Models look great, but yeah, the UI is probably upscaled, same with some text.

Will hold out purchase until we get a patch or fan patch. I would love me some AAed Ultimate Ninja but 30FPS kills it for me

Was this the sequel to generations?

Eh, I prefer the CoN line of games (although they've stopped making them). Might get if I see it on sale or something.

if there is no real reason for the 30fps lock (like if the game engine is based around a fixed timestep or not) then someone will probably find a way to unlock it fairly shortly

That doesn't really make sense, unless the game never, ever drops below 30 FPS on consoles.

It would not be the first time where a high framerate breaks a game's physics or logic. Remember when Quake 3 allowed you to jump higher at high framerates? And that was a PC first game.

The game sure is pretty though, played some free battles and the prologue to the story mode and it looks so good. I'm not sure what to think about the choice thing though.

I don't think 60FPS is crucial for this fighting game. IIRC from the console demos you can simply mash one button and a combo would come out.

Pretty sure this still holds true for the series - it is far more Asura's Wrath than BlazBlue.

For a fighting game? Yes.

Hasn't this game always been 30fps? It's now suddenly not ok cause it's on PC?

This is pretty much what happens on most fighting games. 30 or 60. Otherwise it would fuck up all the frame counting for the move sets.

There might also be complications regarding the online mode. If framerate isn't synced.

Having a locked 30 FPS on PC is a big no-no. PC gamers at least expect PC games to have an unlocked frame rate.

A 60fps game is always better then the exact same game at 30fps, however when a game is already designed for 30fps it might not be as simple as you'd think to achieve that.

Take Outrun 2007 for example, people playing at 60fps were faster online for some reason lol.

Well, then again my question is, does UNS never drop below 30 on consoles? If it does, does it handle that by slowing down? If not, then it already supports variable frame times.

(Also, the last fighting game I spent any time playing was SF4 on PC, and that supported arbitrary frame rates)

is this game no longer being sold on gmg?

I keep getting "Error 404: Page Not Found"

EU version is still there:

Can't say for sure, demo seemed to be stable and there was no online.

Oh, also, what is the resolution equivalent of 1080p with 2xSSAA? I want to see if I can go higher. I can mantain 30 most of the time at 2880x1620 + 2xSSAA, so I guess something like 3200x1800 and no SSAA would be achievable?

I guess I could just test it, but I need to kill time, it's gonna be a while before I get home, and the fact that you have to quit the game in order to change settings sucks.

If you mean 2xSGSSAA, that's twice as many samples, so roughly equivalent to 2560x1600 in terms of performance impact. Of course, SGSSAA will give you better edge quality.

I ( sadly ) found a way to have have lower fps ( enabling 3d vision without oversampling give me ~20fps; while no 3d vision + oversampling give me 30 fps :/ ) and I'm sadly pretty sure the game get slower.

And some element in the background ( moving sand in the arena I choose ) don't work well in 3d vision. >.<"
And god We need better assets for the UI. >.<

Other than than the game do look far far better with good resolution + oversampling than the pixelised mess it's on console.

Well...Yeah. Locked FPS is not a standard PC gamers want and should want. PC gaming is about freedom, if you purposely prohibit it, you're going to get angry responses.

I know people are saying that it would mess up with the game and the frame counting, but that has yet to mess up with any game on the PC. Look to Dark Souls as an example (Thanks Durante!) At the very worst, you got stuff like Bioshock's death animations.

I'm glad to see it's still on the top sellers, even though there is no early bird discount or anything like that. I hope it sells enough to send a message to other publishers that the PC crowd wants japanese games too.

Here's hoping for Deadly Premonition doing good as well.

It slows down on PC. I bumped my resolution up too high and it was dropping to low 20s and the game slowed down with the frames.

Game looks great though:

If you dig long enough you will still find games that still slowdown instead of supporting variable frame rates. The Yakuza games still operate like that as far as I know (atleast up to Dead Souls). The idea that this game would still do it isn't that crazy. I have not played the Naruto games though so I have no idea how they handle it, though I guess it keeps up a good reason to hit your target frame rate!

Aw man 30 fps really? I want to get it, but at that speed....

And looks like there won't be a fix anytime soon since it would require a lot more work than just unlocking the framerate.

If that's a deal breaker to you, you should skip on it. Chances are that if someone ever finds a way to fix it, the game will already be cheaper by then.

It sucks, but I guess it is what it is.

It doesn't support variable framerate, I tested and posted the result in the other topic that is discussing this game's framerate cap.
Just tested it, used Dxtory to limit the framerate at 10fps, the game plays in slow motion at that framerate.

That is factually wrong.

Unlocking framerate has an history of messing up games on occasion, Dark Souls being exactly one of them as it affects the way physics work. I don't think framecounting would be an issue with this game anyway, but there could be other complications.

I just wish the game covered the whole Shippuden arc, I know it's asking too much and previous games already did this, but it's the only one we have on PC :/

Even if it was a lazy Narutimate Hero 2 like campaign where you only fight people one after another.

Anyone whos played this and the original version, has the window for Neji's Awakened Chakra Dash into combo changed? Not sure if its FB changes to tone down the spamming, or an issue with the framerate/input lag, but when I do the same actions I used to do on the PS3 version, it doesn't dash but almost feels like it skips the dash input and pulls off his spin super.

Edit: Never mind, just me being an idiot. was due to having enough chakra to pull off the special, but not the dash. Has the amount of chakra used for dash changed actually? Seems like it uses alot more than it used to.

FR is literally meaningless in this game, and to raise it to 60 would serve no purpose except for those who wanted it "just because". I'm sure there are underlying reasons that would increase their budget, it's pretty unlikely that they did this just to maintain their vision or something.
