Quest for the Holy Relics: A NeoGAF DnD Play by Post Campaign

Likely to the false Evaneth's shock and disappointment, the Ranger is unexpectedly able to break away from his grip with exceptional ease and pulls away from him. "Sorry, but a Monk already tried that on me and I am prepared not to let it happen again."

Perception Check (1d20+21=41)

Taking a moment to shift his eyes towards the western side of the battle, Muun takes a safety step away from Evaneth and fires a single arrow at where he believes Ivor to be, not merely as an attack, but to show the rest of the party members where he has made himself unknown. He then turns his bow towards Evaneth swiftly, to put the rest of the arrows into the monk.

((Muun will take a five foot step away from Evaneth and use his first arrow to attack Ivor to give his position away, and then spend the rest of his attacks on Evaneth.))

Rapid Shot Full Attack Rolls (1d20+13+2+7+4=37, 1d20+13+2+7+4=28, 1d20+8+2+7+4=38, 1d20+3+2+7+4=30) ((The only temporary bonus I applied are rapid shot penalty and +2 from the potion because Invisible Castle's roll form has a limited text space, so apply the penalty from the spell from earlier and the bonuses Val is talking about apply. Also I think Point Blank Shot might apply for the arrows firing on Evaneth too, I'll have to look into that. High level D&D, ladies and gentlemen.))

Spared of any blows in the first exchange of battle, Tarkus pursues his foe with an eager tenacity. "Your blighted flesh and mind are insult to your name!" Gripping Perun with righteous fury, he sidesteps in preparation to strike. Shouting his words as loud as he can over the chanting, he continues.

"Sarm physical and mental balance represent respect and honor. You only represent bile in my throat, which about to join blood you are soon to spill!" Spitting forcefully on his opponent, Tarkus cleaves into the profane cleric once more, swinging a trio of attacks aimed at silencing its grotesque chanting by the most brutal means possible.

((Two handed strength bonus? Let me review my calculations. Here is Tarkus char sheet))

((EDIT: Ty for the heads up. Boo-urns. I'll fix my damage rolls.))

((EDIT 2: Yeah. I guess D&D uses int data type instead of float or double! Tarkus needs static_cast or setprecision (2) feat.))

((I figured as much. You simply round down and ignore anything after the decimal entirely.

You have been learning C++, right? Same thing there, pretty much.))

((Tarkus's second attack misses, and Suvne used a class ability to absorb half of the physical damage from the ones that did hit. Sarm is still alive and kicking, in case it matters for Val and Jack's turns.

Kid gloves are off for this fight, gentlemen! Even if it means every post takes me an hour to organize and type out, heh))

((Yeah, I wouldn't expect Sarm to go down that quick. Can Val five foot step to flank Sarm?

Write up will be forthcoming in a little bit, my little loin spawn shuts the laptop on me if I try and use it in front of her. She's gotta take a nap eventually though : )))

No, flanking Sarm won't be possible this round. You could flank Suvne, though.

Looking at the map, it's hard to tell, but Tarkus and Suvne are basically right next to each other, with Sarm on the other side of Tarkus in relation to Val. So Val can't get to Sarm at all, save for taking the long way around and incurring an opportunity attack from Suvne.

If Jack is disappointed at his failure to land a successful blow on Ivor, he does not show it. As the mad dwarf scuttles off to hide in the trees of the forest, he somehow manages to elude Jack’s advanced optical sensor systems and remain hidden. Rather than fret about the location of his chosen foe, Jack pivots slightly and makes a beeline for Bones. With the benefit of direct observation of Bones’s fighting techniques and extrapolating from Muun’s own combat effectiveness, the android judges that the feral ranger is too dangerous to be left alone for long.

“Bones,” he says flatly as he draws back to attack, “in our brief time together I would be interested in hearing about the particulars of the reality you inhabit and how it differs from our own. Primary sources on this subject are difficult to come by, and though we be adversaries, it would be unfortunate if we were to squander this opportunity.”

