If it's something relevant to consumers they have to spill the beans. If they know something we ought to know before launch and they don't warn consumers the established gaming press will die in a fire of their own making.

It just sucks for consumers that have already pre-ordered their Xbox One (or who are considering buying one at launch date). If there IS more information about the console's flaws, consumers deserve to know.

I bet it must suck to be apart of this industry, and know you aren't able to tell people what they need to hear (because you will get blacklisted from the major companies).

To be fair, they might not have a source that is willing to go on the record or a second source for confirmation. If it's something as serious as the OS crashing, games not working properly or just an outright RROD-level of a fuck up, if they don't have confirmation or a source willing to go on record they probably can't report on it. Trust me, reporters hear shit off the record all the time. They know more than you do.

If they did report off the record stuff or reported without confirmation, blacklisting would be the least of their worries. MS would probably sue them for every penny they have. If it's such a serious issue that it could affect launch sales if it were revealed, you better believe MS probably wouldn't think twice about suing them.

Regardless of what you guys think of gaming journalists, they probably aren't making six figures. I doubt you want to risk going up against MS's legal team.

It got me thinking as well, tbh.

MS did so much crazy stuff in the last few months, what if they actually try to pull off one last hail mary shot to save the goddamn thing? But then again, what could they possibly do? Any major changes would require them to redesign the whole thing from scratch as far as I know.

But oh well, ockham's razor, the guys are probably indeed just soured by some embargo and/or OS problems.

This looks fake as hell but if it happened it would be a shit storm.

I think something is getting delayed or something is getting canned or something. I don't know. Something is going on and the media knows.

The only thing I could imagine trigger this at this point is if the console literally will not play games. It would be such a unmitigated disaster for them, the publishers making games for the console and retailers.

Vista wasn't heavier, it was bloated. That's why Windows 7 actually managed to run on any kind of hardware. And that's without touching all the drivers issues. You are right though, in the fact that nothing as buggy as ME has ever come out of MS offices ever again.

Why? I can cancel it at any moment. A pre-order is not a guarantee that I have to buy one. MS knows that, which is why they'd willfully hide their flaws as long as possible.
