And you should play on hard, because otherwise the game is too easy.) Still, if you want to play a game that shows the full potential of Wii-style controls, this is the one.

The Call of Duty games were solid basically from World at War on, though they are often missing some features compared to their HD counterparts.

Which is better, De Blob or De Blob 2? I'd never heard of the game before, and now I can't decide which one to get. :/

(If I got De Blob 2, it would be the Wii version, as I don't actually have a PS360).

Most of the really good games have already been recommended like another code and sakura wars, but these games are pretty good if you can find them cheap.

Mini Ninja's
73840587565dd0c17fad113ba86208de-98.jpg

A charming little platformer where you can play as 4 different ninja's all with their own special ability. Best part that made me lol was that there is a boss fight who attacks by shitting on you.

Guilty Party

This one is a great party game kinda like a modern day Cluedo or if you are in the US Clue i believe.

The Kore Gang

this one feels like 90's platformer it is kinda on the short side. but i love those 3d like platformers and this one does not has all the collecting tons of stuff like back in the day.

I always felt a little guilty for not supporting that one out of patriotic duty or something like that since that was made in Germany. So you're saying this is for all the DK64 lovers out there?

Sorry, but that game is outright horrible, bad, awful, disgusting (to be continued). Yes, it might have been overlooked - but for good reason.

Eh, I thought it was passable. Not that I would recommend it to anybody but the most diehard 3D platformer fans, but it generally controlled well (other than that twirling move which was completely and utterly broken) and it had some neat ideas that weren't executed too poorly. It was about on the same level as Mushroom Men, and a fuckton better than crap like SPRay (which was mentioned earlier in this thread) and Flip's Twisted World.

No, he said it's NOT bogged down by invasive and unnecessary collectathoning

Endless ocean 2 - deceptively large game in terms of all the side-quests you can do. Beautiful creature models, beautiful ocean-scapes. The one thing I complain about is the strange music.

You'll all think I'm mad, but PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond.

While it's absolutely easy, it's a joy to play and the battles in it are great fun. It's a decent action adventure with a lot of battles, races and several minigames. It's definitely worth a go if you have any slight interest in Pokémon.

People dismiss it because it's a Pokémon spin-off and possibly aimed more towards kids, but it's a decent game.

Normally I would pick up most Pokémon games on release but I still need to add this to my collection. Wonder if it's on sale anywhere...

The sales of Sin and Punishment 2 are enough to make a grown man cry. It's like that famous composer whose sheet music all burned up in a fire and nobody ever heard of him... what's his name again?

If only they threw at least their own games onto the eShop. Make them executables that boot straight into Wii Mode without any Wii U features for all I care but having forgotten Wii gems available digitally would be ace. Same goes for DS titles. No need for emulators or any fancy stuff.

I think it was at least a spontaneous purchase for many when it became dirt cheap.

I did not know that. It was such a unique game and fairly ambitious for an early third party Wii game. I could see something like this looking glorious on the Wii U.

It's quite crazy that they got Dennis Hopper and Billy Bob Thornton to star in Wii game about a spider and a scorpion platforming and fighting through the environment. It sounds so absurd. Then you add on top that it was a THQ game and I guess their downfall makes more sense lol. I absolutely love that they let this get made, though. I will miss these days.

I still have my copy of S&P2 but I'd be down with releasing Wii games on WiiWare so they open up in Wii Mode. Of course, if anyone cared, they could probably find most Wii games cheaper used than what Nintendo would charge for a download.

I hope so. For their sake.

This game have awesome soudtrack and art collectibles. Quick Look: Domino Rally

See, this is the sort of game I want to find in here. Wii had so much shit that LOOKED like shovel ware and never got any coverage from any place. It's cool seeing something so weird and unique like this. My local Gamestop has it for 5 dollars, and now I kind of want to take a trip over there this weekend to buy it.

But seriously, more of this in this thread. I want to hear that stupid shit like that Lumberjack games (just using it as an example) is secretly awesome.

Speaking of which, Gamestop has a ton of crap Wii games (and some pretty decent ones) for well under 5 dollars each. Maybe now is the time to take some chances.

I recommend people interested in arcade racing to try FAST; it's my personal favorite arcade racer after F-Zero and Wipeout. It's a real shame such an amazing game didn't get a retail release, or wasn't on a more viable platform.

Shin'en is presumably working on a sequel for Wii U. At least that's what their continued hinting suggests.

No Madworld in the whole thread? lol :(
Also Lostwinds 2 was even better than the first game, but I think many didn't even know a sequel was out.

I feel like I have seen MadWorld in here at some point. Would be a crime not to mention it considering someone even named Escape from fucking Bug Island lol.

Also, I would even recommend skipping LostWinds 1 in favor of LW2 altogether. The second one was fantastic and I don't regret skipping the first one at all.

That's what happens once a console war is over. You realize what these systems ACTUALLY had. And the Wii had a lot of pretty great things going for it.

What are some good overlooked Wii multiplayer games? Perhaps ones that aren't exceptionally expensive, either?

Always looking for more multiplayer goodness.

I really wish Dokapon Kingdom was 10 bucks again.

I am the only person I know who owns this game. Never seen another friend with the wii who knows it and never seen anyone online who also owns it.

It is quite enjoyable actually, and there's a tower building kinda of game, it is the gem of this mini game compilation. I have 100+ hours on this one on the tower mini game alone.

The games I would've voted for have naturally already been mentioned, but I want to give my nod to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom because I don't think it gets enough credit.

No way, there is definitely a cult following for that game, if even just for one song. :p

edit: I never played it, so that might not even be the version you hear when on the menu or something.