Code:
Jack Attack: 1d20+20=23
Percentage to hit: 32
Damage: 2d6+10=20
((Doubt that hits anyway, unless the loss of Dex bonus to Bones’s AC from Jack counting as invisible is pretty significant))

Val is suitably impressed as Suvne catches her weapon in midair as she does, and raises his buckler in futile instinct as he is buffeted by the forces of pure malevolence that brings him to his knees. Rising again, he readies his sword and prepares to continue fighting. “It’s positively indecent of you to decide to join the fight after I’ve surrendered Hextor’s mark,” he grumbles. “I’m certain it would have been quite useful right now.”

Anticipating another blow, Val spins to his left to find a flanking position from which to attack the evil paladin, driving his sword between the joints of the armor of Suvne’s dark reflection.

Code:
Val Full Round Attack:
Attack 1: 1d20+30=50
Confirming critical: 1d20+30=43
Percentage to hit: 75
Damage: 1d6+20=26
Bonus critical damage: 1d6+20=21 + 3 STR damage

Attack 2: 1d20+25=43
Confirming critical: 1d20+25=45 ((JESUS!))
Percentage to hit: 22
Damage: 1d6+20=21
Bonus critical damage: 1d6+20=22 + 3 STR damage

Attack 3: 1d20+20=32
Percentage to hit: 35
Damage: 1d6+20=24
((No doubt some secret power is going to nerf that, but damn that’s some good rollin’.))

((First I need to confirm something, because it makes a big difference on the results of Val's turn. Did you count the -2 penalty from Sarm's Recitation spell? Your character sheet says you have +26 to hit; you have +2 from being invisible and +2 from Flanking which would bring you to 30, and then Recitation would reduce that to 28; I don't see anything else that would've cancelled out that penalty.

It matters a great deal because if you didn't count that penalty, then your first hit doesn't confirm the critical, and the second attack doesn't hit at all, since a critical only auto-hits if it's a Natural 20, and otherwise has to actually hit their AC. Suvne's AC is 42.))

((Just barely got her then :)

Things are getting serious, you guys.

Sarm 5-steps away from Tarkus, uses Divine Metamagic and spends another Rebuke attempt to turn True Seeing into a Ray, then channels the Ray through his Greater Metamagic Rod of Chain Spell, giving True Seeing to his entire team.

This completely nullifies the benefits of the Rings of Blink while making the drawbacks for the party (20% miss chance) still relevant. Deactivating the Ring is a standard action if you want to do that.

Suvne drinks a Potion of Cure Serious Wounds to heal 28 HP with her Move action and enters Full Defensive stance with her Standard action.

*NOTE:* I forgot about this in the previous round so it's my fault, but from here on, squares adjacent to Suvne are counted as Difficult Terrain to the party, as per the ability conferred to her by her levels in Knight. This means that Tarkus will not be able to 5-foot-step into a square adjacent to Sarm.

Evaneth takes bunch of damage from arrows, then 5-foot-steps next to Muun and goes Full Attack, utilizing Flurry of Blows.

First attack: Expend a usage of Stunning Fist. d20 + 20 = 22; miss.
Second attack: Expend another usage of Stunning Fist. d20 + 20 = 23; miss.
Third Attack: Expend another usage of Stunning Fist: d20 + 15 = 28; should hit. Make a DC 26 Fortitude save, or be Stunned for a round.
Fourth Attack: d20 + 10 = 18; will miss even if you're stunned.

Bones gets hit by Jack (that denied-Dex-clause is brutal), then five-foot-steps back and goes Full Attack w/ Rapid Shot on Jack:

First Attack: Natural 1 misses.
Second Attack: 40 hits for 15 damage.
Third Attack: 21 misses.
Fourth Attack: 19 misses.

Ivor moves and attempts to hide again; DC 30 Perception to spot him. ))

Suvne and Sarm close ranks against the encroaching Tarkus and Val. Val manages to score a series of debilitating strikes through the joints of Suvne's armor, noticeably weakening her physically, but her resolve remains as strong as ever. "I suppose I should've saved my "hobbled" line," she quips in deadpan, glaring at Val. Without missing a beat, she pulls a potion from a pouch on her belt and downs it; it cures some of her wounds and gives her enough breathing room to batton down the hatches.

Sarm steps just out of Tarkus's range and casts another divine spell, channeling it through his luxurious scepter; the rod distributes the benefits of Sarm's magicks to his entire team, granting them supernatural senses and allowing them all to bypass the difficulties presented by the party's extradimensional finger-wear.

Ivor yelps after being stuck in the arm by one of Muun's arrows, and runs off in an unseen direction, attempting to duck out of sight once more.

Evaneth doesn't stop advancing on Muun, attempting to connect with a series of blows. Due to his attempt at aiming for a vital organ, his aim is a little off, but one of his kicks does connect, threatening to knock the wind out of the ranger for a turn.

Bones shrieks as Jack bounds toward him, unsure how to react to the flickering automaton and taking an unfortunate stab to the gut as a result. "Ahh! The metal one talks! It's... it's unnatural! KILL IT! KILL IT!" he cries, clearly even more mentally unstable than Ivor; he backs up and pounds Jack with a flurry of arrows, most of which are deflected by the metal man's fortified torso.

The Reign of Destruction Continues...

Up ahead, the battle between millions of Astral Sea denizens and the three Eldrazi continues, with the titans periodically unleashing their destructive pulse, and the unrelenting parade of warriors who know they march to their doom.

The Eldrazi seem to be winning the battle. The armies are beginning to get thinner, and they have only inflicted superficial "injuries" on the enormous creatures, and things seem to be looking grim.

Suddenly, another portal opens up, right next to the creatures, and an enormous (though not nearly as big as the Eldrazi) undead avatar emerges.

HavengulLich_DKA_iPad_Wallpaper.jpg

Quintus immediately recognizes it as Vecna's True Form. He is immediately followed by a throng of undead monstrosities; some are airborne, others are ground-based. They converge on the Eldrazi, and this time, the destructive pulse emitted by the beasts doesn't automatically destroy the armies.

Vecna, meanwhile, unleashes the full power of his necromantic energy on the creatures, and significant chunks of them actually rot away and fall off in real time.

Just then, another portal opens up above Emrakul, and a larger-than-life, four-armed demon-creature lands directly on the creatures head and begins to immediately pummel it ferociously and with all its might. Tarkus recognizes this as the patron-god of all evil orcs; Gruumsh seems to have deemed this a worthy battle.

The clouds above the creatures, which until now have been dark and foreboding, abruptly part, and a shining beam of light pierces through. Along that beam of sunshine, a white-hot ball of pure divine energy is carried, and sears its way deeply into Ulamog, dealing significant damage; this is almost certainly Pelor joining the fray.

Other gods join the fray. Bahamut arrives in the form of a truly enormous armor-clad, winged warrior, sporting a sword big enough to cut swaths through the Eldrazi; Tiamat arrives in her dragon form and cooks them with her mystical breath weapon. Hextor arrives in all his six-armed, gray-skinned glory, followed closely by his brother Heironeous.

The Eldrazi don't seem to change their tactics; they continue using their pulses, but the Pulses only damage the gods attacking them, rather than outright killing them, and the gods seem to be regenerating (though not at a rapid enough pace to keep up with the assault ad nauseum).

The battle continues.

((Begin Round 3. Note: I just realized I forgot to incorporate Quintus's turn into the flavor text. I'm too lazy to fit it in now, but I did count the damage))

Perception: (1d20+11=16)

((I believe they would still get 20% miss chance for being in the ethereal plane(unless they have weapons that can hit the ethereal plane of course), but still makes the rings far less worth using.))

Quintus removes his ring and walks around Eva(far enough to avoid and AoO), then casts a quickened Sculpted Grease spell under his enemies, using his mastery of shaping to avoid his allies.

((DeadPhoenix is correct. The miss chance is reduced to 20%; that's my mistake. I read Blink wrong.

Rolling for the hit on Muun: 43%, still good.

Rolling for the hit on Jack: 91, so that one will miss. Jack doesn't take that damage.

All four of the bad guys passed their Reflex save, assuming it was DC 20, so no one falls prone due to grease))

As the battle continues and their alternate dimension enemies move around, Tarkus quickly shouts Val's name amidst the chaos.

((How you wanna play this, guy? Tag team Dark Knight Suvne, use most of my turn to pursue Sarm or try to pull some heat off Val and Muun via Shout? Problem with shout is it's only DC 26 which I can easily see most of these powered up guys resisting.))

(((Keep in mind that grease is still there. they will need to make a save every round they are on it and make a balance check to move in it(its an easy check, but i doubt sarm or sauve have much bonus in balance beyond their dex, minus their acp). plus... maybe come up with other, original ways, to try and use it to your advantage? If nothing else trip and bullrush might get some advantages(though of course that is up to our gm)))

Jack doesn't flinch as Bones's arrows ricochet off his metal plating with no effect. "Regrettable," he says with something that might almost be pity, "this could have been a singular occurrence to participate in the mutual exchange of knowledge with a denizen of a completely different universe."

Not one to linger on sentimentality, Jack swings his greatsword at the insane ranger in two quick strokes.

Jack's head sudden turns in the direction of Ivor, the hidden dwarf's efforts falling short of their ability to conceal him from the android's sensor array. "Alert, I have detected the location of the Ivor Fireheart analog," he announces to the party, pointing out the exact location.

---

The sight of the arrival of the gods to the battle gives Val pause enough for Suvne to mitigate some of the wounds he's inflicted and to assume a defensive posture. He waves a hand toward the horizon. "Look! Look at the sky, damn you! Tell me, what god do you serve that stands in opposition to all the others in their quest to destroy the Eldrazi? We are the chosen agents of an entire pantheon, you should be fighting along side us, not against us!"

Muun easily makes a series of steps and head tilts to avoid Evaneth's jabs, keeping a groovy rhythm of grace in his movements to render himself effectively impervious through fleeting. Evaneth follows up with a well timed round house kick, propelled forward by the step of his other foot to catch Muun's movements in an accurate prediction based on his previous movements just then. However, the kick lands bluntly and doesn't dull the boy's senses. With a pause, Muun asks, "You just struck me where for any other man it would be his kidney, rendering his body struggling to regain function.. but sometimes I wonder if I'm not actually some kind of monster on the inside."

He pushes Evaneth away by the leg and says, "Look at you. That last attack on me just now was pathetic. Why are you trying to stop me when you can't?" He points up at the cataclysm occurring in the ruined skies, "Listen to Val. Even good and evil are working together today, not because they've put their differences aside, but because there's a need even greater than something known as good or evil. It is a need that keeps everything in the balance. That need is called survival. I always fought against evil, but it was for survival, not to uphold good."

"I only know stories about the man you are shadowing, but the Evaneth I was told about struggled to exist, only to fail and become lost in time. You have a chance to become the one that survives in his place."

Muun stares straight into Evaneth's corrupted face, "What will it be then!? Don't you want to exist!?"

Spotting the swashbuckler attempting to sway Suvne in light of the greater plight, the half-orc scrunches his face in a look of disgust. "Do not waste your breath. Twisted version of our friend deserve no quarter!" Just as he does, he hears Muun make a plea for Evaneth's life as well. Before the smallest shadow of doubt can grow in his mind, the shriek and roar of another portal opening up nearly deafens the warrior.

Witnessing even Vecna's true form and the other deities join in the battle for all existence is all he needs. He shouts to the others, willing the adrenaline in his veins to help drown out the fear in his voice. "There is no time! We must end this soon!"

As Sarm retreats and begins to chant, Tarkus closes the gap between himself and the defensively-positioned knight, rushing towards her to test his own steel against her terrain mastery.

"If you stand to defend even your own destruction, my axe shall hasten your demise!"

Val's attempts to bait Suvne into exposing herself are futile, as his strikes are all parried in succession. Tarkus fairs a bit better, striking a satisfying blow to Suvne's flank; she stumbles a bit, coughing up blood and whirling to face him, daggers shooting from her eyes in defiance.

"You're barking up the wrong tree, Fierno," Sarm taunts. "I am the only god of any concern to Suvne. She is and always will be my loyal slave. I care not what the fools in the skies above do to each other; my intention is to claim dominion over what remains. I've already conquered my own world, killing you in the process - well, another version of you, anyway -; it's fitting that history is about to repeat itself." Sarm begins to cackle malevolently as a shining beam of restorative energy is refracted from his scepter in all directions, selectively restoring him and his lackeys to full or nearly-full health.

Suvne stands tall once more, the wounds inflicted upon her by Tarkus and Val rendered null and void. She grins psychotically. "Shall we dance, Half-Orc?"

She launches into a parade of merciless strikes, the first of which is powered up by some foul magicks and sinks deep into his chest. The second also hits home, while the next two Tarkus is barely able to parry.

As Muun finishes his last-ditch plea to the monk and awaits a reply, he realizes finally why Evaneth has been quiet this entire battle. His mouth is sewn tightly shut; he couldn't speak if he wanted to. Instead, he gives Muun a look of pity and disgust, and turns away abruptly to try and take down Quintus with a kick to the face.

Bones seems to have entered a maniacal frenzy, screaming indiscriminately and unleashing a rapid-fire barrage of arrows at Jack; somehow his aim is much better this time, and he connects with four out of five arrows, the last of which seems to have compromised a particularly vital system.

Ivor simply pulls a potion out of his jacket and chugs it, vanishing from view.

*******

The first divine casualty of the all-out war up ahead is claimed. Emrakul raises a tentacle, the end of which suctions onto Gruumsh. Gruumsh then systematically begins to unravel at a molecular level, as his body seems to separate into cubes, which are divided smaller and smaller until they simply vanish into thin air.

Ehlonna is soon to follow, after Kozilek abruptly, and with frightening speed, crushes her with one tremor-inducing slam of his fist. Fharlangh is enveloped by one of Ulamog's thicker tentacles, which wraps around and around him until he disappears from sight; when Ulamog releases the tentacle, the god is gone.

As Gruumsh disappears from reality, something happens to Tarkus. A long-dormant instinct - or perhaps an instinct that he's worked hard to suppress - rises unbidden to the surface, and he feels a supernatural rage the likes of which he has never experienced before. It overwhelms him, and suddenly he feels closer and more connected with the Orcish half of his heritage than he ever has before.

((Tarkus has just entered a Rage, which is normally a Barbarian ability. He has +4 to Strength and +4 to Constitution, and cannot do anything except for attack for a few turns (equal to 3 + his newly-improved Constitution modifier). More details can be found at the link.

((Fuck it, I got Sarm, I was kinda holding back... no more))

As Quintus takes a foot to the face, he stumbles away from the monk, shaking it off as best he can, then he turns to Sarm and says "Alright I'm tired of your shit, you're on time out to think about what you've done, and what we are gonna do to you when you get back." he then shouts "MAZE!" pointing at Sarm who disappears... and hopefully hasn't invested in Int recently.

((Forgot to do another round of Reflex saves for Grease.

Bones: Balance check for the 5-foot step is 24, he passes.

Bones rolled a 1 for his Reflex save during Quintus's turn, so after he attacks Jack he slips and falls prone.))

Sarm's cackling stops abruptly, and is replaced by panic. "What is this? What's happening?! I... NO!"

And just like that, Sarm disappears.

+4 from Enhancement Bonus
+2 from Heroic Effect
-2 from Rapid Shot

Grunting against the burning gash in his stomach, Tarkus is about to respond in kind to the twisted Knight Suvne when he catches Gruumsh final destruction off in the distance. A powerful, ancestral energy begins to awaken within him. Gripped by pain, the half-orc doubles over.

As the demon lord and patron leader of his ancestors, those who carry orcish blood all carry a small link to his being. Tarkus had discarded the art of rage long ago, fearing the loss of control it inflicts upon its user. Now, this rage washes over him, an agonizing surge of adrenaline pumping rapidly through his veins. Incensed beyond any potion or magic, beyond any morality or reason, beyond anything he can hope to control, a shard of panic pierces his mind before his vision and senses are overwhelmed.

It is like waking from a dream. What was in his mind is still there, but to Tarkus the world in his mind is covered in a field of small red flowers. One by one they bloom until the hunched form of the warrior roars in pain. Raising himself to stand up straight, his muscles appear to clench and quake, twitching as dark veins spread like fractures across his taught pale green skin. He does not speak, but turns his bloodshot eyes towards Suvne with the pained expression of one who can only find sanctuary in destruction of another.

((Suvne goes Full Attack on Tarkus again. Note: I think my link to Tarkus's character sheet is outdated so I'm not sure what his current AC is. Something makes me think it's 35 so I'm going to roll with that.

First Attack: 43 vs AC; 18 damage.
Second Attack: 42 vs AC; 18 damage.
Third Attack: 34 vs AC; miss. If I'm wrong about that, it would be another 18 damage.
Fourth Attack: 35 vs AC. If that hits like I think it will, 23 damage.

Also, just to make sure we're on the same page, the bonus to Constitution is going to boost your HP by 2 per level, giving you an extra 30 to work with.

Ivor attacks Val with a crossbow. That's a 33 vs. your flat-footed AC (which is also reduced by 2 due to invisibility). Percentage roll: 78%. The bolt itself deals 2 damage, and the Rogue Sneak Attack ability deals an additional 35 damage. Val must make a Fortitude save, DC 25, or take 8 Dexterity damage. Remember that you still have -2 to saves from Recitation.

Evaneth uses his Snatch Arrows feat to cancel out Muun's first attack (He had this the entire time, but I forgot to use it in the first round). The second misses due to percentage, and the third and fourth don't hit his AC.

He 5-steps to Quintus and goes Full Attack with Flurry of Blows:

First attack: 35 to hit. 13 damage.
Second attack: 20 on the die. Confirmation roll: 30. 15 damage.
Third attack: 35 to hit. 9 damage.
Fourth attack: 34 to hit. 13 damage.
Fifth attack: 23 to hit. Miss.

Bones stands up, incurring an Opportunity Attack from Jack, which happens to score and confirm a Critical Hit, dealing 36 damage to Bones. Bones then tumbles out of his square, easily beating the Balance check from Grease, and moves north of where Sarm used to be, out of the grease trap.))

A Battle of Attrition

"Now now, Val," Ivor taunts from behind his shroud of invisibility, "Tone it down with the misogynistic language! We're in the presence of a lady!" He fires off a crossbow bolt at the swashbuckler, who is unprepared to dodge a projectile from a source he can't see. It strikes him hard in the carotid artery, resulting in an uncomfortable gush of blood while simultaneously introducing a nasty poison into Val's veins.

Suvne's maniacal countenance abruptly turns fearful as she realizes what's happening to Tarkus. Caught off-guard, she endures a series of brutal strikes from the half-orc's axe, severely injuring her and opening her up to an attack by Val, to boot.

Not entirely out of the fight yet, Suvne doubles down and retaliates against Tarkus, swinging back with the ferocity and determination befitting a paladin of her stature, and causing some nasty wounds of her own. "Lord Sarm!" she cries out, "I need your guidance! Please, return to us!"

Evaneth, having decided that Muun isn't much of a threat (especially after snatching one of the ranger's arrows out of the air mid-flight and effortlessly dodging the rest), seems undeterred by the awesome power displayed by Quintus in sending the apparent ringleader of the group to another dimension. He advances forward and launches into a series of punches and kicks that Quintus is not accustomed to defending against, what with his tendency to avoid the front lines and all.

Sarm remains exiled from this plane of existence, for the time being.

Large-Scale Annihilation

By now, the battle ahead is comprised entirely of Eldrazi and the gods. The armies have been almost entirely wiped out. It's also very possible that Lucille is still in it, but she is not nearly large enough to be visible from this distance.

Hexter and Bahamut are the next major gods to be claimed by the Eldritch monstrosities, finally succumbing to the incessant barrage of annihilating pulses; more and more minor gods' lives are being claimed by the second.

There is a ray of hope, however, as Heironeous, Vecna, and Pelor focus their attacks against Kozilek; the most humanoid of the Eldrazi (in appearance, anyway) succumbs to the assault, disintegrating spontaneously in a similar manner to how Gruumsh was defeated.

Two Eldrazi yet remain, against a rapidly-dwindling array of gods from the Astral Sea....

Concentration(i don't think i can fail this): (1d20+24=35)
The wizard removes an object from his spell pouch, and says a few strange words, then suddenly he is cover in a strange cocoon like object, but just as suddenly, something bursts free of it, something much bigger then the wizard... a stone giant! He then looks down on the monk and smiles.

((used Polymorph spell obviously. Do i still get my magic item stat bonuses on top of the change in stats or no? never really been sure on that... and does a night rest just heal us hp per hit dice or do we include con bonus?(can't remember the last time we rested without being able to fully heal with spells/items anyways)))

Assuming that Quintis can now handle himself just fine as an epic creature, decides to go for efficiency and try and help take out Suvne's dark doppleganger, who was already given a chance to reconsider.

Attack Rolls (1d20+24=41, 1d20+24=38, 1d20+19=39, 1d20+14=25)
Percentile Rolls (1d100=27, 1d100=100, 1d100=62, 1d100=90) (Getting bad luck on these rolls, but at least the crit went through)
Crit Threaten Roll (1d20+19=32)
Damage Rolls (including Crit) (1d10+3+4=13, 1d10+3+4=14, 1d10+3+4=12)
Fire Damage (the 1d6 is not rolled again in crit damage) (1d6=6, 1d6=4)

((39 total damage, plus 6 and 4 fire damage))

((Muun just knocked out Suvne, so Val and Tarkus can go elsewhere.

Resting would give you one HP per hit dice plus your con mod (in case others are confused why he's asking that, it's bc Polymorph heals you as though you'd just taken one night's rest when you cast it).. When you Polymorph, your equipment temporarily goes away and shuts off, so you don't get bonuses from it in your new form))

((Can Val finish off Suvne without taking a full round action for coup de frace so Sarm can't just heal her back into the game if he comes back? Though I guess he'd probably have a Raise spell on tap...

Also, do we have any options for undoing ability score damage if Val fails that fortitude save? Would the stats of a Polymorphed creature override it?))

((A single attack would finish her off at this point, so you could move elsewhere. Also, any sort of resurrection spell takes at least 10 minutes to cast (with the exception of the one that only works if you use it within one round of the creature's death), so you won't have to worry about that even if Sarm shows back up.

I don't know offhand what options the party has for undoing ability score damage, but I know for a fact that at least one of you has the means to neutralize poison, which would be functionally the same thing.

My google-fu tells me that the ability damage would carry through to a polymorphed form and modify the new form's Dex.))

((I think thLunarian is alluding to the ointment Tarkus was gifted. Also Tarkus AC is currently 28 because of the -2 and the fact that he can't use Combat Expertise due to rage. Therefore he is now at 60hp after taking the full gauntlet of Suvne's strikes. That being said, I don't see anything on the rage page that says he can't use a free action to declare the defending bonus of his weapon in this round so...))

Music

"Lord Sarm!" she cries out, "I need your guidance! Please, return to us!"

'Her plea unheard, unnoticed and un-wept.'

As a hail of arrows whistle past his ears and penetrate his black-armored foe, Tarkus watches a moment as the light fades from her...no, its eyes. For a split second, he swears it is not the look of an enemy. Indecision forms like rainclouds over the red haze in his mind. A small and muffled voice deep within ventures a whisper.

'Why are we here...?'

Looking skyward, the triumvirate of the most powerful gods mount their final assault for all of creation. Nearby his allies struggle alongside him, using every ounce of their strength, wit, dexterity and intelligence to survive. Standing in the field of crimson flowers, the half-orc feels he moves in slow motion. The very air hisses with a foul wind as the ground shakes and rumbles, Kozilek's death a blow felt by the entire world.

He leans down to look closer at this thing that has familiar eyes, as it slips down into the pool of its own blood. He recognizes it as someone attached to an emotion or memory that is foreign to his current state. Confusion, sorrow and pity flash through his mind before they are swept away one by one by the red flowers.

Grunting in anger, he kicks the annoying face away from his view. Just another corpse that failed to weaken his rage.

Spotting a shifting form in the trees, he experiences another moment of recognition. He will not be swayed again. Rushing forward, amidst his feverish breathing and burning eyes his grip upon Perun shifts slightly. A blue glow begins to emanates from the weapon as he charges, augmenting his weakened armor, closing fractured gaps and pushing away the dark aura of Sarm's recitation.

Reflex Save v Grease

Damage v Bones
1d12+16 → [3,16] = (19)

Holy Damage (if applicable)
